Toronto's Billy Bishop airport is a small regional airport right across from downtown Toronto. With the airport being so close to downtown, it has became very popular alternative from Pearson airport (YYZ) for travellers.
Due to runway constraints, the largest aircraft type allowed at the airport is a Dash 8.
The airline is home to Porter which flies to numerous of Canadian and U.S destinations, as well as Air Canada Express that flies from Montreal and Ottawa.
With the city being so close to the airport, it makes for some absolutely beautiful approaches; possibly the best in the country!
The approach for runway 26 passes the famous CN Tower and Rogers centre. This video was filmed on Toronto island which views the city, and the entire 26 approach (or 08 departure)
Toronto City airport has 2 runway; 26/08 is 3,988 feet and 24/06 is 2,460 feet. The airport sees a lot of General aviation including some flight schools based at the airport, and the only commercial airlines are Porter and Air Canada Q400.

Great footage from the Billy Bishop Airport, so cool seeing the city in the background. That's great you were able to catch the NavCanada CRJ doing its thing while you were there too!

Great video.
Would greatly support allowing regional jets to fly in the same way as in London City.
Noise level I am assuming would be even lower than the turboprops.. and so much more benefits to travelers comparing to Pearson..

Great video Mark. I love YTZ and try to use it each time I fly to Toronto. I remember using this airport in the late 1980's with City Express; I did some 50 flights with them, even got a Dash 7 once ! Shooting from the Island was nice, the sound of the waves is better than canned music, and the ducks quaking were a bonus. When in Toronto did you get to shoot the Russian monster stuck at YYZ, or is it gone now ? That NAV Canada CRJ has a nice neat paint job. .Another good one !
