I am nearly 50 years old and always watched Seve through the years. Seve is my favourite player of all time. A total genius legend. Seve made golf entertaining. R.I.P Seve.
I am a high handicapper who always has problems with his short game. Seve helps me to improve it thanks to his clear-cut explanations. And he brought European golf to the highest level with his performances. He lives in our hearts.
I really miss watching Seve play, he was truly one of the greats in the sport. Plus he was kind and possessed a natural class that always shone through.
The most gifted golfer of all time. For some people it is a shame that they have to get old and even more of a shame that they have to die. Seve is one of those people. Greg Norman said once of Seve, “Of all the golfers that I saw, I never saw anyone like Seve.” “We will never see the likes of him ever again.” Is there any more that can be said from a legend about a legend?
Seve had a reputation as a playboy and someone that the game came easy to...but, he was relentless is his pursuit of perfection. Talent, but a huge amount of hard work.
does anyone know whether or not they will ever release this footage on dvd? I could care less about cleaning the footage as much as having a copy R.I.P. Severiano....you were one of the greatest to ever play golf
It seems like Seve used a modern pitching and chipping technique before anyone else. But I never here him get credit for him. He is not chopping down on the ball with the ball far back in the stance. He is using bounce and keeping the club face open throughout.
Such a great player and ambassador for the game of golf, tragic loss, my eldest brother suffered the same fate and it’s hard to believe they’re both gone so young…
Icon, I don't care how good HOGAN , WOODS, Speith,Etc Etc , were, are. they weren't this good. Plus a lot of personality, He had it all, GENIUS, ICON. best ever.----- after J.W.N.
Honestly I think it's all pretty relative! Maybe Jack or tiger couldn't do certain things he could but there's also many things they could do that he can't or couldn't. It's more like art and we just appreciate different beauty. It's not that one's better or worse just different. Like you might like Monet better than Picasso but I might like Van Gogh. They all have very different technical skills and vision and etc.
Word to the wise: Seve is not actually opening the clubface on these shots. Take notice of how low he sets his hands at address. Obviously, this lowering of the handle causes the club face to be aimed way left. In order to get the face relatively square to target Seve sets the club open. The key to this shot is super low hands without setting the clubface aiming lower and left; essentially he is laying the clubface back thereby exposing the bounce of the club. What a genius!
@@markhousego4756 Take your normal address position with a wedge. Now lower the handle. Where does the face point when the handle is lowered in this manner? For a right-handed golfer, it will aim left. Now organize the face so that it is square to your target. This is what Seve is doing. He learned to set his hands low when playing short shots with longer irons as a kid. The lower hands also set the shaft on a rather flat plane angle which helps to ensure a relatively shallow angle of attack. The reason I posted my comment was to offer a small clarification on Seve's advice to open the clubface; I was not criticizing Seve. What Seve does not mention (in this particular video) is how low he sets his hands. I had the pleasure of watching him do a demonstration hitting greenside bunker shots with a long iron in person. Low hands allow you to open the face, thereby exposing the clubs bounce, without aiming the clubface way right of your target. Always happy to respond to WTF!
Good Morning, I am writing a book targeting Golfers who are trying to improve their scores to 90. I would like to include the link to this video in the book. To whom may I make the request? Thank you
ball in the center of the stance is not "off the left heel". I don't care how bad the camera angle is every time he said "off the left heel" or even "off the right heel" he had it closer to the center of the stance than either heel. Great players do not great teachers make . Teaching is an art too.
Smiling the entire time I watched this . God Bless my brother. You'll always b missed.
EPL
He brought much enthusiasm & zest to the 🎯 game
Much 💕 & admired 🌍 wide an ambassador to the game

What a great teacher! After watching his video on bunker play, I went out the next day and made my first good bunker shot. Thank you, Seve!
So sincere, and down to earth... and easy to follow... thank you, sir😊
Makes me cry. Miss him a lot! Seve Legend!
I am a high handicapper who always has problems with his short game. Seve helps me to improve it thanks to his clear-cut explanations. And he brought European golf to the highest level with his performances. He lives in our hearts.
One of my golfing heroes, just a bit older than me . Loved watching him play. So simple how it explains the shots.
I really miss watching Seve play, he was truly one of the greats in the sport.
Plus he was kind and possessed a natural class that always shone through.
Not so sure he was kind lol
A true master of his art...
RIP Seve...
Seve is my Guru!!!!!!!! Greatest short game tips ever. R.I.P Seve.
He was unreal with creativity! Miss you Seve!
We lost this amazing golfer way to early in life. R.I.P and thanks for the memories.
What a legend of the game. I like it when he says “let’s have a look”.
I love the simplicity behind his explanation. Legend. RIP
He is an absolute master on the short game!!
I watch this atleast once a year.. he made the game so simplified.. fundamentals!
Seve played with only two wedges - PW and 56 degree . Greatest short game in history , one of the games greatest gentleman ❤
good lessons from the best short game player ever

R.I.P. Severiano....you were one of the greatest to ever play golf
El mejor deportista español de todos los tiempos sin duda
To see Seve hit a pitch shot is pure art. He was the Rembrandt of the short game.
We miss you Seve.
Excellent! Great leg action!
GREAT GREAT GREAT VIDEO - THANKS FOR POSTING AND SHARING -- REALLY TREMENDUS!
I wish Seve to return to earth. I miss him so much
Fuiste el mejor. único e irrepetible
6:22---"Now, we have a Bud light"
Faldo
Can't stop laughing.
Its childish but funny
I needed that laugh.
The greatest rest easy Seve
So was the “floater” shot what they called the flop shot, back then?
No, more of what Dan Grieve calls his "Release 2".
Focus on the Handle of the Wedge and where his Hands finish in relation to the Shaft and Clubhead.
It seems like Seve used a modern pitching and chipping technique before anyone else. But I never here him get credit for him. He is not chopping down on the ball with the ball far back in the stance. He is using bounce and keeping the club face open throughout.
Dan Grieve credits much of his Inspiration to Seve's methods.
we all miss you soo soo much Seve R.I. P
He loved this game almost as much as people loved him...rest.in peace
Everything except the last shot impressed me. I applauded the last shot.
We miss you Seve
RIP I wish Seve was still on our screens at the Open and the Masters
Short game GOAT. Get Out of Any situation and make par, that's the Trick.
Here I thought flop shot out of divot is impossible... Seve recommends it. Absolute legend
Such a great player and ambassador for the game of golf, tragic loss, my eldest brother suffered the same fate and it’s hard to believe they’re both gone so young…
世界の三大天才プレーヤー スニード、セベ
タイガー 特にセベはワクワクハラハラの豪快なプレーが魅力的でしたね。本当のオールラウンダー😢
Makes me feel like I'm ancient but I miss watching both Seve and Jose Maria Olazabal. Don't think Rahm has the same level of finesse, yet.
How cruel that cancer took away such a great man, this always brings tears to my eyes, still love Save dearly
Great. Glad you enjoyed it. And yes he is.
What a shame to lose such a nice man and great player.
I miss him so much
Thanks for posting this, I used to have this on VHS, is it available on DVD do you know ?
Simply the best!
So sad this talented beautiful man left the earth too too soon
Seve was a god on the course. Not to mention he had an awesome accent that got the ladies.
Dear Seve a genius
Dude was a magician
Seve a great legend RIP
Superb !! Thank you Seve

His brain was wired very differently from normal people, a creative genius .
The master at work !
Amazing player.
This is pure golf magic.
Awesome video. Thank you.

I don’t think you will need permission to link a video hosted on UA-cam but for what it’s worth, you have my blessing :-) All the best with the book!
Really miss watching him. The 85 Masters was won by Jack, but Seve was there til the end...😃
Alan Merrill , the 85 Masters was won by Bernard Langer👍
Jack Nicklaus won the 1986 Masters.
So beautiful to watch
Is it the pitching wedge that he used or 56 degree wedge?
56 degree wedge. Maybe a PW for the pitch and run shot.
He was the best
To good!
amazing!
How to hit a.... How you say.....Ah yes, pitch :) one of the greatest ever.
Que sencillo jugaba al golf !!!!!!!!!!
The GOAT
As Lee Trevino said, "Touch of class baby. Touch of class."
The master at this shot, only Ollie matched or bettered him in this part of the game
CG Mat - Tiger has matched him since.

Legend
Seves hands pretty contrasting
That's seve
awesome player he is missed very much
RIP Severiano
Someone said below that Seve has good hands. I've never seen a good golfer who's handsy, be it with putting, chipping or pitching.
He's a boss
He was the Errol Flynn of golf .
Nobody wears white golf shoes as well as Seve did!
Unless your name is Jack Nicklaus.
+James Murray Nicklaus was never as stylish as Seve.
If you had hands like Seve you’d have five shots off your card!😎
rip
Master
Funny how the flop is said to be a difficult shot and sand shots are said to be the easiest. They are nearly the same swing.
日本語の字幕希望!
Like Einstein explaining basic algebra
굿
