Great video about the R5II. Good to finally have a review by someone who praises the focus etc. and doesn’t try to prove to themselves that it has a dynamic range issue.
Thank you Rod! Well, I never read other reviews before my testing so as not to be influenced. So I am not aware of any problem with dynamic range, I haven't noticed any during those seven or so days of testing. But to be fair, here is a (automatic) translation of what I wrote in my (Czech only) text review of the camera: It's an evolutionary camera, not a revolutionary one ...you can't expect a dramatic jump in the quality of JPG photos - the point about evolution, not revolution, applies to the quality of photos, at least in JPG. I admit, I was kind of thinking that with a supermachine this long in development, there should be a visible jump in the quality of regular photos at first glance, but there isn't. Great photos, yes, but a drastic leap forward, no (I admit it was a bit naive, but many people will be thinking along similar lines). www.fotoguru.cz/canon-r5-mark-ii-recenze/
Anyone who thinks this camera has a dynamic range “issue” is someone who either doesn’t own the camera or hasn’t learned how to work within a tool’s limitations. A one-camera-that-does-it-all-perfectly doesn’t exist and never will. Fortunately, there are literally hundreds of other cameras out there that excel where others don’t..
Of course, the quality of the photo with this ISO level would be poor, but sometimes it can be a lifesaver... And I think it could be used... Especially if we used raw...
