I really wish I had great tips for this. What has worked for me is setting a loud alarm so it triggers the stress response and putting your phone/alarm across the room. After a few days of getting up, it becomes easier. Having something to look forward to in the morning also helps- like a nice coffee. 😊 All this said, my husband had to drag me out of bed some days (I told him to the night before lol).

How many hours of sleep do you get when you wake up at 4am? Btw, the bird sounds are nice

I aimed for 7-8 hrs, but often it was closer to 7 because it is difficult to go to bed at 8pm 😂

Ooo that’s such a good question. Do you take Step 1 soon, or do you have many months? I guess some mistakes I made were not going through many NBME exams, and I didn’t go through any of my UWorld incorrects. If I could go back, I’d probably start doing practice questions earlier in the academic year and hopefully finishing UWorld prior to Step 1 dedicated. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions so I can be more specific 😊

@@alyssa-do oh Great advice, actually I'm in my first year and I have started my preparation a few weeks ago , and I have years to give usmle 🙂 , but the reason I started this early is that it's me and my parents dream to go united states and I am so crazy to pass usmle exam and get into the residency , your advice is so wonderful and helpful. Thanks ,, is there any way I can be in contact with you for further guidance other than UA-cam? Like Instagram or email ✉️ , by the Way again' thank you so much I'm gonna apply your advice seriously from now.

Congrats on your step2 success and good luck with the match! Did you use anki at all during dedicated?

Thank you very much! I didn't use ANKI during dedicated. I only used ANKI (Cheesy Dorian deck) towards the beginning of studying for each shelf exam to help me learn the information. For instance, once I was done with the OBGYN rotation, I didn't look at the OBGYN deck again. I just found ANKI to be too time consuming for me, but if you really like it and find it helpful- keep going!
