Paul McCartney has the great gift of writing amazing love songs. They're not the corny pop ones we usually hear in the radio but melodies and lyrics that stay in our minds forever, telling a subtile and touching story of love, just like "My Valentine", or maybe "Michelle" or "Girl" or "If I fell"...there are many of them. Huge artist. For me, the best one.
He very specifically wrote this for and about his current wife. Yeesh, it must be awful being married to a guy whose fans want you married to someone else.
"what if it rained?we didn't care.she said that someday soon the sun was gunna shine.and she was right, this lov of mine.My valentie."my faverorite part.
I agree. Today was the first time I ever heard this song. My BF sent it to day Feb 14 The funny thing is.. We went on a weekend trip last week. The weather forecast had shown rain for many days ahead of trip. But I had told him. One day the sun will shine again. Then finally the must awaited day arrived. It started off with rain. I said, the sun will shine soon... He said, when you see a Glympse of blue skies show me. I said, "Ok" So as we traveled along the hwy... I searched the skies ... Finally, I seen a very small patch of blue sky showed itself between storm clouds. As if saying.. "I come to bring Sunshine for my lovers" I hurried and pointed to the patch of tiny blue and said, " I see it! Blue Skies!" We both smiled with lovers delight in our eyes.... Then gradually the tiny speck grew wider and wider until the Sun shone through the opening of the spread of the clouds. So beautiful... So romantic... I really believe he had that moment in his mind when he sent me this song today.💞🌈🌞
I am totally convinced that, had this been released when he was with the Beatles, it would be remembered now as one of the greatest love songs ever. Paul will always have it, that ability to make such amazing music, regardless of age.
Yet another beautiful song from the genius of James Paul McCartney. He never ceases to amaze me how talented he truly is, and surely he will go down in history as one of the very best musical minds of all time.
Again he's touched my soul like only he knows to do. The only one who's capable in this sad life of mine to heal my wounds or take me to heaven with his voice and his music. He did it when I was young and he still does. And though he hasn't compose these songs in this album, he has had such class and taste choosing them, that they have become his. Love you Paul for all you've meant and mean in my life.
It's so good to hear Sir Paul embracing his voice of today instead of trying to sound like when he was in the Beatles. It's a great voice, Paul; take it and run with it.
Que cancion mas romantica!!!! suena incongruente pero se siente atercipelada en mis oidos.. felicitaciones Paul McCarney!!! otra buena cancion.. dios te bendiga!!!!!!
I don't care whether you've heard of Paul before the Grammys or after. Just enjoy the music, and be glad more people are being introduced to such a wonderful musician.
I have never met Mr.Sir Paul McCartney, I would love to thank Him for his enormous efforts & talent that reaches out. Most that have small lives in simple jobs, or worried in lines @ soup kitchens. We find hope & romance in song, or submit to desperation, from which our love saves.
The haunting melody based on the descending chromatic chords is evocative of classic American song book standards. Yet another facet of Sir Paul's amazing songwriting prowess.
This is the song we use for our cooldown and stretch after a Jazzercise class, it can be very relaxing. It stays in your mind for the rest of the night
a good lesson of musical humility for this new era of ice cream music but so full of greatness.... love for All the beings. keep in your heart dear listeners... i luvyu... Didier
I feel part of what makes this song so great is Paul returns to his roots. What is it? Paul's voice, Paul's lyrics, and Paul's guitar. It is love song completely his own, like Yesterday, Blackbird, and The Long and Winding Road. I don't deny with the Beatles the music is second to none. But a gem here and there of their own, like Something for George, stands well alone.
If you haven't bought his new CD yet, I'd recommend it. All of the songs are old ones, in this style. Very beautiful, and very good for his changing voice.
What a wonderful song. Just when you think you heard it all, something new comes along. I never heard this song before. I sent this link to my girlfriend and we both love it!!
I respect (Sir) Paul McCartney so much and i'm only 12. My grandfather has told me lots about him. How he was in the Beatles, and how AMAZING a singer he is. And i just don't understand how my generation (teens) don't like this music. It's CLASSIC. Paul is a TRUE MUSICAL LEGEND. His music will live on FOREVER.
my son played Paul McCartney's 'My Valentine' when his bride yesterday on the arm of her father, who brought his daughter for their wedding ceremony on 12-05-2021
Lovely. Focusing on his vocal alone was a fabulous decision, like Nat King Cole or Sinatra. Reminds me of songs I used to listen to whilst in the dentist's chair long ago - my dentist had good musical taste. As for those saying "he's lost it" and "it sucks," I used to hear that in the mid-1990s right before the Anthology set. "The Beatles were good, but it's not like they're going to rule the charts or anything." Ha.
respect! Our Sir Paul McCartney is still producing wonderful music for us, that is all what we need in our fucked up generation.. we should count ourself lucky that this great musician is still with us (and of course my favourite drummer Ringo Starr) god bless You !
i love this song it is so beautiful, when he performed this song on the Grammys i basically just tuned out the world, and just fell in love with this song, I know good music when I hear it
This has a very pretty melody. Very much in the tradition of theater music. Sounds a bit like Weill. I love that he doesn't have to worry about being commercial and can just do his thing. Musically gifted man.
a few weeks ago my girlfriend broke up with me.. boy was she a beauty.. and that she was perfect for me, she plays the piano, and i play the guitar, we both wanted to be fully accomplished musicians, but she finally decided that she didn't want a boyfriend.. it broke me.. each time i play this song i remember her.. that time we played a duet on this song.. couldn't have gone more perfectly..
what a refreshing change of elogence from the usual humdrum that youtube strives always to be. The song is finely constructed, the punch lines are excellant. You can bet Irvin Berlin will be trading songs with Sir Paul in heaven.

Jose Tirado ive been listening to this song since i was little and i still love it-
Its romantic so much...
One of the prettiest songs he ever wrote. And that is REALLY saying alot! Brilliant!
Minor key compositions are so touching and evocative.
I think this song is really for Linda, the love of his life.
And then the song ends in a major ! The strings.
That always kinda got me.
The minor can be Major
This song was written for Nancy Shevell
He very specifically wrote this for and about his current wife. Yeesh, it must be awful being married to a guy whose fans want you married to someone else.
This song shows that Sir Paul is the definition of perfect

Wow! Thank U, Nancy Shevell, for the beautiful inspiration!!!
In all the years he was married to Linda, Paul never wrote a song as lovely as this!
Beautiful and timeless. Makes me think of my own valentine. Love it
This is such a beautiful song. And his love for his new wife is so clear and lovely.
I know what I'm about to say may sound daft but I do believe this is the best song he's ever writtten

Paul proved that with this song, he is STILL better than any of today's songs! God Bless You Paul!
This has got quite a Sinatra-y vibe too it, I love it.
Paul McCartney is an "Earthly" gem, we have and never will see another like him.

Doing what he does best with such a beautifully simple, yet classy production. Thank you.

One of his best !
This song is as good of a song as Paul has ever written solo or with the Beatles. This song should get that deserving recognition.
What a wonderful treat from a master craftsman that has had a major part in creating much of the soundtrack to our lives. I tip my hat and bow sir.
Linda música

what a refreshing change of elogence from the usual humdrum that youtube strives always to be. The song is finely constructed, the punch lines are excellant. You can bet Irvin Berlin will be trading songs with Sir Paul in heaven.
