Not only did you save $6,000 but you taught yourself how to cut corners, lay an artistically inspired hob (step-over), and proved once again that the Glen Experimental Approach works very well in all areas of creativity.
Those diamond saws for angle grinders are the trick when you need to cut up the very hard refractory bricks. Just wear a mask when you do I don't think there's anything in them which is healthy for humans
Like another person said be careful cutting that tile, that stuff is really bad for your lungs 🫁, just want you to be doing your thing for many years to come!
Repaint the all the ceilings flat white..your losing so much light and brightness.. regardless what the wall color is the ceilings should always stay flat white to reflect the maximum amount of light..flat white is very reflective..that is the reason people use it..of course a lot of people will use a semi gloss for bathrooms because of moisture..
It has been interesting watching how you tackle the challenges you have experienced along the way.
How satisfying to solve problems outside of your daily expertise! And then see the results every day. Nice!
