@@flarestorm9417 actually it’s possible only the plumber relatives were invited because I don’t think until the finale of Season 4 Ben’s parents didn’t know aliens were a thing
Show wise, the creators didn't see the need to reveal Ben's parents so early in the series before their debut in the final episode (Goodbye n Good riddance). We didn't even get to see Gwen's parents till much later in Alien Force. But if u wanna go by story plot, this is a human-alien wedding so it's likely confidential to Alien n Plumber relatives only.

@@theomnimushroom5290 honestly i found it weird that it was sooo rare for ben to get a transformation of an alien that was already shown in the show separately
I think they do use Race Against Time music again in Season 4, another instance I can think of is that when Ben turns into XLR8 in the Negative 10 part 1, the theme from the Grey Matter transformation in Race Against Time plays. There may be more but that is the only other super-specific example I know The instruments used throughout the entire season is also very Race Against Time (in the Stinkyfly scene there’s that cymbal-ish crash noise that is used incredibly frequently in both the show and the movie), I assume they used the same band to record the OST for Season 4 as the movie. Just as an extra-effort for the show’s send off kind of thing.
@@steelsaber54 no not just the transformation motif (which is obviously very common throughout the entire OS), it is literally the exact same instrumentation and effects added to the standard transformation theme to create this specific rendition that was used for Grey Matter in Race Against Time They’ll use different versions on occasion (e.g Ghostfreak’s first appearance has a creepier sounding one) but the one used for XLR8 in this episode is completely unique to this one scene, it’s only other appearance is in Race Against Time.
I will say however that there are some minute differences on the percussion side of things. specifically, the series uses a bit more cymbal whereas in the movie there's less clank and cymbal and you can hear the secondary brass instruments better.

"Big Fat Alien Wedding" was one of the few favorite episodes I had in OG Ben 10, and one I remember prominently when it first aired. As a kid who was always bored at weddings thought "man, aliens at a wedding would be so cool!" -- and coming back to rewatch it in my 20s is just a nostalgic blast. And even though I questioned why Gwen and Ben's parents weren't present, hearing the fact that the bride is an alien and the groom is a plumber -- it makes sense (along with the fact that Gwen's mom just isn't jazzed about aliens)
I think Hector is supposed to be the guy that sits in the water tank and is dropped in (making him younger while also giving entertainment). Which leads to him being surprised when Max wanted to go in the tank.
If there's something great Omniverse did (excluding everything involving Bullfrag since he's awesome) is bringing back Lucy Mann, giving her an actual personality and making best girl material.
another contender of thigns omniverse did right: - rook - feedback (at least when he wasn't kinda hogging the spotlight) - molestache and pesky dust when they revealed their actual powers - gravattack is a honorable mention given the show rarely did anything with him despite his powers making him potentially OP And personally Bloxx (i know people hate him, but i like him the way he is)
A possible reason for the dunk tank with fountain of youth water in it in "don't drink the water" might be that Hector needed the water himself, given that it wears off. Seems like a neat way to keep it around, if a bit foolish.
@@kirbyfazendoummoonwalk9214 Depends on how much he needs per day but I mean a dunk tank is not a very good idea to keep people from being exposed to water then makes them younger
@@kirbyfazendoummoonwalk9214 true but he’d need a really big bottle and depending on where it was located he might have to walk really far. I feel like it would have been smarter to just keep it in like a cooler or something
Maybe until end of ultimate alien omniverse stop doing it which plot wise makes a little bit more sense as villains might attack bens aliens weakness by knowing Which alien name is which alien thus making Ben calling his alien names abit stupid
Nah, he practically says the aliens name on every transformation ... especially for the ones he just tried (i.e., cries Swampfire the first time just because...)
I think the reason Hector has the water in a dunk tank is for two reasons. The first is to be able to use the water on him anytime he needs it without constantly needing to head to the fountain of youth and risking it's exposure by constantly heading towards to reverse his age. The 2nd is to give him a good reason to keep an eye on it without him constantly needing to either be in the cave like a hermit or needing some other alibi to have a large supply of the water not only near his person, but also to stay relatively close to the fountain. This is just my head canon, hope it makes sense
@@mjcsandboxgames4021 just keep it inconspicuous. Keep it with a bunch of other jugs of normal water and idk slap a label on one of them or make one of them bent by kicking it so you know which one is the fountain of youth water.
I'm surprised you didn't point out how Betty Jean's line about not trusting aliens is straight up contradicted from Alien Force onwards due to aliens literally being allowed to become Plumbers. When you first get to AF and meet Magister Labrid, you would probably think "Okay, it's been 5 years. Maybe things have changed." But then the possibility of that being true is thrown out the window by the time Labrid shows up in the UA episode Moonstruck, where it's confirmed that it was apparently okay for aliens to become Plumbers even BEFORE Max joined them. Like……. what the actual fuck dude? You couldn't have replaced Labrid with Devin or something?
UAF has a lot or contradictions with the OG series. OV did it's best fixing this one by showing that the Plumbers started to recruit alien during the 5 year time-skip, my best explanation for "Moonstruch" is Labrid was just a honorary Plumber at that time(like Xylene).
@@paulosm7070 no they’re the same organisation, the Plumbers only started recruiting alien members during the 5 year time skip, before that the most an alien could be was an honorary member like Xylene. I don’t know where the idea that they were two different organisations came from but it didn’t come from the series, crew members or any official media, at most it’s a fan theory.
@@paulosm7070 it started on Earth as a task force to combat extraterrestrial and supernatural threats, it became an intergalactic organisation during the 5 year time skip between the Original Series and Alien Force.
That edited sequence of Max was amazing, I wasn’t expecting it and almost spilled my drink from laughing. Also this was a shorter video, but I really enjoy both these episodes, pretty great video too.
That plot hole in “Don’t Drink the Water” always bothered me. Why on earth would that guy fill the dunk tank with the Fountain of Youth water? There was no reason to do that whatsoever! Also I think Charmcaster didn’t get old because she was never older than a teenager. Hex could be over 100 for all we know and used magic to stay young. Charmcaster was born only 15 years ago. Also Kid Arms and Babyblast. Edit: I just thought of something if Joel is Max’s nephew…. Is that Vera’s grandson? Or is the mom or dad their sibling? The Tennyson family tree is complex.
I always liked the Sludges. Maybe the fact it reminds me a lot of Clayface, more so from The Batman. And it made me want Ben to have a transformation like that at that point forward but got so jebaited. Like after the entire conflict with Z’scare and his minions and how Ben was taking their DNA, you would of think with being so close Ben would of gotten the same treatment. But nah. Which is disappointing for me cause I think the Sludges would of been an interesting transformation for Ben. Not only in power and movesets but also in personality. Could be a really good chance to explore how different alien samples can really change Ben’s personality, makes the transformation more aggressive. Maybe not cruel like with ghost freak but definitely more brutal. The family stuff I also find confusing. Mainly because of Max and Ben. Max had affairs with aliens. And Ben had the omnitrix. Don’t you think the extended family on the plumbers side would of connected the dots sooner? But yeah would of been neat to have the extended family to be more supporting cast later on. But what can you do?
That idea is so great because even aliens Ben unlocked at the start of Alien Force are in the Omnitrix, but they’re just locked. Technically, OS Ben could’ve transformed into Goop or Alien X, if he unlocked them.
Maybe as an explanation for Hecter having the fountain of youth on him was so he could stay young so nobody would suspect his ageing while also not having to rely on going underground to remain young. You could also argue that he is protecting some of it that could be either a disguise as a broken dunk tank that would be a crime to break purposefully, or as a form of blackmail if Hex knew, he would tell him to be careful, or he wastes all the water so he dies of old age and can't tell Hex where the fountain of youth is.
NGL, the wedding episode always raised so many questions as a kid. Namely, how much of Ben and Gwen's family were in the know about aliens and the plumbers particularly with the later eps regarding the parents. And would Max have even bothered/risked going to the wedding if Ben and Gwen had not found out about aliens at some point in the trip, cause they brought dress clothes with them for something, if not going to the wedding at that spot, it must have been for something else.

Very true. I honestly feel that Ben has the most training when it comes to Heatblast, considering he's one of Ben's most dangerous ones since he couldn't interact with anything without setting it on fire. But it seems in later seasons he was able to handle items without burning them. Just a subtle way of showing how far Bens progressed with the control he has on his transformations
That would be fuckin hillarious, and he just noticed it when like, a gecko fell in the water and an egg floated up, then he was like "Oooh fuck... how do i get this out of here now"
12:24 Look at Hex's head bobbing! Is he like....jamming to a song in his head or something?! I would love if in his head, while he is doing all this crazy magic, he is just like "Chickadee China. 10:32 love how he says it sounds similar to the opening of Race Against Time while I'm thinking to myself "It also sound similar to the intro music of the video"
The explanation I always thought of for the fountain of youth in a dunk tank thing is that over the years of his life, Hector built up a tolerance for the water, as hex seemed to need more and more for the full effects to stay on him, so Hector needed a full tank to dip himself in every day in order to stay young. In addition, Hector probably stayed to protect the fountain of youth as a form of self-sacrifice. Being immortal has its own set of drawbacks, as he had to watch all his men die around him eventually, and he could never truly have a family because he'd outlive them all, so Hector was probably seen as the only one noble or selfless enough to guard the fountain without being tempted to use its power for the wrong reasons.

Also I liked the detail that Female Sludge puppies look different from males in that they have the wavy antennae thingies. Better than going the cheap way out and giving them something stupid like a Bow or making them pink.
I think Grandpa Max is generally a very fit and healthy 60 year old. Thanks in part to his constant training as a plumber. But I think that he gets exhausted by the more action pacted episodes and that's why his old person problems come and go so often.

I think it’s possible they just didn’t care or couldn’t make it
I mean Gwen's mother has been shown to not be a fan of any of the alien stuff in Alien Force and Ultimate Alien. So at least for her, she probably would decline an invitation.
@@flarestorm9417 actually it’s possible only the plumber relatives were invited because I don’t think until the finale of Season 4 Ben’s parents didn’t know aliens were a thing
The Alien Force Episode “Grounded” gave me the impression Carl and Max’s relationship was very strained
A fun little thing that I’m really surprised you didn’t highlight is that when 5 year old Ben was going Stinkyfly, the dial on the Omnitrix actually showed the silhouettes for the young versions of Ben’s aliens
Really nice attention to detail
13:31 I think the idea is that he’s the only one getting dunked since he has to keep drinking or absorbing the water to remain young so he can make some money off his job as guardian

Max Prime would have been really cool to see.
Lucy Mann was one of those characters I wished would show up again, like the kid from the underwater hotel.
She did reappear in Omniverse, and she's pretty younger.

@@retroforager so I'm not the only one who wanted to see this as a transformation.
There may be more but that is the only other super-specific example I know
The instruments used throughout the entire season is also very Race Against Time (in the Stinkyfly scene there’s that cymbal-ish crash noise that is used incredibly frequently in both the show and the movie), I assume they used the same band to record the OST for Season 4 as the movie. Just as an extra-effort for the show’s send off kind of thing.
That musical motif appears throughout the series and doesn’t even have a name
@@steelsaber54 no not just the transformation motif (which is obviously very common throughout the entire OS), it is literally the exact same instrumentation and effects added to the standard transformation theme to create this specific rendition that was used for Grey Matter in Race Against Time
They’ll use different versions on occasion (e.g Ghostfreak’s first appearance has a creepier sounding one) but the one used for XLR8 in this episode is completely unique to this one scene, it’s only other appearance is in Race Against Time.
I will say however that there are some minute differences on the percussion side of things. specifically, the series uses a bit more cymbal whereas in the movie there's less clank and cymbal and you can hear the secondary brass instruments better.
It used pretty common its's the theme that me and my homies always hum when we think of ben10

Lenopan transformation for Ben would be pretty cool, IMHO (Lucy deserved more screen time, she's the first lenopan plumber, after all)
Agreed, also, Lucy isn’t as bland as I thought, she’s just a joyful character that made a great impression

A possible reason for the dunk tank with fountain of youth water in it in "don't drink the water" might be that Hector needed the water himself, given that it wears off. Seems like a neat way to keep it around, if a bit foolish.

In alien force and onwards we need a counter where every time Ben says his aliens name after transforming.
My friend, that's a great idea!!!
Doesn't he do it practically every time though? Would be kinda pointless in my opinion
@@FG-nd3ue agree
Would’ve been better if he just kept it in a jug or something though
@@LucyWest370 True but that doesn't give him an alibi for reason 2

Wouldn’t say it's a contradiction. People can be prejudice even towards the people they work with.
@@paulosm7070 no they’re the same organisation, the Plumbers only started recruiting alien members during the 5 year time skip, before that the most an alien could be was an honorary member like Xylene.

Babyblast is actually very similar to the name I came up with: Heat Baby
25:26 Max: The tuxedo! MY PRIDE!!!
Ben: Wow.
Me: Bruh
I am offended that "get your claws off my grandson, vilgax" wasn't included in the montage
Episode idea: Drawing younger versions of aliens from AF onward
That idea is so great because even aliens Ben unlocked at the start of Alien Force are in the Omnitrix, but they’re just locked. Technically, OS Ben could’ve transformed into Goop or Alien X, if he unlocked them.
hehe small chill
3:37 Loved the montage of Grandpa Max being awesome, nice touch
Baby Ben is the cutest thing I've ever seen.
And would Max have even bothered/risked going to the wedding if Ben and Gwen had not found out about aliens at some point in the trip, cause they brought dress clothes with them for something, if not going to the wedding at that spot, it must have been for something else.

honestly, i feel like Feedback stole the spot of being Ben's most important form. Heatblast should've been the one he has the most connection with
Exactly.
Very true. I honestly feel that Ben has the most training when it comes to Heatblast, considering he's one of Ben's most dangerous ones since he couldn't interact with anything without setting it on fire. But it seems in later seasons he was able to handle items without burning them.
