I’ve traveled a lot in my life, and I find this video absolutely brilliant! I think you should start a TRAVEL lecture talking about these items. Maybe split it into two lectures and expand a bit more along with adding Q&A for audience participation. I would certainly pay to come to one of your lectures. Brilliant! Thank you so much. ~Sue 😊
Yes, us too. It is getting to the point where you realise that travel isn't the same as vacation. Then life gets more relaxed and fun living more like a local.
Great video! I’ve always said that the more you travel, the smaller the world becomes. The “other side of the world” doesn’t seem so far away once you’ve been there.
Ah, we know just how you feel. We felt the same for years before we pressed the button to do it for ourselves. I think you can do it at multiple cost points. For example, if your budget is smaller, then go to lower cost of living countries for most of the time. Really good website is numbeo.com that helps you to compare costs.
Good video. Good example of not doing the tourist things....before moving to Australia I lived in York for 6 years. Not once did I visit Jorvik or the Minster!
Brilliant list! Regarding #12, the US (my country) has the same propaganda claiming to be the best. I remember on my first visit to Japan, when smart phones were fairly new, seeing so many more people on them there than back at home in the US, which lagged behind.
Commenting at 21 mins in…… when you buy clothes and kitchen equipment at your destination, what do you do with them when you leave, given that you don’t want to carry excess weight?
Great video, thank you very much for that. - Just a comment on your "Important folder": This is highly, highly dangerous! This can destroy your life. Imagine you lose your phone or someone steals it. Your entire identity is in this "Important folder". First of all rename it to something that doesn't draw attention if your phone gets into the wrong hands, for instance "temp" or something like that. I am not a phone specialist, but I would assume there are apps which encrypt files or folders. And then make sure only you can open them with your thumb or a non-trivial password. - I can't say that I have figured it all out. When I travel I have my stuff in the cloud (which needs a password) and inside that cloud I have a section which is encrypted and has a separate password. That is where I have my ID stuff. I do know that I need internet access for this, but it terrifies me if someone gets hold of all this data.
Think he's got a background in I.T and resilience? So I'd guess it's password protected? Good point though just in case someone decides to put it all on a none pssword protected device? I have a paid for bank account purely for the travel insurance and some other benefits. I have a standing order each month to cover the fees. The cards for the account have never left my wallet, the pin numbers remain in their unopened envelopes in a safe, yet the account has been compromised twice. Nothing is safe.
I see you apply your experience or interest in NLP in the comments section on both your accounts?! Like many other non proven theories some of the ideas have merit and can be applied to daily life to help us get through it. Not unlike the bible I suppose?
Hi Blue! I wouldn's say that I do that, well not conciously anyway... I think it is actually more a case of working a corporate job where every email you send tends to get pulled to pieces and thrown back at you lol, so I think I have this in-built way of self censorship in comments. Is that a good thing? Likely not, but 30 years of corporate life is difficult to shake off. I looked at NLP in my very early 20's and loved it. As you say, there are things that I think work but a lot which is a little mumbo-jumbo. I think the point about an external force being able to change your state isn't possible is quite correct... it is how we let things land on us. However... that doesn't actually mean that it's easy to do. I've lost count of the times I say "He/She annoyed me". So although theoretically I agree with it, actually achieving the state to do that is far more difficult to achieve.
@2GoRoamTravels You're mostly polite in your replies even if someone has made a derogatory comment about you. I try to do the same in daily life especially if people don't always expect it. It can have the effect of calming a situation or the opposite without you having to raise your voice. I suppose you need to try to read people? Anyway on a different note, we treat a couple of our longer road trips more like (but not like previous holidays) a holiday but spend the most part of the year living our normal to us life but just in different locations and the novelty value of that means we have plenty of things to keep us amused. Very much looking forward to your Spanish apartment series, it's what we should be doing although It's been great not owning a property I think we need one as part of a contingency plan.
Absolutely love this video!
You've touched on so many good points about travel.
Happy trails to all.
I want to learn your tips for taking good photos!!
Thank you Susan, I will include it within a future travel video. Look out for it.
Oh yes please@2GoRoamTravels I'd be interested too! 😊
Loved this! Thank you!
Great video!
Thank you, appreciate it!

Delights are in the mundane …I found this to be the best part of travel. Loved this video!

great tips, love it, you really do sell the "slow travel" lifestyle. My budget scares the life out of me, i cant see how i know if we have enough.

@@2GoRoamTravels thanks, i have been diligently watching your videos, and noting all your helpful links, websites etc.
Very good/ interesting video 👍
Many thanks.
Great idea to have a video how to take photos . Please do that
Haven't heard of NLP but looking it up now 👍
Cool, it's a very interesting subject.

Really interesting isn't it Beth. We think that most places of the world have good and bad, including our home countries.
❤🎉❤🎉❤
Thank you!

Irish passport?
Well wouldn't that be a good idea :-). Watch this space :-)
