I did the maiden on mine this afternoon, 4/11/23. Flies great! Very nimble in the air and will slow down to a crawl to tippy-toe in for a landing in nearly calm conditions.
Great video Gary. I'm getting one. Going to program the Flaperon / Spoileron option. That is as soon as my BUTHCED Cateract Chop Shop replacement gets corrected.
nice flight ! the control rod to the elevator 'is shorter' than the Rudder control rod...might help with adjustments.....***check the battery tray screws; mine were loose and battery tray would slide back and forth...I think they did that for securing the battery/size, and achieving CG easier ?? did you bind it with plane *level*(SAFE) ; not tail down ?? have a great week...
I just got this plane too! Super easy build and seems high quality. Yeah, one of my screws on the battery tray was loose too so I checked all the screws all around the plane. That was the only one that was loose on mine too. Just waiting for my batteries to come in and will be ready to maiden. I love the way this plane looks too. Great maiden in the video, especially with the wind you had. I really like the super simple planes like this.
@@IJustGotHere yep, sounds like it would, but being a BNF, already set up from the factory, 'level may already be set-up...I was thinking how you have to have it 'level' when setting up SAFE from scratch(PNP-forward programing)...maybe it thinks it's nose up, during bind 🤣Just thinking lol..I just assumed level was best at the binding portion of set-up...take care...
I believe that IC3 connectors are only available on Spektrum batteries. I only found 1300 and 1800 in Spektrum. I was using an Ovonic battery that comes with an XT60 connector. I have an adapter that I was using. I just checked on Amazon and looks like they are currently out of stock.
I don't know if you buy planes anymore or you have contract with HH that prevents you from flying other planes? I have a plane that you need to get in your Hanger ( mine is not for sale 😅) It's a Banana Hobbies F4F Wildcat PNP version that's a foamie with very little to assemble and it uses a 4s 2200mah it has cool retracts and foldable wings. The Wildcat flies so well and lands gently the come painted and decals already installed plus they're inexpensive. Well if you do get one I recommend using epoxy to install the wings cause the China glue dries too quickly.
I was looking at the reviews and they aren't very positive. I've never bought anything from BH. How would you rate there customer service and plane quality?
@@IJustGotHere They have changed either ownership or management because I had no trouble getting the plane and was in perfect condition, AV8R on you tube did a review and I had to just get one for myself and I'm glad I did it's a sweet plane.
@@IJustGotHere Right, I used to own many of the GWS Slow sticks I even lost one in a thermal that's when my young eyes could see infinity far HAHAHA I also have another early kit built plane that came with Styrofoam wings and balsa stick fuselage and control surfaces I change the brushed motor out long ago , it's probably at least 18yrs old and it looks very much like the SUS. I going to retire it because it's unique it shows how our Electric RC roots started.
This video is complete confirmation that horizon hobby gives you guys a plane and a "script" for you to follow. Why would a man who owns a IX20 waste his time binding to a rtf radio otherwise? Everyone who has posted a pre release video of this plane on UA-cam has mentioned the same exact thing and or at least mentioned the feature. I really enjoy your content and appreciate you sharing your Passion for the hobby. It's just frustrating to find a honest review of anything Horizon Hobby offers "pre-release these days. None the less thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching. Please know that I'm completely on my own and try to test all the claims by the manufacture to provide my viewers with the best information. Also, I'm currently having an issue with my IX20se not charging. I have a new battery on the way. Crossing my fingers that I don't have to send the TX in for repair. 😀✈👍

It was my pleasure completely! 😀💯✈👍
WOW LUV it Gazza! Need a smaller version so I can fly it at the Ovals!
UMX on all of them! Love it! 😀✈👍

Nice work! 👍
The very real threat of the dog playing with the Stick...
LOL, for sure. Not exactly sure why the dog wasn't on a leash.
Fun Flight GG!! Cool stick plane!!
Thanks Dave! It handles really good. I'm so impressed! 😀✈👍
Great video Gary. I'm getting one. Going to program the Flaperon / Spoileron option. That is as soon as my BUTHCED Cateract Chop Shop replacement gets corrected.
Right on! Not sure If I want to install another servo to do the flaperon option. 👍
Slow is fun mr. Nice and relaxing flight.
Thanks 👍
Awesome maiden Gary!
Thanks Kevin! It makes a great quick everyday airplane. 😀✈👍
Actually looks fun in a little bit of wind.
I agree except landing. I got very lucky that it ended up that smooth! 😀💯👍
Fun Stick GG, nice Maiden!
Thanks! I can't wait to give it a more relaxed wind day and see what it has. 😀✈💯

Thanks! I bound it tail down. I would think if that was an issue it would want to climb. I'll check the tray screws. Thanks for the heads up! 😀✈👍

Great maiden and it got a really good flight time. Can't wait to see it flying again!
Thanks! It is a lot of fun. Can't wait to get it out again and really push it. 👍
Thanks for sharing glad to see it handles the wind so well, I'm waiting for the rain to stop where I live to fly mine.
Thanks! The rain is on the way here. Staying Thursday through the weekend. 😮💨
Great flight Gary. It's definitely a cool plane for what it is.
It handles so good straight out of the box! I can't wait to fly it without all the wind. 😀✈👍
Is there such a thing as an acrobatic plane? This one qualifies.
For such a basic design, it can do so much! 👍
Looks like has some good power on take off and in low power flights good job and maybe with safe mode be good beginner plane
Yep! It is ready for some more fun. 💯✈👍
Nice video! And could tell me which plane should I chose in real flight 9.5s to train this plane?
Thanks! I would just pick another "stick" style plane. They all fly basically the same.
Thanks for the video :)
My pleasure! 😀✈👍
looks really neat, nice job of flying
Thanks Richard! It flew great in that wind. 😀✈👍
Great job Gary! 👏 it looks fun in the heavy wind😮
It is! 😀✈👍
Gary looks like a great fun flyer for any day. Jeff in LA USA
It could be an everyday airplane for most people. It is fun and I can't wait to get it out again. Hopefully on a more calm day! 😀👍
Looks like fun. I wonder how difficult it would be to put a foam board profile fuselage on her.
I think you might be on to something! It would be so simple and customizable. 😀👍
Where can I get a 1550ma battery with a ic3 connector. I would like to try take in my radian slso.

Hope the battery works for you!! Good to see a plain simple controller will work with it!! Thanks!! May God bless you with many more!!
needs more pitch on the prop, landing gear is bullshit. come in slightly too high, broken.
Hope you get it fixed up quickly. 👍
