    Spectacular warmup! It feels like a followup to "Improve Your Singing Tone" from 6 years ago (a video I usually end my warmups with).
    I really appreciate you diving into the "why" behind each exercise. My brain loves this because I feel more motivated to give it my all and pay attention to the detailed instructions you're giving.
    Also great to learn that I should try to minimize the sound of my breath in the "hee, hee, hee, hee" exercise. In the "Improve Your Singing Tone" video, I would usually exaggerate my breath sounds because I just didn't know any better. 😅
    As always, thank you for all you do Jeff. I'm not a trained singer. All I know I've learned from you and one other instructor on the internet who makes content.
    With the help of your warmups, I fill my home, my days, my time, with music that sounds lovely and, somehow, is coming from my own body. It's been such a gift to discover that I, too, can sing. Thank you.

      Thank you so much for your kind comment here! I appreciate your thoughts and experiences with the videos! Yes!!! This video would make for a suitable followup to the 'Improve Your Tone' video! Well done!

    I tried doing the sips of air in between and let’s just say I got nothing quite there yet. Im definitely gonna keep practicing . Greatly appreciate all that you are and your talent. Thank you for sharing. I will donate by next month , definitely want to be supportive and really need your videos. I am learning so much and unlocking my voice! It’s a great feeling when you are able to sing and not worry about hitting those notes or running out of breath because I learned breath management and keeping an even breath throughout. Thank you

      Yes!!! Unlocking our voices is an amazing feeling! Thank you for singing along! Thanks for thinking of supporting the channel! I appreciate it! The little sips of air can be challenging - keep at it, keep your appoggio working and you'll get it!

    hi Jeff, great vocal workout! 15:55 that exercise is awesome: short notes and short breaths are also very useful for developing agility and appoggio. thank you so much, Bravo! 🎤🎶🙌

    Amazing. And also a perfect exercise for me to rehearse in lower volume (for my own control + complaining neighbors) as lately I’ve been doing a lot of supported chest and belting exercises. Do try to pick the lower octave , though suddenly it feels nice to pick a higher one. Very versatile. Thank you! Do you think it’s also good to concentrate on lats support at the same time?

    • @JeffRolka
      @JeffRolka  Рік тому

      The lats are a part of the core body muscles that facilitate appoggio breath management, so yes! Thanks for watching!

    Hey Jeff should I practice with the same videos/exercise everyday or change the exercises everyday. Hope you’ll respond to my comment!

      Great question!!!! I'm going to answer you in Questions from Comments 43! Briefly though - about a week at a time, more or less, would be a good idea, but there is more to it than that!

    being this an exercise. Can it be used as warm up or is it better to go with a bit of a warm up first?

    • @JeffRolka
      @JeffRolka  Рік тому +2

      Either way could work for you. Try it, and see how your voice responds. If the techniques in this video are particularly challenging for where you are at with your vocal practice, then a warm up may help integrate them into your singing more effectively.

      @@JeffRolka Thanks for the reply Jeff, I've been doing your warmups for about 2 years now. I found this practice very interesting. I guess in my case I needed a bit of a warm up. But I'll surely give it a shot

    Quick question. Does your UA-cam guidebook have the sheet music of what you are playing in the videos?

    • @JeffRolka
      @JeffRolka  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for your question - no, you can get the guides on Patreon. I would stop short of calling it sheet music. They are not full transcriptions. I write out guides to the scales in one or two keys and delineate the ranges covered. If you want, you can find out more here:

    Great video, Jeff. I totally agree with your last segment here. That exercise has helped me more then probably any other. After learning of this in your Breath Course I purchased, I have done this exercise on a nearly daily basis, with great results. Thanks, Jeff. You are my go-to guy!

    I like this one too. Always a fan of working on transitions and the tempo here makes it easier for me to think about what I am feeling as I move up and down the scale. On the alert for tension and pushing the tone, don't you know! Also, I get a little ear training for pitch when you are playing in different octaves simultaneously.
