August 2021 Soap Challenge Club *fast* video - Snakeskin Squwiggle

Hoooeray! It’s time for me to talk to much about my #soapchallengeclub entry !
This is my entry into the Advanced Category
‘Snakeskin Squwiggle’
I meant to try this a few more times, but with work being very busy, and a large soap release… it just wasn’t meant to be. 🥺
….Which makes me extra sad, as it was taught by one of my most favorite humans on earth, Lisa from @idreaminsoap .
I used Pink Grapefruit from @wholesalesuppliesplus as I initially (incorrectly) thought that I wanted a flowing lighter trace.
🚨 Wrong. 🚨
Peep photo 4 where it has my ‘first’ attempt...
(In quotes as I used 1 batch of soap, and split into 2 attempts with the same colors, as I realized fast that my trace was way too fluid, hence the more green and grey 1st soap. )
My second attempt is my entry, but I decided to plane some of the top off, as I didn’t really have that delicious knitted texture I’ve seen, and I was hoping a more interesting pattern with more blue was lurking… and it was!!
I planned some down more then others to get more variety in the bar faces, as I was fascinated how different they were with each swipe. (You can sorta see the height differences in the 3rd picture)
They remind me a little of the bottom of a snake, how the scales sorta ripple in a line with different but similar patterns, hence its name.

At first, the design looked quite disastrous to me; 🤣 but after saponification, the soaps turned out to be interesting and beautifully artsy. 👍
The diagonal approach is a smart move! 💚 the colour choice.
