- Before achieving global success as a professional snowboarder, Géraldine Fasnacht’s first love was flying. Now, as a qualified ultralight plane pilot, she combines her passions to open up the high mountains. Landing ultralight planes on alpine glaciers is nothing new - pioneering aviator Hermann Geiger opened the highest landing spot in Switzerland, 4,370 meters up on the Monte Rosa glacier, in 1921.
But using planes to reach previously inaccessible big lines? That’s unprecedented. In 'LINE & AIR', Marion Haerty and Christina Lusti take to the skies with Géraldine to honour those early pioneers of Alpine aviation and push the limits of what’s possible on the snow below.
Thank you North Face for this film. These ladies are incredible and the story telling, so compelling. 🙏🙏
Wonderful movie 🤩It's a very inspiring piece of art with phenomenal cinematography, narration and incredible snowboarding. The dedication, passion and energy of the riders is very moving. We can feel their devotion and truthful relation to the mountain throughout the movie. I was touched by the way Géraldine approaches her playground and impressed by the landings on glaciers ! Loved every second of the movie ! For those who haven't watched it yet, it's worth a time !
Thank you so much for your message 🙏
Beautiful, mighty and inspiring - both the mountains and the ladies here.
Beautifull pictures of course but is it still the right way to promote Big Moutain enjoying... not sure
Wow! This is just NEXT LEVEL skills, filming, technology, access to environment, athletes and parenting! 😄 congratulations for such a fantastic filming project- thanks North Face and people!!
Thank you
It takes lots of courage to say no. Such an inspiration ..
Classic stuff! Lovely mountain flying
Great to see you again Raoul!! You’re grandfather was an epic aviator bro 👍
Tellement beau, tellement inspirant... Merci Geraldine !!
tellement vrai🤍
Beautiful !!!
Great film! 🤟🏼
I ❤ this. Such an inspirational movie. 👊🏼
Inspiring, Thank you!!🦦🤙🏾
Very nice video, the plane was amazing, never see landing on glaciers before just to go to ski :)
Congratulations. Beautifull vídeo!
Beautiful !
Amazing human beings. Amazing talented wise woman & very fit as hell👍🥰 This all is very exciting & very fun I agree but also jealous at the same time. Keep fighting 💪
A beautifully filmed alpine adventure with new approach by plane. 👍
all diese Spots kann man auch ohne Flugzeug erreichen, imfall !
Super Sustainable Way to enjoy nature! Land your private Plane on a glacier in Europe. Really?
Incredible project well done
magnifique
super! w Verbier!
Love it
If only i was rich i would be there too
Excuse my ignorance: I'm confused about the fact that they start their accents on Skis then descend on snowboards.
extremely curious what kinda plane this is and what one costs?
Excellent video.
„Shopping Lines by plane“…what a snobistic anachronism in this times….walk it…as all the others or, because Of me, thermal it with a paraglider…
But, no doubt, excellent pilot!
Incredible! Mountains are love!
Soooo pretty
what is the name of soundtrack at 5:05 ?
Thanks
The Tschingelhorn* is the Lauterbrunnen-Breithorn……
Using a plane to access ski lines in the Alps is really not something I would support
Great riding, ditch the plane and its fossil fuel. Not one of these place is not easily accessible by touring
Not exactly what we call "sustainable"!
I hope this lunapark on the Swiss Alps will be soon forbidden!
Nice ecological cost to take planes to check snow conditions !!!
Ouais ouais ouais..... ça reste de l'exceptionnel, du très haut niveau et du rêve à l'état pur. Si la planète n'a que ça comme souci ça devrait aller.....
It's an ultralight doesn't use so much fuel as you're saying...
It is a pity that a big brand such as "the north face" still promotes the production of this way of living the mountains, while we all should move to a more "environmentally friendly" attitude. :(
I hate this noisy planes and helecopters when i am doing my moutaineering tours by fair means. In the swiss alps this is completly unnecessary, you can do all tours from the valley if you take one day longer. If north face keeps celebrating such things i will buy my equipment from more sustainable suppliers in future.
Beautiful little movie. I have looked at that big south face of the Monch many times whilst in the Bernese Oberland, and thought it would be a great ski descent in the right condition - but never had the bottle to take it beyond ‘thinking about it’. Kudos, ladies, great job …….
