I heard a young lady sing this song on the voice and that brought me here. Her name is Checi Sarai. I remember this song as a child growing up in a small town. The birds chirping in the intro and the soothing and calming sound of her voice. That was 48 years ago in 1975 when I was just 11 years old. We were blessed to hear her for the years that she was here albeit was just 31yrs 8 months. Prayers, peace, love, joy and blessings to everyone who listens to this song!
My mom wasn’t much of a singer but she would put this song on when it was bedtime. She definitely loved singing this song to me when I was little. I’m now 27 and I’m pregnant with a daughter and i play songs that I love. I’m so excited to meet my baby girl in January!!
What a great way to start the year !! I am so happy for you , your baby will be very happy with such a wonderful mother 🤗 . Peace Love and Blessings always 🕊️☀️
This song is really timeless. My 4 yr old granddaughter put her little hands on the chest, closing her eyes and sing this song everytime I play it on You Tube. I become so emotional and hold back tears
I don't know why I'm here, but this song just randomly popped in my mind for some unknown reason. Minnie Riperton's vocals are light and airy. It's very pleasant to the ears. She could sing dozens of nighttime lullabies and it wouldn't even faze me at all. So sad that she already left this world. I hope she's at peace now.
This is my precious life partner's favourite love song of ours. She is recently retired Emergency Department General Surgeon, her entire being and essence is this song. She has saved countless lives after traumatic accidents. Started foundations. WE are blessed. We live by the following "Love is Life, Life is Love". Sometimes I played this over and over whilst she was commanding the entire operating theaters all at once. I knew I would see her again soon. When I did, the many emergency c-sections; the countless babies saved by her God given skills. People do not understand just how many choppers and ambulances bring victims "Alive or dead to my partner to save, she saves every one of them, except those already passed, before they could get to her". I love you Monica, I am Sigma, and I am blessed to be loved by you.
This brings back sweet memories in 1974 or 75 of me in the eighth grade having an encounter with a girl about the same age. Both of us in the Gulf of Mexico water a few yards from shore. My mom on the shore saw what was happening and put a stop to that fast. On the way home this song played on the radio. This beautiful song will always remind me of that girl.
Such an Angelic voice none of that extra stuff straight to the point with plenty of emotion behind it. There’s plenty of great singers out there and through history but to me this song has always stood out definitely my favorite
I didn't know that Mom passed from Cancer she was first diagnosed at 55 it took her life at 78 it gives a new meaning to the word toughness. RIP Mom RIP Minnie
I've heard this song so many times but it's the first time that I'm seeing the video. I didn't realise that she was serenading Maya at the end, that's so sweet. I also didn't realise that Maya's dad accompanied her on guitar in the video. They were such a lovely couple. It's sad she died so young, but this song will live on forever with younger generations like me and those that will come after me.❤️
Her voice sounded how looked. Angelic🥰🥰RIP Minnie. You are the originator of that F # 7 note and the best. IMO. No whistle just an effortless note.👌🏾👌🏾Perfection 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
Minnie Riperton could hit those high notes like no one else. She was an incredible vocalist. Minnie left us far too early because of her illness. My dad and I made an agreement before he died to meet on Copperhead Road on January 1, 2060. Minnie is invited, and we hope she joins us.
It came out before I was around, but I heard it growing up. I've always loved the "Oldies." Grew up listening to Marvin Gaye etc. This particular song is one that brings a particular person to mind. I'll never forget all the time we spent together even though they didn't want to stay with me.
My God, what a voice. I am...enchanted. I read that the part at the very end where she goes "Maya, Maya, Maya" was for her daughter, SNL alum, the gorgeous Maya Rudolph.
Woaw, first time seeing the person behind this angel voice. Such vocals, such talents, such a beauty.. Why don't I know more about her or any other songs of her. What happened there I wonder.. She should have been huge!!
Sadly she died in 1979 at the age of 31 from breast cancer poor angel 😢😢 and this song was a lullaby for her daughter and she left it for her daughter so that her daughter could always remover it. And her daughter is THE Maya Rudolph😊😊 it such a sad story but a least she left something for her🫤
That line ' stay with me as we grow old as we live each day spring time' . Life is precious guys. Also what a terrible loss from someone clearly so talented.
I’m about to be 69 and I’m here with my granddaughter who is 6 and every time she is with me she’s either singing this song or asking me to play it. She says this will be her favorite song forever so Lovin You has got at least 70 more years

Now that's four fucking octaves, absolutely beautiful, it's a shame how modern music lost this simplicity. 70s is the best Era in human history for singing talent and songwriting.
There's never been anyone else like her. For me, it took a combination of natural talent and practice to hit notes even higher than Minnie does here, and effortlessly. You need natural talent, a real soprano voice, and daily practice. If there's difficulty, you weren't made to sing in the stratosphere. I thank God, I was because it can't be learned, only honed. Minnie was a natural, a beauty with an angelic voice. Love this song so much.

You and I both. I was born in 64. I loved this song! I was too young to really understand but old enough to understand and appreciate the pure gold!
😂same here lol.
My wife just told me Maya Rudolph the actress is her daughter
My mom wasn’t much of a singer but she would put this song on when it was bedtime. She definitely loved singing this song to me when I was little. I’m now 27 and I’m pregnant with a daughter and i play songs that I love. I’m so excited to meet my baby girl in January!!
Awwe..
How sweet! ❤️
What a great way to start the year !! I am so happy for you , your baby will be very happy with such a wonderful mother 🤗 . Peace Love and Blessings always 🕊️☀️
Congrats
What a beautiful song for her
This is really a beautiful voice. That’s amazing
Oh yeah
When singers were real singers and artists. Beauty personified.
This song is really timeless. My 4 yr old granddaughter put her little hands on the chest, closing her eyes and sing this song everytime I play it on You Tube. I become so emotional and hold back tears
💕
It’s okay to cry ❤
I don't know why I'm here, but this song just randomly popped in my mind for some unknown reason. Minnie Riperton's vocals are light and airy. It's very pleasant to the ears. She could sing dozens of nighttime lullabies and it wouldn't even faze me at all. So sad that she already left this world. I hope she's at peace now.
Same bro
Me too
She is peace
Me too
Yep I had trouble remembering the name.
Her voice so perfect
Rest in harmonious peace Ms Minnie, "Loving you is easy cause' you're beautiful."
I am so glad I have discovered her. I listen to her stuff in the morning and it reminds me to be a gentle person too. She also has great other songs.
you are so right about this. That's exactly how she comes across...a very gentle person. I'm not gentle...at all. But I should be.
The person that hit that octive was Mariah Carey's voice. Minnie had a voice like two Angel's competing with each other. Minnie won god rest her gift.
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. 😊
"Stay with me while we grow old" 😔 She died so young. So talented , Maya must love this song. Her name on the end...sad
RIP Minnie...listened to this with tears of joy..was today years old when I learned you left us all a precious gift in Maya Rudolph!!!
Missing her, wishing she was still here to serenade us again and again!
Definitely, me too.
We're is she now
Such an Angelic voice none of that extra stuff straight to the point with plenty of emotion behind it. There’s plenty of great singers out there and through history but to me this song has always stood out definitely my favorite
I didn't know that Mom passed from Cancer she was first diagnosed at 55 it took her life at 78 it gives a new meaning to the word toughness. RIP Mom RIP Minnie
She died in 1979 at the age of 31.
G PFP was talking about their mom @@angeliquevangrootveld8075
This song is so special. I have never forgotten this song and it has brought me so much joy. She was such a gem
hallo alle ! bin 65 ,als junger mann, hoerte ich diese wundervolle stimme, ich werde sie nie vergessen. RIP minnie !
It came out before I was around, but I heard it growing up. I've always loved the "Oldies." Grew up listening to Marvin Gaye etc. This particular song is one that brings a particular person to mind. I'll never forget all the time we spent together even though they didn't want to stay with me.
My 4 yr old granddaughter loves this song it’s our song we sing it together and calms her down. ❤
That is Maya Rudolph’s mother... and her father playing the guitar ❤️ ahead of their time !!!
Cool
this song is for sure a family song
My God, what a voice. I am...enchanted. I read that the part at the very end where she goes "Maya, Maya, Maya" was for her daughter, SNL alum, the gorgeous Maya Rudolph.
Yup
Wonder how many people even know that. Talent certainly does run in the blood!! Love them both so much!
Yes talent does run in the blood 🩸😉✍🏻🎬🎤⭐️
Quanta pureza nessa voz.
Há anos gosto dessa música, mas só hoje em 2.023, achei esse vídeo e estou conhecendo quem foi Minnie.
Gratidão.
Get a sense of melancholy hearing this song…. Beautiful
Such a shame that this angel did not get the opportunity to grow old😢
Absolutely
Like this song very much. Great (unusual) voice. A great husband and wife team. R.I.P. Minnie. 💖💖
I'm in love with that woman, her voice is like an angel like no joke, and I like the way how she did her hair she looks a goddess
She has such a soothing, soft voice it's amazing
1961 Williamsburg, Brooklyn…… Tears………..
I’m about to be 69 and I’m here with my granddaughter who is 6 and every time she is with me she’s either singing this song or asking me to play it. She says this will be her favorite song forever so Lovin You has got at least 70 more years
This is so beautiful may god protect your granddaughter and you and remain the love y’all have ❤️
So sweet❤
No one else can make me feel the colours that you bring......
Incredible lyrics
Am born in 1957, this is part of my life, making my heart break, love you mimmi, wich you were still with us,
Her voice is timeless OMG I cry every time she sings the purity of her soul thank you for blessing us with such an angelic voice OMG
So beautiful 😍 so young and so tragic 😞 R.I.P. Minnie 🌹
I love how she says her Daughters name at the very end...so touching😊
I'm Not Sure Upgrayedd would be too happy to hear that.
Absolutely
The song was originally a lullaby for her daughter maya rudolph, stevie wonder produced her debut album under pseudonym
They say comedians carry the most pain and sadness in their hearts; if that IS true, then it isn't hard to understand why Maya Rudolph became such a talented comedian!
Lovin' You
Minnie Riperton
Lovin' you is easy cause you're beautiful
Makin' love with you is all i wanna do
Lovin' you is more than just a dream come true
And everything that I do is out of lovin' you
La la la la la la la... do do do do do
No one else can make me feel
The colors that you bring
Stay with me while we grow old
And we will live each day in springtime
Cause lovin' you has made my life so beautiful
And every day my life is filled with lovin' you
Lovin' you I see your soul come shinin' through
And every time that we oooooh
I'm more in love with you
La la la la la la la... do do do do do
No one else can make me feel
The colors that you bring
Stay with me while we grow old
And we will live each day in springtime
Cause lovin' you has made my life so beautiful
And every day my life is filled with lovin' you
Lovin' you I see your soul come shinin' through
And every time that we oooooh
I'm more in love with you
La la la la la la la... do do do do do
July 2024 anyone? I had the extraordinary privilege of seeing her perform live. True talent.
Me
Lucky.. and yeah me.
I remembered this song for some reason after I saw the Internet Anarchist responding to Charlie's (Penguinz0) latest video.
Long story.. but it makes sense and frankly, I feel happy it brought me back to this masterpiece.
I was 10 years old when I first heard this song. I was amazed by her voice. I'm here in August 2024, because Minnie's daughter, Maya Rudolf will play Kamala Harris once again on SNL. Minnie sings "Maya Maya" at the end of Lovin' You. So touching. 💙💙💙
Yep. I came for the memes
If you are posting in July, and somebody, I mean literally anybody, responds, then guess what, it’s in July, that’s cool you got to see her live. Did you yell out during the concert “is anybody else here with me??”
This song is what pure young love feels like
true
I love her voice because her vocal tone has this smooth, sweet and passionate tone. I’d listen to her voice to relax.
This song really lifts my spirits- it just makes me happy😊
Maravilhosa.....❤
Now that's four fucking octaves, absolutely beautiful, it's a shame how modern music lost this simplicity. 70s is the best Era in human history for singing talent and songwriting.
Five octaves actually
There's never been anyone else like her. For me, it took a combination of natural talent and practice to hit notes even higher than Minnie does here, and effortlessly. You need natural talent, a real soprano voice, and daily practice. If there's difficulty, you weren't made to sing in the stratosphere. I thank God, I was because it can't be learned, only honed. Minnie was a natural, a beauty with an angelic voice. Love this song so much.
You can sing higher notes...how many years or practice did it take
to reach her level and higher
Um....ok?😧
Back when music had meaning and singers were actually talented ❤
They dumbed down and defunded academics and art in USA for a reason. America was more invested in a society of programmable drones, not free thinkers and talent
Bro i hear what you saying but she just talking about love like 60% of today song say the same shit that she say … wake up to reality, musicality change yes but that’s it, in every generation there are talented and not talented artists
@@lolbn974 I agree with Nikita, today's music doesn't come close to the craft of this classic. You are right about one thing, music has changed and as Nikita also eluded to, it's got worse!
You want proof - Show me 3 supergroups today that have the same appeal of these stars from the 60s, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys?
I could go on, but I've made my point already - There are none today, enough said
❤😂❤ world peace don't worryeye be happyeye yeye yeyemanin in negosyo magandang bosses ni Enya SherylCruz jihyojisooJellieyeye
Habang nabubuhay yes amen thank you 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@lilyleon1475 If there are no supergroup today is totally not because they are worse, it is because we have so much choice today ( i mean easy access choice), and it is so much easy to discover new groups/artists, secondly back in the days you had to buy 1 album by 1 album and it was quite expensive so you listen to them a lot to make them worth the price , thirdly the main way to discover new artists was Radio and radio almost only play the trending music/artist. There must be a lot of other reasons but i really dont think that the quality of music is one them and i quite sure nobody could judge that without any bias
Maybe my favourite song!!!❤
December 2024 because Minnie was angelic 🥹🥰❤️
I absolutely love this beautiful song! R.I.P. Minnie!❤👍🤓🎼🎶
I will always love this version more than anyone else's "cover". Her voice is so pure & angelic 💖
The cover by Her’s is pretty dang good. RIP Her’s
Came across this while smoking on the front porch about 5am. Brought back memories. And a deer seemed to like it. So I played it again for her and 2 others came up. So I played it about 3 more times for them. And another good memory with this beautiful song.❤
First time I heard this song, I truly cried. It was so pure and so beautiful. Many years have since passed and I still feel the same each time I hear it. Her voice felt like she knew the tragedy that would befall her. RIP, Minnie.
my little baby always falls asleep with this song
Who’s listening to this masterpiece in May 2024?
One of the few breaths of fresh air in the disco era!
Me!! My honey just sent this to me!!
Her's
Me and I still get goosebumps each time I listen to this masterpiece
2024 0521 is here❤
listening to this song the other day, I went to sleep at noon, and omg.. life is no longer the same🤌🏻
