I met young Mr Evans at a wild teen party across the road from where I lived in Toorak. Of all the kids there, he was the only one that had a clue musically and at that point, early 1972, was playing an SG copy bass. I had just turned 19 and he was probably 16.

I liked the early Mark Evans bass that he did in which was simple, but it fit the band. Personally,I wish he was never kicked out of the band.

Great book! His life's adventures were very entertaining to read. Glad he wrote the book because the Young brothers are not the type to write one.

Mark, good interview. Huge fan; love the book. '74 Jailbreak is an EP as noted in the interniew released in the US/Canada that featured Jailbreak (not released on US Dirty Deeds) plus the songs from the Aussie High Voltage that were not released here until then.

A Cool and down to earth guy!
I read his book and it was very entertaining and a cool insight to the Early years of AC/DC!!
Too bad he got fired but with AC/DC you Don't Argue or Piss Off the Young brothers, Period!
He learned that the hard way just like Phil Rudd did in 1983.
I love the Early and Raw AC/DC Even when George Young played Bass on the Lp's!
I believe Mark mostly Played on the LP's T.N.T., Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, The U.S. and UK Versions of High Voltage and Let There Be Rock with some Bass Work done by George Young too.

Well ya gotta admit the Youngs are pretty good guitar players nice to their fans but i gotta say it was a dick move by Angus punching Mark then losing your gig that's a piss off i hope now the same thing does not happen with Brian Johnson

    • @TheChristoph68
      @TheChristoph68 8 років тому +2

I like Brian, not more than Bon, but He's been the frontman for Along time now and he's done a great job too.
But I think he's on his way out, the last couple Albums have only had Angus and Mal writing Songs and Lyrics.
When the Lyric man is No longer getting his lyrics on any albums; then You Know Something is Up!

I think Angus & Malcolm wanted a bass player who is less noticeable. Mark was known to party with Bon a lot, but they knew they couldn't get rid of Bon.

I read the book and it should have been a magazine article. He was a hired hand in ACDC and even from his own words, he was not hired to write songs. The book is him telling the same old thing over and over. I don't think he even was recorded on any albums.
The book had some touching stories that had nothing to do with ACDC. The Youngs did not want him in the band and since it was their band, he should have chilled out and would have been a much richer man.
The book is a waste of time and very boring…...

+Richard N He Recorded TNT, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap , Let there be Rock and Rerecorded the parts for the U.S. and UK Version of High Voltage. The Only one's in the band that wrote Songs were Angus and Mal with Bon and Later Brian Writing Lyrics.
