Extreme is one of the best and the most creative, powerful, rhythmical, harmonical band, even with philosophical messages. Great band of all time. Happy that they play with me and you and us.
One of few rock bands that always (ALWAYS) sounds great live (or sometimes just perfect) !!! Nuno's playing is soooo above 99,9999...% of all live rock performances I've seen during last several years. The band sounds just amazing here! The fans in the venue are very lucky, wish I was here

bro, idk if you can read this but 6 years later i’m watching Bill and Teds Adventure for the first time and i had to look up this song and here is you’re freaken description of the scene i just saw that made come here what the actual fuck. what an adventure.
Holy cow 🤘🤘🤘Nuno is an absolute beast on guitar I am an avid guitar player have been for 30 plus years . I play everything rock , blues , jazz but holy cow those arpeggio’s he is playing are unreal and the speed which he is playing is unreal . Much respect to him wow now I have to learn how to play this song !! Awesome wow!!🤘🤘👍🎸🎸
Holy heck, that guy is killer on the guitar, wow! Just starting to listen to Extreme, lots of gems in their repertoire. Great thing about music, it never gets old. I was born in 1997, so there's a lot of killer music out there I've yet to discover. Just watched a Rick Beato vid where he lists off great guitarists, and I'd never heard of Nuno? So here I am.
I saw these guys live in 1991, opening for Cinderella. One of the best line-ups and single greatest concerts I've ever been to! They're still lookin' in pretty good shape too.
That is a wonderful premise, but what really happened was "More Than Words" was a hit, it gave them popularity, while also overshadowing their true talent until the internet caught up. Now, people can appreciate all of Nuno's guitar mastery instead of being known only for an acoustic ballad to most rock listeners.
2:26 I can barely strum a chord and speak at the same time. This guy is singing, picking with the quickness and moving down the neck all at once. How many brains do you need to make that happen?!
Nuno is easily a top ten rock guitar player, for those of you don't agree then who would you rather listen to ... yes actually listen to if you could only choose 1 on a long four drive? I like Malmsteen and Van halen, Vai and of course Paul Gilbert yes but to listen to them for 4 hours straight would get old...... this is a guy you could actually listen to for 4 hours
I just blew an sunny AZ afternoon searching for something educational regarding my pool and ended up in music. This place, MOJO, boasted top 10 this and that regarding guitarist and not once was Extreme or Nuno mentioned. How fuckin sad. Nuno's solo is so incredible and he plays it like his attitude, this ain't shit. LOVE THESE GUYS!
No such thing as better but nuno is a crazy ass technical player too. I always wonder what kind of monster shredding can he do if only he has interest in making a guitar solo like the generation axe members steve vai and yngwie. Sweep picking, alternate picking, his crazy percussive legatos and palm muting and composition he's got them.
Gary said that there can be only one but I was at The M3 Festival in 2022 and I saw quite a few great guitarists even though extreme didn’t play there were some great ones.
I saw them back in 1990/91 and he was doing the yawning thing even then, I was disappointed with it then and I still am to an extent. It's one of the most exciting solos I've ever heard, as a young 18 year old I was wanting heroic poses and flamboyant histrionics to match. Such an epic guitarist though.
I can play this solo more or less. I love Nuno. The audio is from a different take. When he yawns there’s is clearly palm muted picking in the audio but he plays it legato on the video. Also just after the solo intro there is a clear dive bomb (like the album version) but he doesn’t touch the tremolo in the video.
I was wondering if I was the only one who caught that. He clearly moves his picking hand up to his mouth to yawn around 4:30 but the tone of the notes doesn't change, you can still hear the pick.
@@georgetano7336 Listen closely to the tone. Sure, with low enough action, you can fret notes and make them come through without the pick - but with the section we're discussing, the timbre of the guitar doesn't change when he removes his picking hand to do his fake yawn. It's nothing against Nuno, but whoever put this video together didn't use live audio or if they did, it's a different take.
To all of you who posted Bill and Ted references, you are among the last awesome generation. I salute you B-) Duston McCreary, that was hysterically beautiful 😅🤣
No Alla Turca on the intro? For the sensitive people on here calling on Nuno being an a-hole to Gary, you clearly don't know these guys. These boys practically grew up together ( except for KFigg) which is why they poke fun at each other. They're brothers.
Extreme is one of the best and the most creative, powerful, rhythmical, harmonical band, even with philosophical messages. Great band of all time. Happy that they play with me and you and us.
Nuno is the guy everybody forgets when it comes to make a "Top 10 guitarists of all times" list. He's so underrated.
Tony Macalpine is more underrated than him.
I ain't forgot hes my number 1
+Adrian Moore Same here bro. He has ALL 80's rock guitar Gods beat all to hell. There can be only one...lol
literally every video with someone playing guitar:
"THIS GUY IS SO UNDERRATED"
No he is not. You might just heard him for a while
Nuno is off the charts in this one, great song, unbelievable soloing.
Fucking yea!
Nuno Bettencourt is an absolute monster of a guitarist, goes overlooked way too often
100 percent. Also a great singer too. He's a great musician
Brian May was just voted best guitarist by guitar world and when asked about it he mentioned Nuno as being a much better guitarist. He is noticed.

Don't even get me started on Nuno's intro!
I'm impressed on how close Nuno's playing is to the studio recoding.
Nuno acts like it's just way too easy to play that stuff. Just amazing skills.
Well...he wrote it
Not to mention he sings and plays the guitar lower than your self esteem after watching him do it all
Or it's all a fake ass show with the original track dubbed. . .

Nuno wins the award for most humble guitarist.
"We look older" says Nuno, an actual vampire.

Even though I miss Paul Geary, this is bad ass!!! Always loved Extreme! What a band.
He plays the solo flawlessly like it was nothing
Backup vocals are fucking on spot too! Amazing live performance!!
4:29 nuno was like : "i'm sleepy bring me something harder"

Nuno's sense of humor goes beyond people's head sometimes. "We're a little bit older i need to sit down for this one" hhahahhahaha
i just adore this song and now i love how stranger things will give this an influx of new listeners. Nuno's solo on this is just beastly.
Time to rewatch "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"!
I hope that guitar was above 18.
Maybe the best Betencourt solo ever... Still cryin' when I watch this one, he doesn't care ^^
They really sound great. Not only this song. The whole Boston live. Amazing band.
So glad this band is getting the continued recognition and love each and every player in it deserves!
Love this!! I still remember when Gary Cherone worked at Town Records at the Meadow Glen Mall in Meford, MA.... Love this band....
Superb track from a brilliant album, and a killer solo!
Nuno IS the 90's EVH. The whole band is so underrated.
I love the staccato sounds Nuno gets on the guitar. Nuno's my first round draft pick.
Tunes like this make me want to set my guitar on fire...
But I won't... I love it too much. I have my work cut out

you're right, lots of gems! I am sure you'll love some of their songs and Nuno's sense of groove and rythm is out of the world.

Nunu is awesome, but man, Gary puts on such a show and his voice is still strong! Kickass band :)

One of my favorite songs from a kickass movie growing up!!
Nuno is definitely a GUITAR GOD!
I love Jackson and Ibanez, but Nuno makes me want to play Washburn.
awesome! and of course nuno, easily one of the best modern guitarist to date
Nuno tiene uno de los mejores tonos que he esuchado en mi vida... fantastico!
nuno just has it all. he should be the biggest guitar hero in the world.
What an absolute boss with the guitar actually brought a tear to my eye
Stranger Things 4 dragged me to here :) That solo O.O'
They re great, but come on, Nuno is way on another level compared to the rest of the band.
do you know who gary is?
+Luciano Thund yeah, hes spongebob's pet sea snail.
Nuno is on a different level compared to most out there.
Agree. But are amazing togheter too
Amen to that, 89801wink.
Nuno’s solo is so effortless it looks like he’s not even playing all the 16th notes
Ill say he’s the best rock guitarist alive since Eddie passed.
I think this is the best live performance of any song I've ever heard.
Fuckin' yawning while doing that crazy solo. >.>
I saw these guys in a small club outside Hershey PA years ago. Mind fucking blown how awesome they were and still are!
This is how it was then: only the hardworking talented made it to the top like these guys.
Barrios Groupie Funny cause that’s what Bill and Ted movie is all about
True. Now to be famous all you need is access to the Internet and a friend or family member who has connections to the music industry.
That is a wonderful premise, but what really happened was "More Than Words" was a hit, it gave them popularity, while also overshadowing their true talent until the internet caught up. Great song. Great live performance too.
Stuck on Nuno vids today . Nuno s guitars have something to say! The bass player and drummer are rocking too
this song has now been passed down from guitar hero onto stranger things
And before even Guitar Hero, Bill and Ted!
I am a very good guitar player and it is just outstanding how he does this, he is a very good guitar player. Love this.
Nuno is amazinggg
I still remember watching bill and ted and hear that solo as a youngster. I pivotable moment in my life.
Nuno is in my top 3! Unbelievable guitar player
who are 1 & 2 ?
Besides Randy Rhoads, Nuno Bettencourt is my favorite guitarist. I love his style and songwriting...the guy is super uber talented!
Nuno is so underrated. That's so sad. He's amazing.
Nuno is an absolute BEAST!!!!!!!!
Remember this in B&T. Just heard it on Stranger Things. So fancied Jane Weidlin as Joan d’Arc. Total fun tune

How does he do that rhythm guitar at the start, that's better than Hetfield or Mustaine or any of the Thrash metal rhythm players
lets not get too carried away there buddy,

wtf, i just found this. this isnt more than words. the only thing shredding more than this guy is his abs.
