Thank you for sharing this. Seve was the golfer who inspired me to follow golf and support Europe in Ryder cup. A great player and a successful manager who was snatched away too soon from our midst.
Hard to believe nowadays - but, until Seve as a player and Jacklin as captain came along, the Ryder Cup was no contest and nobody watched it. Amazing the enduring impact that both of them had.
@@outlander234 Tiger is another all time great player. Different era with different technology & barring Mickleson no other great players competing with him so it’s very hard to compare. When Tiger was asked to describe Seve as a golfer, he said one word “genius”.
@@davidbrooks187 Of course he is a genius. So is Nicklaus. So is Trevino. Both of which have had same level of competition as Seve of not better. But Seve isnt better than Tiger, even on his best day. He is all time great no one is disputing that at all.
@@outlander234 We will have to agree to disagree, both were the best of their era’s 80s & 00s. But both all time greats of the game & icons. Absolutely loved Trevino & Nicklaus who live in the same iconic superstar of golf bracket.
I was born the same year as Seve (My ALL TIME Sporting Hero) . He UTTERLY inspired Me & so many of My generation. Greatest of All Times, arguably. The MOST ADORED Golfer of ALL TIMES, without any possible contradiction !!! Soon I must visit Santander to pay tribute to MY HERO SEVE !!!
that's exactly right. the guys today are very bad players. Tiger seems to be the last great player. Just think of all the great players that came before Tiger. None of the guys today could carry their laundry let alone be on a list with them. was it the interwebs? the public schools? the poor golf instruction? what?
The best shot ever was in 1983 from a bunker on 18th with a three wood. But this legendary shot described by Jack Nicklaus as the best he’d ever seen was never recorded on tape.
I was there, no more than 10 yards from him when he hit it. BTW, it was his THIRD shot. The second shot was out of deep rough and barely moved 20 yards.
@@MrAJR76 I assure you I did, 100%, view from the blimp. I spoke to Peter Alliss who also seen it. Remember, not all those who remember seeing it were on the golf course that day, so where did they see it? It's out there, keep👀 ING!
You can't call it Seve's greatest Ryder Cup shots & not include that 3 wood from a fairway bunker in 1983. The BBC or a US network must have it, surely. Jack Nicklaus said it was the greatest shot he's ever seen. Guy knows what he's talking about.
No-one has footage of that shot, trust me. It was never broadcast (despite all this “view-from-the-blimp” nonsense that a few people come out with), and no footage is “out there” anywhere. Which is a terrible shame, as it would’ve been fantastic to see!

On his day at his best he’s still the greatest player ever.
That's Tiger and nobody of the greats would even argue.

Captain Oh My Captain ! Was, Is and always will be The GOAT !
Seve was my golfing hero. Just such a shame the bunker shot in 1983 wasn't captured on camera. That would be something to see again. And again.

No trackman. No garbage technology. Just pure imagination, hard work and talent. Incredible. This guy would make the guys on tour now look like chumps

Seve in his prime was incredible...was a joy it was to watch him play!😊.
Love the ethereal music for a celestial star. Seve!!
What a brilliant player 👏, gone but never FORGOTTEN, REST IN PEACE 🙏, MISSED BY 🙏 ❤🎉😮

You got it in one..
A genius
Seve was the heart of the European team. That tee shot into 10 at The Belfry was outstanding

What a wonderful video. Seve was a titan at the Ryder Cup.

Where is the clip of the 1983, 3-wood shot out of the bunker????????????????????????????????????
Wonder if we will ever see the bunker shot with the 3wood from 1983? 'The greatest shot ive ever seen'- Jack Nicklaus.
I bet you TW watched this. When he was up and coming
Then why didn't it help cause tiger is the worst Ryder Cup player ever?
They asked for Tiger Woods to describe how he rated Seve and He said one word.
