It's that throw away culture Kevin. Just because it's broken don't mean it doesn't have a use in other ways. That's probably why you don't see to many repair shops around. When I was growing up if something broke you couldn't just run to town and buy another. You spent the time and fixed it. In your case you bring beautiful knives back to life. Keep up the good work.
Yes sir ... If ya broke it ya fixed it ...............
Thank you. I like to give them back their dignity.
I bought my dad a Case pocket knife probably close to 30 years ago now....He kept it in his truck and with a few months I notice alot of rust...I was really feeling bad thinking I spent big money 💰 probably 30 bucks for this knife and thought it should never rust...I found the address to case in the paper work and wote them a letter I was around 10-12 years old explaining my situation...to my surprise about two weeks later after I forgot all about it I received a brand new pocket knife from Case and a letter that said thank you for the letter hope this knife doesn't rust and don't forget to oil it....I've been a Case fan ever since...they didn't have to send me a new knife but they took the time and earned a lifetime customer
Awesomeness…thanks for sharing this beautiful story.
Love those folding hunters, Old Timer's, Uncle Henry's, Buck 110's, Case folding hunters. They're one of my favorite patterns. I got a 110 when I was 16 and lost it within a year, still makes me sick thinking about it. Great video Kevin, stay sharp brother. God bless
Thank you!! God Bless!
Another knife life saved! You make it look easy Doc!👍🏻😂
Hi Kevin. That repair turned out very nice. What a beautiful knife. The corkscrew with the French words on it is called a Sommeliers tool. It is used for opening wine bottles. The small blade is for cutting the foil, the corkscrew removes the cork and the other piece helps remove the cork.
Thank you!!
That Ixl, is beautiful, the back springs are designed that way so the smaller blades use one spring each but the main blade uses both. An excellent design.
Yes your correct some guys call them splitbacks. They are not easy to get right alot of whittler knives are made that way.
😮 Amazing, I had that knife laying on my desk for 2 years, 😂.
I'm happy you gave it a new life. Good job!!!
Great video DOC.
Semper Fi Marine 💪...
Kevin, I was on the live giveaway last night(Monday), first off thank you for everything you have done for us all. The videos, your time, knowledge, and passion for knives. Thank you for the giveaway you held and all the cool things you gave away . I felt frustrated at times watching the comments… I apologize for the way some of them people were acting , and although I didn’t win anything I had fun watching you do your first one. You did great. Thank you again for all you do, and God bless you!
Thank you
Good job Kevin put that in the auction for mother's I'll be bidding on it be safe and healthy God bless America 🇺🇸 🙏
Not a dang thing wrong with that knife now. I would carry it everyday 😎👍.
That’s beautiful-and rewarding to see!
Man that bone is beautiful on the broken knife, fine showpiece! The long all steel knife is a bartenders knife. Great job on Uncle H.
waiters as well
That lb7 turned out nice. I'm becoming a big fan of schrade knives.
Hello tanner. Thats a nice job on the schrade and thank you for your service justin.
Nice! The knife with the wood handles is an LB7. The knife with the staglon handles is an LB8. The same knife with the Old Timer handles is a 7OT. All fine knives.
Nice work doc. See you soon Kevin.🇺🇲🔪🌲🔥
That first knife in the unboxing is a nice pne them handles are awesome.
Just checking in.
Nothing like a transplant to start off a monday morning ☕️. Good work doc!
Great opportunity
I discovered Chicago knife works has parts for schrade knives (blades) and possibly others. Old timer, and Uncle Henry are schrade brands too. Worth a look.
Awesome job Kevin. Nice gifts.
Awesome save, doc! Knew you’d get that torsion bar out.
Looking forward to the give away, I’ll be there!

Knife doctor gave all knifes a purpose for living
A few years back there was a thrift store and she had a display of knives with broken blades. I didn't think that they would sell but they did.
Great work saving another life of another knife! Good Job Doc!
Beautiful! Love to see an old knife resurrection!
Good job knife Dr, I was hoping you could get that piece out. Turned out great. Take care .😊
Another knife brought back to life to ride in the pocket once again.
She a beauty Doc! 👍
That was a great video on watching you doing your skill rebuilding on the knife
I think that knife was originally part of a commemorative set that included a 144UH. The KY part of the serial number = Kentucky. Excellent restoration!!!
Nice repair job, Kevin!
Great video doc! God bless you and your family
Good Morning, time for a surgery, the Doc is on it.
Thank you for your service, sir! We love watching your videos and You've taught us so much about knife restoration! Tanner is very fortunate to have you! And so are your subscribers!

I have an old Uncle Henry knife that needs cleaned and sharpened. I would love to send it to you for a good cleaning and repair
Can I make first comment? Good morning Doc!
I just got a USA made Old Timer 25OT with a sheath for $15 on a local auction. A couple of days later a kid I work with gave me a USA made Old Timer 18OT he found in an old truck he bought
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Great project brother 👍🏻 😊
Great job on the repair, if I tried something like that I would be out of 2 knives. Don’t tell anyone I work with but I’m going to sneak into a conference room at 6:30 for I can watch The Knife Doctor giveaway. 😂😂
Your the best Kevin 👍❤️✌️🇨🇦
That knife turned out beautifully awesome work Kevin. You have inspired me to fix an clean up old knifes I really enjoy it. Thank you Kevin for your service an for the inspiration. God bless an have a wonderful day.
I've got two old hobo knives I would love to be fixed up!
Another Canadian package Amazing
Beautiful work as always Kevin. Hey so I might have a helpful tip? I've used it to good success personally so maybe something you would want to look into. But ELECTRIC DUSTER! Dude these things blast out air like crazy! They really help get out nasty gunk, just another tool to potential add to your knife clean up regiment lol. Compressed air would work just as well, but I like how small electric dusters are. (Metro Ed500 is what I use)
Thank you Doc, see you tonight.
Good morning! Awesome fix.👏👏😊
amazing work better than new because it still has character
This was one of my favorite videos. Awesome stuff what a great fix up on that beautiful knife!! Take care brother God Bless.🇺🇸
Great job
...WOW..
Good morning doc, very interesting video a greeting from Italy ⚔️
Nice video.
Good morning Doc, the AF Logistics Command is a branch within the Air Force that is responsible for the storage, depot level maintenance, spare parts procurement for the aircraft and missiles operated and maintained by the Air Force.
Also just an observation when you are installing a new pin in a knife like that where you grind a point on the rod if you drive the pin down to where the point is on the long side you can then cut it off and will have a piece of pin material with a point already on it saving you the process for the next time. Just a casual observation from an old retired Air Force technician.
Thank you and thank you for your service!!
I have the same Uncle Henry LB7 as my primary hunting knife. There outstanding! Good work!
Great op
Came out great
Love your energy and approach to get the work done. Keep it up.! Your knife collection has grown quickly. I know you do most repairs from scrap knives....have you ever tried to procure new blades and springs, etc. from the manufactures?
Thank you so much. Not really, mostly just use old knives
I just found a kliens and son Chicago sheep's foot knife usa. Clean up real good
Fixing to sharpen it up just like when you found in one of your videos
Awesomeness!!
Awesome!
Great work Doc.💯🏆👍
Awesome video Kevin thank you. Great stag corkscrew knife just beutifull love it and ixl just amazing knives. I'm so glad u did this video cause I have a lb5 2 of them one broke torsen bar and other broke blade so have everything I need so cool brother
Nice job
Thank you!!
Excellent video brother!🤙
The large corkscrew is known as a "Church Key" in My parts.
If I had a dime for every brass fitting I used, never dull on. I'd be a rich man.😊
Good morning doc , have you ever tried emery cloth on the brass bolsters , that's what I use to polish marks out of my knives.
Never have.
Just bought a beautiful parker and son k407 with filework, seller did not tell me the spring was broken/weak unfortunately. Locks up good, but will not snap closed :(
*edit, spring is fine but i cannot for the life of me figure out why she wont snap closed like a buck 110, its not gritty and the spring has bounce
Great craftsmanship, to recover that beautiful Schrade knife. I am a collector and I have a few LB7s. Thanks to you I am going to be encouraged to repair an old one with a newer one and I don't like it as much. Question, what metal is the new bar you put on the knife made of?
Great video!!
I’m not sure. I just took one out of an old parts knife to repair a better one.
That is a rabbit corkscrew. The part you thought was a bottle opener. Rests on the lip on the bottle. After you screw the corkscrew in the you push down on the back of the handle to lever the cork from the bottle.
Thank you!!
Love your videos. Any ideas on how to fix vertical wobble on lb7 when locked open?
Tap the blade pin a little.
@@theknifedoctor I will try it. I have used that method for side to side wiggle. Didn’t think of it for vertical wiggle when locked.
Kevin What is the bu your right that is tan with a open blade
It’s a 722 spitfire custom made from Buck
What chemical or oil do you use to put your knives in storage.
I don’t.
How much, Kevin?
Very nice.. some help me were to find the auction....when it's going
Next one is May 7th on WhatNot.
I have a Schrade old-timer lockback that I found in a drawer after my father-in-law passed. The lockback spring will need to be removed and either cleaned up or replaced.
What size is the brass pin you used as the center pin?
I believe I can tap the old one out as you did and then come back and reinstall the lockback spring.
Not sure. I buy a variety pack on Amazon. amzn.to/3BZucaK
@@theknifedoctor many thanks!! I want to get the knife in shape so one of his grandkids can have it.
Love you and the videos Kevin!
Where do you. get your knife pins?
I order them from Amazon. Here is a link for the ones that I use amzn.to/3Wjqn7T
Hey Knife Doctor ! wonder if you could help me out, I found a Old Schrade lock blade in really bad condition #88940 on bolster , what is the rod/pin size for the lock bar, and the rod/pin size for the scales, any help would be very helpfull,,, TY :) Going to restore the knife if I can, when I found it 30 years ago in a junk box, I took it home and put it in one of my junk boxes, now I want to fix it back up, when found it was missing it's scales and pins, and the spring for the lock bar was missing, and the pin for the lock bar was missing as well , so it's going to be fun trying to restore it !
That would be a fun project for you.
W 84416 serial # on my Schrade USA LB7..how can I date it.?.THX..
I’m not sure. I’ll have to research it.
Bar tool or bartender
