"Sleep" helps me. I have Autism and ADHD.
It helps me fall sleep. It also helps me settle down if I feel overloaded.
I listen to it most nights.

I often wonder if Max Richter knows how much pleasure and comfort
his music brings to us.My life is much fuller with him in it

His nature is the same as yours, it's just that he knows it and you are as of yet, unaware of it. All he is doing is sharing his - our - innate nature (peace love and happiness) and people who are so covered up with the weight of lifes seeming problems which are borne out of thinking you are a separate self, just recognise this. Music has the power to help people recogbise that is our true nature. From a lofelong music teacher turned meditation teacher. Xxx

There is nothing difficult about this composition. No complex strings, as simple as can be. And it's one of the most beautiful compositions I have heard. It takes you into a place so beautiful and wonderful. I just don't have words to describe that feeling.

a young composer just told me that this music is only deceptively simple.. All the voices must stay balanced in a very exact way, the attack of all the chords must be the same so there is no room for any freedom, the players must be terribly focused for a long time, also emotionally of course.

    • @cairus
      @cairus 6 років тому +1

Precisely! You could talk about different types of complexity or difficulty. Not many notes or fast passages, but it requires focus, each note has been carefully chosen, excess is removed.

It's music perfect for thinking, studying... sleeping - obviously.... and to just put down all your tools and stop for a while in this busy social society; and relax, reflect and even work on your own deeper hangups...... Beautiful music and a massive inspiration of mine! :-)

Max Richter give to the ears what they want to hear. No useless notes or effects, only a direct and natural flow of music, exactly what we're waiting for.

Max Richter is one of the most eloquent stand outs in real music of the 21st century, IMO. He can make virtually everything raw and emotional, complex and simple, different yet similar. He can make any movie tug at the heart.

I bought this when it was released on iTunes and have listened to the 'full' eight-and-a-half-hour version many times. I love the way the tempo slides around, keeping the music just one step ahead of the listener. A masterpiece.

Man..even the celloist Ian? ... weaves such a deep, serene divinity, into the tapestry of the soul..Igniting more magic, into the illuminating raptures of Max's wonder. No articulation can muster his brilliance.Thankyou . A gift

This beautiful piece of music brings out the most melancholic and nostalgic roots of myself. This piece speaks to the loneliest parts of self, I reminisce in the girl I’ve been, the girl I was, the woman I’m becoming.
At 20, I have said goodbye to my childhood and said hello to this new era in my life.
I have questions, so many , everyday.
I evaluate my decisions, the path I’ve chosen so far, the friends I’ve left and the ones I’ve gained, the family that’s betrayed me and the ones that never failed to believe in me.
In this era of my life, I focus on my career and the lovers I’ve had.
The lover that has claimed my very essence, the lover that made me feel the owner of my own time is with me. He, my blue eyed boy, is with me.
But he hasn’t always been. He’s left me, he’s failed me and he came back to me with open arms and a broken heart.
And I didn’t run, I didn’t forfeit my devotion to him, I accepted him and let no judgement pass through me becuase, well, I love him.
In the off chance you see this message, you, the one I adore; you are heaven-sent. my fallen angel, my complex friend, my ally, my one.
You are everything to me. Never doubt my love, I’ve loved you not only in this life but in the past and in the next.
I am so blessed to have met you, if anything happens .. I love you.
    stay, stay... don’t be afraid...
linger here with me under the dim moonlight.

you clearly have an obsessions with complexity. why can't you just decide you don't like this music and move on with your life? Why the multiple snide comments? Complexity complex? I feel bad for you you can't enjoy art in it's simplest form

I guess you could have written Spiegel Im Spiegel, Fratres, or anything by Arvo Part, philip glass, david lang, olafur arnalds etc? Some of the most beautiful music in the world is simple and perfect. If you can listen to Spiegel Im Spiegel and not be moved, then I understand why you treat complexity as if it's necessity.
