- Throughout his career, freeride skier and fully qualified mountain guide Sam Anthamatten found his way of life in guiding, helping and looking out for his community. His experience and skills allowed others to fulfill their dreams, this time he's the one in the spotlight.
NEVIA offers a glimpse into Sam's life - not as a supporting act but as the main event - and on his attempt to a multidisciplinary mission that involves paragliding from Zermatt to the Obergabelhorn north face, hiking up to the top, skiing down, and then flying back home. - Спорт
For someone who has followed the ski / snowboard community for a while, Sam is one of those characters that is fascinating for the breadth of what he does and the level at which he has operated for so long now. So "second row" feels like a stretch. Anyone who follows the industry knows that when his name pops up, good things are on their way. but it's nice to see a movie fully focused on him !
Could have not phrased it better. Full respect for sam and any project he is involved are all time.

that paragliding take off from the Matterhorn was absolutely mind blowing
„Now is the time to rethink my decisions because with a family you‘re not alone anymore.“ - quite an interesting quote with him top-starting (e.g. Running into the abyss) from the summit of Matterhorn 😂
I'll always remember coming into an aid station during the ultraks trail run and seeing Sam's smiling face behind the food stand where he was working on his drone, and grinning when I chose the chocolate over the banana 😄 LEGEND

Sam, you have been a driving force in more of my favourite skiing content, than anyone else I can think of. Beyond the obvious ones, Ushba, Tsirku and the Faction segment with Johnny especially stand out to me. You have been among the biggest, most respected names long before this movie!

Been a fan of, and following, Sam's pursuits for quite a while now and great to see him in the spotlight. Amazing level of skill across many disciplines with a humble attitude make him one of the most impressive alpinists/freeskier whatever you want to call him! Respect!

Great story telling. And I love that the message is (also) dare to say 'no' when you need to. Pushing too hard is too easy sometimes, saying no at the right time...
I have to admit that I also loved seeing Zermatt again.

Amazing, I'm a complete novice and about to undertake my first ever snow peaked climb above 17,000ft. This is inspiring - nerve racking but I'm just in awe of these incredible human beings. My humble challenge begins in Jan 2023. I want to follow Sam & team and achieve those dreams too.

My father is Swiss. He left that country and came to Australia when he was 10. I wonder what my life would've been like if I was born in Switzerland. I imagine I'd be a better snowboarder and better paraglider pilot.

Foldable skis from would make much more sense when you are flying with a paraglider.
Elan skis have a foldable model. Interesting thought. But it's more difficult to trust skis with a weak point where they fold, I'm sure.
