So thankful that decided to move to central North Carolina. Have recently had some health issues and have been blown away by the quality of health care available to me. Fast service getting appointment and top quality medical professionals and facilities. Family back in VT struggling with major delays to even get appointments let along procedures.
I’m so hoping that those tests and injections all had a relatively happy ending. The two of you deserve all the best. I agree with Tammy, getting on the road is such a great way to find reprieve from all those worries and problems. We started our RVing journey the year we lost our son. It’s not a cure, but it sure is a deviation which is a very relieving thing. Have a blast and can’t wait to keep up with your adventures on the road!
Oh goodness, those tests looked miserable. I hope everything turned out okay. Getting older is not for the faint of heart. Hubby had a major heart attack last year but is celebrating a birthday tomorrow with 3 of our youngest grands.❤

We retired and live in Sarasota these days. Currently my wife has cancer surgery scheduled on August 29th. We have our home and a Class A diesel pusher. Sadly we are stuck at home until she has her surgery and recovers from it.
Holy buckets, you two. I saw those sensors taped on Tammy's forehead and had to drop everything to find out what's going on. 😮 Those shots, Scott had looked like that rooster gell injections they give to lubricate bad knees. I've had that done. And Tammy, those x-rays. My 30-year-old daughter just had a hip replacement in July. She's looking at 3 to 4 months for recovery to the point she can return to work. My advice from old Doc Wayne, enjoy your RVing, but don't over-exert yourselves. (disclaimer- not a real doc. Hell, never even played one on television 🤣)
🤣🤣 aww Wayne. I can always count on you for a good laugh! That’s the best Doctor advice I’ve heard all year! Thanks for sharing your daughter’s experience! I’ve had seven reconstructive surgeries that were supposed to fix me. Obviously not. Bones that didn’t fuse and trashed hip. But I will hold out until I can’t walk because I have no desire to go under the knife any time soon, plus Scott needs a new knee 🤣. We leave this week. May be gimpy but bet we will be happy! 😘

We have trouble booking specialists too. The wait can be so disruptive when they’re a few months apart. It’s bad enough you don’t feel great, and those stressful doctor’s appointments don’t help. Anyway, so glad to hear you’re back on the road. Woo! It’s the best medicine out there!
I live in south Florida and am 70. I ride with other friends my age and we ride our bikes everyday. After awhile you get accustom to the heat. At least that happened to me. Hope you can get away soon!

You are so wise getting every test you need. As you know we were full time until the week before Christmas. We loved every moment of the 21/2 years we traveled and both felt pretty good. I’m a stroke survivor with spinal arthritis, Wendy was type 2 diabetic. But we still had Ourself the greatest of adventures. It was time for us t get off the full time, wanting to spend more time with our family. Wendy began losing weight and had a little stomach pain. Started out not too bad and we struck it up to the Diabetes. She totally changed her diet and got off her medication but the stomach pain didn’t go away finally this June she went to the doctors and on July 1st she was diagnosed with extremely serious cancer. Looking back there were small signs but not anything major. We were having too much fun to think about getting sick or having routine tests. We wouldn’t trade our travels for anything. We are just so happy we didn’t wait to travel but instead we lived the life on our terms. Wendy is a fighter! We have our faith, the prayers of Many and we have already seen so many miracles happen for her almost daily. So glad you are having the tests needed to feel your very best to have the best adventure ever!!!

Sounds like a good plan. Looking forward to watching your upcoming adventures! The last two summers have been filled with doctors visits and recovery for us as well and we aren't used to that! We're ready to have some more carefree days on the road as well. Hopefully soon!

Glad to see you all getting back out on the road. You are correct, we feel better when we are out in the fresh air, biking, walking & enjoying new places and favorite places! We are leaving in a few weeks, heading to Canada to see family and friends. It will be the longest rv trip we have taken! We are taking my 86 year old mom, as she has never been to Canada and only the U. S. Side of Niagara Falls. We will be visiting with my mother in-law, who has dementia, at 90 years old and in an assisted living facility. Looking forward to cooler weather as it’s already getting down into the 40’s (off & on) at night up there! Safe travels!!!

After all that medical stuff, it will be great to get on the road and put all that behind you. Time for knee replacement Scott? My friend did the shots for a long time until they quit working. She’s scheduled for her second knee replacement next month. It’s a long recovery process but she says it’s all worth it. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to.
Hi Cecilia! Yes we head out this week. Putting a hold on drs for a couple months 😉. That’s about where Scott is with his knees too. I think the recovery is the most daunting part of surgery. Thanks for stopping by!
Looks like Florida was a good move after all. So excited for you to meet your granddaughter. Im excited to spend time in Colorado with you. We are in Seattle finally glad to bid goodbye to summer. Mom's dementia is advancing. I'm learning patience. Looking forward to Autumn in the pacific northwest. We'll be down in Texas with family for the holidays. ❤

Wow what kind of torture is that?! Never heard of it (that doesn’t mean anything tho ha ha) enjoy your travels. We’ll be back in your neck of the woods in December. Going to see my aunt. If y’all think of anything good to do that month …we’ll be watching. She has dementia but is always wanting to go do something and doesn’t have any hobbies so it’s challenging to entertain her. Torture is right! lol. Have you taken your Aunt the the wildlife sanctuary in Homosassa? Of course manatee. Rainbow springs is nice to walk around and picnic 😉. There will be lots of festivals going on then too!
It's supposed to be 94 Denver degrees tomorrow...but the crickets are chirping at night, so Fall is on its way! I do hope all those tests n stuff showed good results! 💕

Ok, I’m confused about the flashing lights and sensors on your head. That looks like a sleep study or some kind of hypnosis, not an orthopedic surgeon. I was bone on bone on my right hip. My surgeon had me up walking with a walker the same day of the surgery. Surgery was at 7am. I was able to go home at 5pm. Surgery was on a Thursday and PT started the following Monday. 3x per week.

Yes, my hip is doing great. My lower back and thigh muscles are still adjusting to walking correctly and without a limp. I had gone for a few years with the pain thinking it was scar tissue from a hernia repair. My right foot was pronating outward more and more. Ibuprofen and acetaminophen daily wasn’t helping. So here I am now. No need for knee replacements yet but a lot of creaking when I use stairs. And it’s not the stairs making the noise. It took 7 months between the ortho referral and the actual surgery to get the new parts installed. Hope you both get some relief soon.
@@neallittlebit1383 sounds a lot like my reconstructive surgeries. I’m chuckling plat the “creaking and it’s not the stairs” 😆. Take good care and hope you continue to strengthen!
Yes there's a shortage of Dr's everywhere. I5s horrible. But I got lucky here. We moved from fl/ga border, east side, and came to Tx. We were here 20 years ago. I didn't like it then lol. But I really like where we are at now and we have wonderful Dr's at the ChristusUS tx clinic.
Aw man.. I feel for you Tammy! Check it out.. Couple years ago I went in for an upper G.I. and found out I was in AFIB.. "Your heart rate is an unsteady 160 Mr Schell You'll have to be admitted for treatment" ... I said No. Hey I tried! 🤣 I Hate Hospitals soo bad! I had enough after Open Heart.. I can pretty much assure you Colorado in the fall will warrant those Jackets!! Good Luck!
Oh my gosh! That’s scary! Glad you let them fix you up but I agree! I’ve seen more of the inside of hospitals than I want and would prefer not to ever be operated on again 😉. We leave in a couple of days. For better or worse 🤣

Holy cow! Yall got the works done! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 for a good outcome for all the tests!! Getting old sucks!! I’m only 54 but being a CNA for just about 35 years, is really taking a toll on my body! I have arthritis everywhere! And on top of that, I’m diabetic, and in full blown menopause!! I’m lucky to get 4 hours of sleep a night!! So I feel your pain!! 6 months is a long time when you have concerns, but be grateful for that. The OKC VA made me wait over 2 years to see a neurologist knowing I have a neuro degenerative disease. Tdiseases. diagnosed me with a rare fatal heart condition almost 3 years ago, and I have yet to see a VA cardiologist or receive treatment. I'm so sick, I now need a feeding tube, but they let me almost die before getting it. I've had it 3 years and still have no GI. I've been seen to change my tube but that's it. No one to follow me or treat my condition, etc. I would be so grateful for just a 6 month wait.

@@TilFurtherNotice I've traveled all over America for years. Okc is one of the absolute worst VAs. Florida was great when I was there. Unfortunately, covid almost killed me and left me with severe issues and I lost the ability to travel and leave for the last 4 years. I am getting better and will be back on the road in December. I plan to change my state of residence so I can obtain better care. Minnesota has a great Mayo clinic, so I'm changing so I can qualify to be seen there.
@TilFurtherNotice I'm sorry, but insurance frustrates me. I've heard of other Florida residents whose Florida insurance isn't covered at a Florida Mayo clinic. That's BS. They should take all insurances.

Yes there's a shortage of Dr's everywhere. I5s horrible. But I got lucky here. We moved from fl/ga border, east side, and came to Tx. We were here 20 years ago. I didn't like it then lol. But I really like where we are at now and we have wonderful Dr's at the ChristusUS tx clinic.

Aw man.. I feel for you Tammy! Check it out.. Couple years ago I went in for an upper G.I. and found out I was in AFIB.. "Your heart rate is an unsteady 160 Mr Schell You'll have to be admitted for treatment" ...

Oh my gosh! That’s scary! Glad you let them fix you up but I agree! I’ve seen more of the inside of hospitals than I want and would prefer not to ever be operated on again 😉. We leave in a couple of days. For better or worse 🤣
@@TilFurtherNotice I haven't really had the best of luck w/Healthcare here in WA State sorry to say, as I plan to retire here. But I did finally get fixed up this year w/a 2nd ablation. Can work a full day now w/o passing out.. which is a mixed blessing🙄.. Happy Travels can't wait for the 'road blogs'.😀Safe and Healthy ones preferably!

Sorry to hear that. This go around I haven’t felt as much relief. But I do need a knee replaced! The first time did seem to help. Hope your knees get to feeling better!

I have arthritis everywhere! And on top of that, I’m diabetic, and in full blown menopause!! I’m lucky to get 4 hours of sleep a night!! So I feel your pain!! 6 months is a long time when you have concerns, but be grateful for that. The OKC VA made me wait over 2 years to see a neurologist knowing I have a neuro degenerative disease. Tdiseases. diagnosed me with a rare fatal heart condition almost 3 years ago, and I have yet to see a VA cardiologist or receive treatment. I'm so sick, I now need a feeding tube, but they let me almost die before getting it. I've had it 3 years and still have no GI. I've been seen to change my tube but that's it. No one to follow me or treat my condition, etc. I would be so grateful for just a 6 month wait.

@@TilFurtherNotice I've traveled all over America for years. Okc is one of the absolute worst VAs. Florida was great when I was there. Unfortunately, covid almost killed me and left me with severe issues and I lost the ability to travel and leave for the last 4 years. I am getting better and will be back on the road in December. I plan to change my state of residence so I can obtain better care. Minnesota has a great Mayo clinic, so I'm changing so I can qualify to be seen there.

@TilFurtherNotice I'm sorry, but insurance frustrates me. I've heard of other Florida residents whose Florida insurance isn't covered at a Florida Mayo clinic. That's BS. They should take all insurances.
