This just shows how brutally efficient Rory is. Some of these other Utah guys would’ve made 150 episodes over 6 months do build that unit and he did it in what, 2-3? Mint.
definitely. it's like he's said before - the videos are showing us what his work involves, he doesn't invent content for views....and we all appreciate him for it. this truck is a perfect example of that.
Those channels are as much or more about fab than they are about recovery. 😂😂 I am curious how much more work Rory will do after Matt's event when he's no longer limited by the rules. I haven't seen them, but "Jalopy Jeep" doesn't sound like a massively upgraded class. 🤔
I'm impressed with mini-mater! Don't pay so much attention to the naysayers, Rory. Yours is one of the best sites out there. I have been following you for years and and I always enjoy your content. Keep plugging along guys
Mini Mater really seems to be doing the job. Anybody that has been watching knows that your goal is NO damage to a customers vehicle. When a power steering pump cuts lose, real bad things happen under the hood. Nice recoveries, Thanks for Sharing
MiniMater sure came together quickly. Everyone and his dog has a tubing bender, but Rory, you are an artist with one. The fit and finish you attained on this build, and Robby's wrecker are amazing.
I can only imagine how fresh and clean the dessert must smell after a rain/snow storm which you experienced during the white jeep recovery.... Your so very fortunate to be able to do your work in such a beautiful country.... My uncle had a sheep ranch in a high dessert area of South East Idaho.... I was there a few times when it rained and I have my memories....
Really digging that Plexiglass roof panel. Lots of light in the truck cabin. I hope it won't be too hot in the summer. The beautiful vista's in the sunlight give way to ominous wet, slippery obstacles in this damp weather. Trail Mater mini is keeping it real.
I think I’m liking Mini Mater. A bit of tweaking and fine tuning I know you’ll do, and it will be a welcome addition to the fleet. It performed well considering the wet surfaces. I’m impressed. Mike ought to have biceps as big as Arnold’s with all the unaided steering he has to do on rescues.
What a great team. You decide to build a smaller tow truck. So before we can blink, you build it and it works. Other channels say they are going to build something amazing and 2 years later they have not got past deciding what brand of tyres to use.
Because Rory designs for go not for show, but it still looks good in the end because form follow functions and when Rory makes it ,all the angles just seem right.
@@pauljohnstone4723 I believe the major difference is Rory is a recovery guy who does UA-cam, as opposed to a UA-camr who does recoveries. One needs equipment that works so he can make money, the others make money by showing you the equipment that they are building.
I flat-out LOVE the new Lil' Tugger! Granted, there's gonna be times when another of Rory's rigs will be the better choice, but it's really nifty. Really like the tube work, the fenders, and the panels! Can't believe how quick the guys threw it together. Perfect for narrower trails and lighter weight recoveries...😉👍
I look forward to seeing Rory's amazing problem solving skills cope with this awesome new little light wrecker and it's limits. May the Force be with my Earthly Jedi hero.
It still amazes me how you can pull another Jeep up a wet slippery slope. Your smoothness and experience go a long way. Like the new Mater Tot. Nice to have a smaller vehicle to go after those side by sides.
Mini-Mater is baddass. If it wasn't for serpentine belts, you might have been able to remove the one for the pump and Mike would had better braking. Nice job guys!
The Internet: Yer doin' it wrong! Rory: You're welcome to come up here and do it. 😉 I'm torn between 'Mini Mater' or 'Mater Tot'. Both are solid names. 👍🏼And like others have mentioned, I appreciate that Rory and the Boys didn't turn the build into a months-long extravaganza.
M&M aka MiniMater is an Awesome Mini Tow Truck!!! It may be Mini.... But it gets the job done!!! Thank Rory and the crew... Awesome... Awesome build!!! 🙂🙃🤪😜😝🫣🫡😴
Just insulate the Frame near your head withfoam tubing like used to insulate pipes and will reduce Hum in Frame and keep you from adding more lumps when hit bumps
Mini Mater looks good! As a fabricator myself, I've always used 2" solid square for my hitches. Cut an angle on the end, bend a piece of 3/4" flat bar to accommodate any drop you need welded on the end. The solid square has tighter tolerances to fit the receiver.... resulting in virtually no noise. Keep it up guys!!
MiniMater is truly COOL! I'm sure you've heard this a gazillion times but, i think you should invest in head set communication because of how often you pull a rig that way. Great job guys, love the scenery even when it's inclement weather!
Just telling my wife Rory is in my opinion the best off road drive I have seen. I love some of the other UA-camrs I watch, but I have seen Rorry drive places I would never be able to rid. He would scare me to death. One of my bucket list items would be able to need him and him take me for a ride on some less crazy places he goes.
I love mini Mater keep building on it Rory it will be useful just for trail repairs and such it's already useful wear the mics even inside the truck pros do it that way!😊Lonewolf Canada A'ho 🇨🇦
I will enjoy watching y’all and the desert shape that cherry tomato into the proven car harvesting machine that you develop. I see three different upgrades in Cherry Mader’s future. Leaf springs, axles, improved torque.
Whenever I tow with a unibody vehicle that Hitch clunk drives me batty! They make a clamp that you can put on the hitch and you tighten down with a one wrench that rolls them all 3/4 in! It clamps the hitch shaft tight to the bottom of the receiver opening. It takes all the chatter out of the hitch and makes it a lot more peaceful! I'm sure you can make one or buy one for 20 bucks but it might help without annoyance. Love the Minnie mater! Can't wait to see what It can do!
same here, it really messes with my OCD 😂 ...but me being me, I tend towards the cheapest fix. and turns out 3 wraps of insulation tape lasts nearly a year before it rubs through enough to warrant reapplying. also makes it much easier to take out when there's a bit of dirt or rust packed in the gap.
Ya learn something new everyday. I thought that the grip going up the rocks would be from dry tires creating friction on dry rocks. I really didn’t expect to see Mini Mater climb up those wet slick rocks. Watching Trail Mater videos I always have to be prepared to be amazed.
Mini mater...love it.. wet rock is sketchy and pain in the..well you know...always love watching what ever yall are doing..be it recovery or trail riding or just sitting in shop talking about whatever.. always good content
I love Mini-Me, oops I mean Minimater😉 Minimater is small like the Buggy, boomstick on it like Trailmater but is drives like neither one of them,,, Minimater is its own person and Rory is going to adopt (or adapt) to it. Great job Rory, this Minimater and your vids are awesome 😊👍
You guys did it the right way. The Mini Mater proved itself properly. You can hear the locker. It works. It's a cool rig. I would love it without the boom and insert bed sides and floor... be an awesome hunting rig to haul my quad atv. Probably wouldn't need to use the quad as much, that's ok. It's cool. You could use a radio headset, lol... Beautiful country there. I would love to have the capability, but I wouldn't use it. Don't want to break it, lol. 😎👍
So glad to see the JK back in use. I wish you would have called it tater tot! But I'm sure that's not the first time it's been said either. You keep on doing what you do and let the armchair know it alls enjoy themselves. Cheers

And it's like perfect
The only one we've seen him take a long time with is the AA wrecker for Robbie Layton.
If it's a Mini Mater, Then Does that make it a "Mater-Tott" ???
MaterTot it is!
I like it. 👍👍
That was good 😂
Perfect
Lol “ BABY BOOMER”
I'm impressed with mini-mater! Don't pay so much attention to the naysayers, Rory. Yours is one of the best sites out there. I have been following you for years and and I always enjoy your content. Keep plugging along guys
Mini Mater is already a big hit. Need to add chain steps to make it official. You guys “rock”! Literally. Keep it up y’all are awesome!
Audience: "How many recovery rigs do you need?"
Rory: "YES"
Keep up the great work. I love your content 👍🔥
The more the merrier!
All of them.
It's simple math. N = the number of rigs you have and therefore N +1 = the number of rigs you need.
Only one at a time 😂
Mini Mater really seems to be doing the job. Anybody that has been watching knows that your goal is NO damage to a customers vehicle. When a power steering pump cuts lose, real bad things happen under the hood. Nice recoveries, Thanks for Sharing
That Mini Mater is gonna be, by far, the coolest build at the Off Road Games.
Shouldn't have given the others a heads up.
3 years in a row, best entertainment for the beginning of Spring every year.
@@TassyDeval The "others" are still building theirs. Rory is already showing his actually works.
It amazes me what you ask your rigs to do, and amazes me more that your rigs just say "roger that" and do it. I love your content!
It's the driver skills that make it happen.
We LOVE Mini Mater ❤❤❤❤

Snap on a Sunbrella Cloth cover in the summer!
@@svinevitable um whats a sunbrella?

I'd totally build a Mini-Mater if I had the skills. Not that I have a use for one but it's quickly becoming my favorite mini wrecker.
So cool
Or you could come up with your own ideas to not build
@@gregorholmes1837 how about i just leave it as a compliment to the creator of the machine.
Mini Mater getting it ✅
@@gregorholmes1837 didnt realize rory had a patent on tow trucks

You made a mini wrecker it does a good job Had the same ideal 20 years ago but everybody thought I was nuts I’m glad you did it
Trail maters little son is pulling its weight.👍👍👍😊
17:00. Stunning waterfalls! Nice videography! Thanks for sharing! Again! ❤
A good old fashioned drag out. Those are always my favorite.
That is a great little tow rig, thw size is not going to do what a full size rig can but is still doing a lot. Love mini Mater can't wait to see more.

sounds like youre wasting your time watching those channels
That's easy - they use the tire the sponsor provides then tell you it's the best tire ever. Yeah, I'm looking at you Pattie....
To be fair, they never did finish the OnX challenge build.

Beutiful job Rory and Mike.
Mini Mater is so freaking cool.

i dont think he will push it past its limits. hes got larger tow trucks. he'll prob use it for side by sides and on trails that the dulys wont fit
Good afternoon Rory , Mike and Shawn! And of course thumbs UP!!!
For a smaller lighter rig, Mini Mater is very capable!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦

What a great asset to the fleet, fits the bill, more flexibility to the operation. Tight tracks no problem Well done Rory and team
Well done fellas, another excellent recovery vehicle added to the fleet 👍
