My mum used to listen to Mario Lanza songs. I'm glad she did. Been a fan ever since. Mario is one of the he best tenor's I've ever heard. may Mario Lanza rest in eternal peace 🕊️💐
I was 3 months old when Mario died. My first introduction to Mario was whilst I was watching The Toast of New Orleans with my mother, who loves musicals. I must have been about 10 and I was completely blown away by him and his voice and have adored him ever since.
Well observed, I had not noticed this. Almost all modern singers have to virtually swallow the mike. (Mind, having said this, I am sometimes in a forum when the microphone is passed round, and it's true that for speaking purposes you need it close to the mouth, otherwise it's ineffectual. But not in Mario's case!)
I will always love mario I was ten when I first saw him l now am eighty I still love him no one could ever sing like like hime my tribute to the greatest man that ever lived to good for this world
I first heard Mario Lanza when I was 18. I saw the great Caruso.. I knew my father was crazy about opera but we couldn't ever go or n. There was 5 tiny children one after another and I never even really thought about what it was and then my fiancee who was Italian said there's a movie. On and I think you're gonna like it. Because i'd never heard and from the minute I started to hear his voice tears were running down my face. I was so emotional about it and I winded sit on my fiance's lap and he said I knew you would love it and I'm 75. Now but when? My grandson was 18 I turned on Celeste aid any say he started to say what. Is this and tears just started running down his face? He was the only other one in my family that had a soul from there's never been as far as I'm concerned another opera singer. As good as powerful as him but I must say when were in other genres such as rock and roll. Elvis Presley is right up there with Mario. not in opera but in Rock and roll. I can't be disloyal to either.
I respect common opinions, even if I don't agree, I never laugh. I am also a lover of opera and I think, like everyone, I have preferences. But I never look down on anyone. I wish you a good evening!

It's no use saying that the sound quality gives more than an indication of how magnificent his voice was when well recorded. I believe his performance was favourably reviewed, so presumably the sound was better when broadcast. But the vision is much improved, thank you - it's a magic piece of film.
@@ballaratboy1 I'd still love to see or even hear the BYM from the Royal Command Performance but I don't believe it's available? I've heard the "E Lucevan" and "Loveliest Night" from that performance but don't think there's a recorded version on Because You're Mine. Maybe I'm wrong?
One of the the grearwst voices in the 29th. century, what about a film of his life story, come on somebody, the greatest voice, story and mystery of the 50's

@frederickanderson1860 Unfortunately you are very ignorant when it comes to Hollywood. Mario , take note, was everything it takes to be the most special loving ,kind gifted man and opera singer and so much more that he was. He was not deficient IN ANY WAY. Only those on the same level as he can appreciate the wonderful person he was. Now I’m about to tell you an open secret only understood by a few. When someone has and is special there are those who seek to exploit them for their own selfish gain and destroy the gifted one in the process. Secondly, another secret that has escaped your critical mind , Hollywood destroy s them early in their lives. They either die young as in Mario’s case or they become debauched just like the very agents who seek to control them. Now that should set your thinking on a path you never knew existed! MARIO LANZA The Greatest Tenor Voice Ever❤️👌👍
Ha mai conosciuto per caso , Franco Corelli , Del Monaco , Di stefano ... No ? Li vada a cercare e li ascolti , prego )
I truly miss such Sunday Nights, when the Palladium featured great artists who performed without any gimmicks other than their pure talent.
Ref to a previous comment, he was his own person, still loved and listened to listened to more than many other "great tenors"
Music is the world's universal language.

I just feel his emotional way of singing is too much. Corelli and other l believe had control over the emotional side of singing.
There's too much " pleading" in his voice for me.
Sadly he did not have the discipline to achieve operatic greatness like de Stefano and correlli.
The great Lanza, worldwide present 2024, the great Opera Tenor’s, Di Stefano and Corelli, 😊only present in their homelands 😮 2024..
