1. 1 The LORD is King! Let earth rejoice!
Let islands dance with gladness!
2 Thick clouds surround His mighty voice;
He reigns amid the darkness.
His throne is founded to endure,
On stones of righteous judgment.
3 His fire goes forth and wages war,
To signal His advancement,
And burns His foes with torment.
2. 4 His lightnings blast the world with light;
The earth beholds in terror,
It quakes before the splendid sight.
5 Behold, the LORD draws nearer.
Like molten wax, the mountains run;
God rules His territory.
His truth is written in the sun,
6 The heavens tell His story;
All peoples see His glory.
3. 7 Put all who serve false gods to shame,
And all who bow to carvings.
Bow down, you gods, before His name,
And worship One worth serving.
8 When Zion hears, she celebrates,
Her daughters sing Your precepts.
Your name, O LORD, she elevates.
9 You make all men Your subjects;
Their gods, to You, are insects.
4. 10 You men who love the LORD, hate sin!
Come walk before Him purely!
He guards His saints from evil men;
He keeps their souls securely.
11 He sows the righteous fields with light,
And upright hearts with pleasure.
12 Rejoice in GOD, you men of right,
Give thanks when you remember
His holy name forever.
