Mate Buov I got a sneaky suspicion that Martirosyan had lighter gloves on. I know they look like 16oz and probably say 16oz but inside the padding has been worn down, he just looked like he had light hands and I dont mean speed
i kno then u got ifiot that never trained or sparred a day in their life always saying, sparri g is just practice. sometimes theres just work, but alot of times, we go in trying to drop each other, hands down. i walked out of many sparrings feeling alot worse then any tournaments we competed in, boxing or kickboxing.

Chaves jr, was only capitalizing on his bigger size. If you really dissect the sorting you can tell the other fighter was technically better chaves jr is and ok fighter not elite
Best fights I have ever scene are always in the gym. Guys are less conservative and open up the safe. Bring out everything. People do things in sparring you would never see in a real fight. Think you watching DBZ or something. 😂

Better still, why don't you just go to Wildcard yourself and challenge Chavez to a spar, record it , then upload it! I'm sure Freddie Roach would be appreciative of someone like you going down there and teaching all these silly world championship level fighters who don't know what they're doing a trick or two! :-)

Mauro Heck, you're right: Chavez Jr.'s defense is non-existent, and Martirosyan is in the Philly Shell, but he's not rolling. However, Martirosyan is countering well, and his counters are crisp and accurate. He's countering AND changing levels when he's on the ropes and in the Shell, but I also wondered why he wasn't rolling in the Shell (and why his chin wasn't tucked better).

@@milanoademar9484 I think that maybe sometimes it is harder having a father as a trainer especially when they expect so much from you as a son one might feel as if they cannot talk back to their father because he's your father which leads to talking constant criticism without the ability to defend yourself. This is why I believe he lost passion for the sport and willfully made bad decisions for himself as a way to get back at his father which only truly damaged himself.

i totally agree with you! i just want to point out that Chavez jr's mental makeup makes him perform even better under the lights of the main event. i think Chavez is still a student of boxing and i do see him improving every fight
he's training to take punches while cowering. For the non boxers watching this, its actually a deliberate exercise. Senior was great at gracefully cowering as he ruthlessly beat you to death. Closing range, rolling punches, using his posture to deactivate combinations. Not to say he's as good as Senior, but it's really cool to watch a little of that method passed down into another human.
The thing about Chavez Jr. Is that he can stay in position while getting hit and at the same time be throwing a punch as if he were to be doing it normal. He's tough.
Dag Chavez jr always gets eaten up in sparring. Sucks to have to learn how to box at such a late age; and not have those gritty work ethics. He's tough though. His hook is nothing like his dad's He's at the wrong height for it. He'd have to squat lower than that if he wants a real Chavez hook. thats gonna take too much roadwork though lol
Chavez Jr doesn't any personal style of his own. He tries to fight like his father. That would mean it is not a different style; just a horrible rendition.

ive been watching Vanes since he was a little boy boxing amature and he was a soldier back in the day and has become one of the best boxers around now i want to see him in bigger fights he deserves it
Vanes was punching holes through the head Chavez Jr, with speed and power... Julio had his moments though too... If Vanes just had better defense overall he’d be hard to beat. He uses the philly shell to cover up, but doesn’t roll his shoulder to actually utilize it the way it’s supposed to work, so it leaves his head exposed and vulnerable for the right hand - especially when he stands straight up and doesn’t change levels. He’s all offense for the most part, but his offensive game is dangerous. Dude can punch and move his feet well. Good angles too.

Great sparring! Less defensive but they throw fast combo's,they land most of their punches. Both are pushing the limits, impressive..
