The best moisturizers for type 4 hair is your fav leave-in conditioner & grease.....yes, grease. I’ve been using it for approx 10 mo.; my twist outs have the best definition & let me tell you....you can say good by to massive single strand knots. It’s really the best kept secret. I'm 4b-4c and I basically use all the ones you use. I swear by knot today and the shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie. I also like to mix castor oil and/or jojoba oil into my deep conditioner and leave-ins. It works wonders for my hair. Recently I've been using texture ID styling creme and I love it! It's reasonably priced too. Thanks for the video 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I have tried most of the ones you named except the Carol's Daughter one. i HAVE to try that because I love the Black Vanilla smell and I like the price point.🙂 The Kinky Curly doesn't work well for me.😕 I have tried it multiple times because Naturals swear by it and it just never works for me. It was too watery. My hair loves creamier hair products. Finally!!!!! Someone on here has sort of the same hair type & struggles that I have. I’m still kind of new at natural hair. I’ve been natural for about 6 mos now. It’s been a journey just trying to find products that work. I tried Design Essentials Almond & Avocado line but it wasn’t giving me that definition that I longed for. I’m currently using Mielle Pomegranate & Honey line. You should try it. Can’t wait to see your video on these products.
Yay! It's rare to find some as new to natural hair as me. I'm quickly approaching 8 months and I'm still trying to find my fave staples. It's weird because I think I might like something but then I'm not 100% is actually good for my hair. Literally pinpointed my low porosity DAYS ago. 🤦🏾♀️
On my daughter who is a 4b, I use the Mielle Mongongo oil hydrating conditioner *without* protein. The protein makes her hair break, and it is the one thing we've stuck with. Her hair is also better when she washes at least once per week.
Oooo I have barely tried anything from design essentials. I think I had a sample of something once. That name sound good. I’ll see if I see it next time I’m out.
Thank you for this. I made the big chop January of this year. My hair is growing in nicely but I know I need to do a better job with the moisture. I can't wait to try these products.
My favorite Leave-Ins are Alikay Naturals Lemongrass, KeraVada Caramel Soufflé (Currently on sale), Adwoa Beauty, Curls Blueberry, and Bask&Bloom Ease Leave-In. Kinky Curly Not Today was also one of my favorites and original Leave-Ins, need to buy another bottle.🥰 During this quarantine time I will be trying products purchased during Black Friday Cyber Monday sales (I went nuts!) and other sales I have bought from. I will be trying Leave-Ins from Camille Rose, Mielle, Miche Beauty, Honey's Handmade, Kinky Tresses, Uniqurl, Soultanicals, and Curls Dynasty. I have been a subscriber for a while but haven't seen a video of yours in a minute. I'll be binge watching your videos during this quarantine time. 😉
Yes. Hehehe in my country I paid about $4600 which is like US$20/21. It's worse trying to ship it in because I have to pay more to ship it in than the actual product sometimes.
That Shea Butter Coconut and Hibiscus used to be bae, but now it sits on top of my hair and dries it out. My current faves are Camille Rose Naturals Moisture Milk and Eden Bodyworks Curl Defining Creme.
It used to be one of my favorites too. Not sure if they changed the formula or not but it just sits on top of my hair too. I still keep a small tube on hand in case I run out of something else 😁
Kinky curly is my number 1 leave in/detangler but with a twist. I dilute some in my spray bottle and it strecthes the product to provide double slip because it's already so concentrated. Its cut my detangle sessions in half. Give it a try one day

Hello, any advice on how to avoid face breaking out? I have a problem with using hair conditioners breaking out my face when I sweat naturally all the time.
I'm trying to get box braids what would you recommend for my 4C type hair? My half white niece trying to use her 4A products in my hair got my hair looking all white and crusty 🤦🏽♂️
The only one you have that I haven’t tried is the CurlyKids line. I like that name, it’s cute! I’ve tried Melanin, but I kinda want to try the leave in with it.
I had to come back to let you know I picked up SM smoothie and decided to try the Shea Moisture JBCO/peppermint leave in and the styling lotion (with the tan label) as well. The SM smoothie didnt do much for my extremely dry hair, however, I was extremely impressed with the SM Jamaican black castor oil styling lotion. There is a patch of hair in the front of my head that is extremely porous and dry. Even As I Am double butter (which was my fave) couldn't retain moisture there for long but the JBCO styling lotion did and my twistout looked great. I was shocked. Since you like Shea Moisture, I would definitely recommend you give it a try! I just bought 4 bottles 🤣.

I have been thinking about the As I Am. Seems like I have tried everything up until this point. I've used Shea Moisture for years off and on. My daughter likes it more than I do. I loved the old formula. Sometimes, it feels too thick for my hair, but I will do it in a jam. I have been crushing on Miche products for a while. I think I've finally found the one.
My hair was very dry. I currently use the African Pride Moisture pre-shampoo, shampoo, conditioner and leave-in. Very cheap $5.99. I use either Spanish almond oil on my scalp or I've recently made (diy) clove water, whipped shea butter and rosemary on my hair. My problem is my hair doesn't or hasn't grown. Now that I know what works for me as far as moisture trying to fine something to make my hair grow.

When you say it “reverts” do you mean it shrinks back down? I find after I put my products in and seal in my moisture my hair is at its peak in terms of size in my fro. Minutes later it shrinks but still is soft an moisturized.
Sometimes water can shrink ur hair but for a or of people water and moisture weighs down the hair and makes it longer and as it evaporates or dries the hair will shrink

Do you use all the products at the same time?
I usually choose one of each per session. ☺️
I really love Jane Carter Solution Untangle Me Weightless leave-in! It has good slip and is supppperrrrr moisturizing! I have 4C hair, and my hair does not like everything. 😅 super super picky! And depending on where you get it, it can be $10-$12 dollars. It's a really good product!
I still haven’t tried Jane Carter yet. I’m trying my best to use up what I have before trying new things. 😩 The temptation though!!
@@LaToyaEbonyHair You should! And yesssss, I understand 😭
I dont use nothing but shea moisture
How do you maintain moisture?
