Honestly, the most useful video for sync climate control on youtube. I was wondering if you could run the face and feet blower at the same time, as well as the defrost and feet blower. This shows that you can. I assume this works on the Ranger too?
This video is more useful than the one on the Ford website. It answers a question I have about the Edge's climate control : During winter, is it possible to send warm air only to the defrost, side vents and floor? I assume that like all vehicles, defrost also sends air to side vents... Right? Another question about climate control on the Edge : Do I understand correctly that there are no physical buttons to control which vents are active (defrost, panel, floor)? One has to use the screen to make the proper selection.... Right?
Hi Bernard, I'm glad you found this video useful! For the Edge, you can send warm air to the defrost, side vents, and floor without sending air to the panel. Yes, defrost does send air to the side vents because the side vents are angled to keep the front windows defrosted. There is a physical button to turn on defrost, but you must use the touchscreen to activate either the panel or floor vents. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions! -Kyle
I did a conversion for this from sync 1 to Sync 3 and everything works great but my temp controls are backwards. Increasing the temperature make it colder and decreasing the temperature makes the air hotter. Weird.
When I turn on the defroster, it blows the air at 84 degrees. How can I change this setting? Having 84 degree heat blowing in the car when it is 103 degrees is not fun.
My climate settings for my remote start wont stay on the settings that I leave them on. I leave it on "auto" for my seats and heated wheel, than shut it off. When I start it back up, the settings are back to off.... What am I doing wrong???
Yes you can use automatic climate control with your remote start, but you have to program it first. To do this, go into the remote start settings using the 5-way thumb control pads on the steering wheel. Depending on the vehicle, there should be an option for heat/AC. Select that option, then you should see “auto” or the “last settings” options. Select the “auto” option. From now on, the cabin will either heat or cool until it reaches the temperature you have saved. You can do the same for the heated/cooled seats if your vehicle is equipped with them. Let me know if you have any other questions! Thank you! -Kyle
Hi Dawn, if your vehicle has rear climate controls, touch the Climate tab, and there will be a tab labeled “Rear” for all rear controls. You will be able to adjust fan speed, temperature, and a lock so the passengers can’t adjust your settings. -Kyle
Two things that seem unclear even though this video is far less unclear than Ford's: (1) How to get warm air only, and (2) how to get outside air into the cabin with no a/c or heat involved? In case it is relevant, this is a 2019 Fusion S.
Hi Blanche, I do not believe so but if you want to verify for your vehicle, go to settings, then clock settings. If there is a switch to turn it off, it will show it there. -Kyle
Is it a way where I can have warm air coming from the driver side and the passenger. It seems like one side of my car blows hot air and the passenger side is always cold. You said in the video that it tries to balance the air with hot/cold. It's winter and I need heat coming from the passenger. Please help
Hi Charley, There are several things that may be causing this issue. If you are using the automatic climate control feature, the vehicle will maintain the cabin at the temperature you set. If that’s the case, turn off both the Auto and A/C buttons and increase the temperature. Also, if the dual climate is on, turn it off. If you’ve done that and it’s still blowing cold air, make sure the passenger side vents are open. If you still can’t get it to heat up, there may be bigger issues that your local Ford dealership will need to solve. -Kyle
The XLT trim on the F-150 does not have SYNC 3 climate control; it has physical buttons to control the climate. However, I have heard of this happening on several occasions. The XLT doesn’t have dual climate control because it requires onscreen climate controls. Because of this, there is no way to permanently add the climate controls to the screen. -Kyle
I don't have a climate button on my screen but the climate control touch settings popped up On the screen today and I can't figure out how to get it back on the screen ???
Hi Vincent, not every vehicle with Sync 3 will have the climate button on the actual touch screen. Certain vehicles, (i.e. Focus) got rid of the touch screen buttons and added physical buttons below the screen. I'm assuming this is what happened for you. I would advise looking below the screen for the climate button. Let me know if that works! Thanks Vincent, Kyle
I have the same problem. Well not really a problem, but I have an XLT so I don't have the dual climate control or a climate tab on my display. But it randomly appears on my screen, usually when I first start the truck. I have a 2016
Press the climate control tab and the icon in the top left corner should be visible. If a Red Light is illuminated, it is on. Press to turn off. Let us know if you need further assistance.
