My dentist from NJ told us when moving to Florida to see if there were any dental schools in the area. We did not listen to her and when I found a dentist that wasn't a good one we remembered what my dentist from NJ had said and luckily there was a dental school close by. They were terrific. You paid a small amount. Of course, they couldn't do everything I needed but my husband was fine. The only thing was it took lots of time waiting around. Also they were able to recommended a good dentist in the area for my needs and she was great.

Nanny I do love your hair up it shows your beautiful face . I’m looking forward to question answers on Saturday or Sunday.Oh Nanny dental work is so expensive I have implants and caps. I won’t even tell you the cost but really when it was all done and said I am very happy with it but I don’t know what route to tell you to go on so the best of luck in finding, a wonderful dentist My daughter was a dental hygienist and nanny. Take care of those teeth because they can cause so many other problems.

I could not buy chives, either, Nanny. But I had a few in the garden. Chives are great because they will multiply over the years. After that first year, I was able to harvest several crops a year, which is great. So now I dehydrate them and they last all year till the next spring. Now some of the dentist offices are offering dental insurance you can take out with them. I think you pay some every month and then it will cover so much on the bill like regular insurance. I love your silver jewelry.♥️
Yes, we LOVE Asian cooking!!! We lived in Hong Kong for quite a long time and were so lucky to experience Chinese customs and life, and cooking. I believe that asian soups are extremely healthy and easy to prepare. Nanny, there are wonderful recipes and demonstrations on the web... keep up the good work!!! NannyT

Love the Sloan family story. How sweet "Unclaimed Treasure". I had an unclaimed treasure cousin and my dad owned the rumble car in the 40's. My brother and I got a ride in the rumble seat once and then my dad returned it for another car right away because he felt it was dangerous. Of course we were just little kids at the time. I missed that car. My grandma had long white hair as well, I loved to brush it and she put it in braids as well. The video you shared "Aging and Feeling Invisible" where you talked about the circle and how your circle gets smaller was very wise and both my husband and I listened to your advice.
I really love your hairstyle, Nanny! It is so chic!! I’m the same way, loving herbs so much, basil always reminds me of my dear Greek grandfather 💙🇬🇷.
As for aging tips, PLEASE tell them my 2 cents: call, call and call your grandparents!! It gets very lonely living alone and without much financial resources. Time weighs very heavy, but a call (NOT text)
will really brighten up their lives! That’s worth all the money and time in the world!! If you happen to live close, PLEASE visit. You won’t believe HOW MUCH you will help them cheer/brighten up!!

You were just “on fire” this morning ❤. Your neighbor story was so great. We had an elderly neighbor next door who ran a boarding house of sorts. I loved her and all these years later I remember so well how I would run next door and watch her do her ironing on her ironing machine. My dad would mow her lawn and she and my mom would drink ice tea, while sitting in the shade.
Ahhh you are making me nostalgic thinking of ironing fresh clothes just brought in from the outside and sprinkling them with scented water for a nice smell. The kitchen curtains would be moving from the slight breeze coming in. How I loved those times. 💕

Hi Nanny and Moose this is a full video lots of tales and as usual your looking glamorous,lovely meal I miss my wok that I gave away and wished I hadn’t . And like you I get rid of bags off clothes then get very sad as miss some things I loved . I’m just struggling with a beautiful cat that has turned up in my garden obviously lost crying and running to try come in the house but my cat just not having it and trying to kill it but my friend has found someone with a scanner to see if it’s chipped so can find fingers crossed who owns it . Easier said than done with my cat following me around as no way does he want it anywhere near the house not going to be easy 🤷♂️😿loved this video thank you 💕💕😘

When I was a kid, in S. Calif, we lived next door to an elderly lady. She was probably in her 80s. I loved going over to visit her. She would show me her photo albums, and as she turned the pages, she always did a little whistle under her breath. I was mesmerized. She wore long dangley earrings which fascinated me. I was a wierd kid. Ha Ha. I will always remember her, and now I'm about the same age as she was..... Nanny, you are so cute with your recipes. I will be anxious to watch your cooking lesson. I don't know any cheap dental programs for seniors, but surely there are some out there. I pay thru the nose. So expensive. I can't imagine the vet program does not help with that. Stay well. ❤
Nanny, loved your video and I love those green onions and put them in a jar of cold water when I get home and they continue to grow and I clip them off the top all the time... using them to cook and they grow overnight more green as the roots are basically growing in the water nourishment. I refresh the cold fresh water each two or three days by dumping the water and flooding the jar again with wonderful cold fresh water that is oxygenated and keeps the roots happy. I cannot believe how they grow truly, it's amazing. I can keep a bunch growing for about three weeks and then I use the white ends as well in cooking them.
AS FAR AS DENTAL FOR YOU AND MOOSIE........try United Concordia. We are retired military and also retired from the aircraft industry as a second retirement. United Concordia does offer to us at a decent rate and with better coverage than we ever had prior and we had decent coverage. My Vet just had two root canals done in the past four months, emergency type situation and it was so awesome. I know the VA is so bogged down if they offer things the wait is unreal in most cases. I hope that helps a bit.

It’s so good to see you back on your feet and thriving again! Dad used to make leeks and potatoes.
I’d like to contribute to your lesson for your friend on aging. I think the hardest thing for me is the feeling of being invisible. And advice from me is to make sure young people begin serious saving for their retirement years! I’m nearly 75, in poor health, and have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet.

👋 Nanny I so love it when you go chasing those rabbits the stories are so interesting it seems like I can remember the old couple that lived in our neighborhood as a child they would always hand over a wrapped Christmas gift over the fence it was so exciting he also was the insurance salesman that would go around the neighborhood collecting insurance payments he had a black bag ill,never forget it. I love the wok theirs plenty of yummy recipes for using 1xof those. Im loving the jewelry as always. Sorry moose is having a hard time with those teeth nanny were retired military also we have tricare for life with an additional bc/bs insurance which comes in and covers all the left overs that tricare doesn't cover. Also nanny some of the local colleges have a program that cost hardly anything out of pocket because their wanting the students to get hands on experience that's a option, Goodluck I hope moose gets some help soon. Good morning Nanny and Moose. I too would like to know about senior dental plans. I recently mailed a card back to AARP regarding this. It is interesting that insurance cancels dental when we still need it. We had always had medical, eye and dental insurance through my husband’s company. When my husband passed the medical and eye insurance continued. However the dental coverage ended. Why??? Another part of aging that is a challenge. Blessings to you both, love, Sharon

Use a cheese grater to grate the ginger root
I’ve known several families in which the oldest daughter was not allowed to marry; she had to stay home to care for the parents. Even as a child, I thought that was sad and unfair.
I recently came across frozen teaspoons of basil, garlic, and ginger in the freezer section by the veggies at my grocery store. You just pop them out and throw them in the recipe. I also have the paste including vanilla paste. Love some of these new things. Wish you luck on the dental stuff. We have the same issues here in NY.
Nanny if you have a dental school in your area or at the College they will give a discount to anyone seeking attention. Its a shame what dentist charge today. Another good video.

Chicken stir fry is one of my favourites using bok choi, mushrooms , spring onion , carrot , bean sprouts , ginger , garlic , cabbage , soy sauce , you can also use the noodles and l fry in sesame seed oil adds a nice flavour ! All VA hospital facilities have social workers on staff who may be able to help with Moosie's dental needs. There may be a list of dentist outside the VA who donate services to our veterans. I see you are in So Cal, so Long Beach Veterans Hospital may be a good place to start. I'm married to a disabled veteran and as you may know navigating through the system can be difficult. I pray you get a solution soon.

I have a question, and this is definitely an aging-related problem: Do you have trouble fastening the clasp on the necklaces that won't just go over your head? I have lots of pretty necklaces that I rarely wear because I can't get those little things fastened! My husband has glaucoma now & can no longer help. I tried the magnetic clasps, but they are so heavy that the magnet works around to the front constantly. If anyone has some other ideas, I'm all ears!
As for advice to young people, I would encourage them to have patience with their elderly grandparents because believe me, they are frustrated with all the things they can no longer do (or the speed they used to do them). Make friends with an aging neighbor, and spend an hour a week visiting with them. My MIL & mother used to love when I fixed the back of their hair because they could no longer reach up to do it, or when I would fasten their pierced earrings. (Hard to hold onto those little backs!)

You may need a better supplement insurance to go with Medicare if yours doesn’t cover dental. I have wellcare supplement and it covers lots of dental procedures. It has no monthly premium and very low copay on medication. I have absolutely no affiliation with them other than that I am very happy with their insurance and thought I would just pass this information on to you. God bless. ❤

Hi from Annie, you are looking lovely as always goo you did some de cluttering I have been doing the same it takes time. It is very hat here in Adelaide been around 38deg C they say 40seg C for saturday that is tomorrow do not l ike this heat it is suppose to be Autumn hoping for a cooler change soon. Your asian cooking will keep you busy, I like it sometimes do stuff on my curved frypan. There is a nice snack type dish easy to make it is tofu choppe in to inch squares then sheets of seaweed kelp from the pkt it i s dried you wrap it around tofu couple times and dip it in to batter then deep fry and season it is delicious. Can eat hot or cold. Nice dipped in soy sauce too.

I keep ginger in the freezer and grate it on a fine rasp as needed. Just a thought, previous employment pension plans sometimes offer dental benefits, I'm sure that you have investigated those avenues.🤔

Nanny I am 75 yrs old and I bought Ameritos Dental Insurance. Very cheap and it paid $2000 on my lower implants. I should have kept it.
I also admired older ladies when I was younger, even as a young adult. They just seemed more real, like real women with something (I can't explain!!). You are looking so well, Nanny. I remember going on an Art meander in South Africa one afternoon with my good friend and there were tons of artists with beautiful homes showing off their wares and most of the ladies were older and inspiring. I love your stories. I lived in New Jersey , Newark. After the riot we moved to Camden. I learned and traveled all over Jersey. Yes The Garden State was something.
