  • This is a short episode of a flight we did form Greenbank, Ontario to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, also known as Toronto Island Airport, one of the most spectacular airports to fly into, where I had the privilege of starting my flight training back in 2001. Also we go for a walking tour of Downtown Toronto. And as a bonus we fly to Orillia Ramara Regional Airport for the 100 dollar hamburger, a place I found out about from Becki and Chris, check out their awesome UA-cam channel: • The $100 Hamburger!
In this video series I hope to offer a glimpse into the challenges of preparing and actually flying across the Atlantic ocean, navigating over the remote northern landscapes and vast stretches of water, and experiencing breathtaking views that only a small plane can offer. Join me as I share insights into the planning and execution of this flight, including the joys and challenges faced along the way. Whether you're a seasoned pilot, an aviation enthusiast, or someone who dreams of adventure, this video series offers something for everyone. I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I did.

That airport location is really cool that you can walk into downtown. I wish Chicago still had their downtown airport that was on the lake there.

Great video! How much do they charge you to park your plane at ytz for an afternoon?

It cost me $45 to land last year. Just stayed for an hour, so not sure of the parking rates.

Was way better before porter blocked the view of the airport from the land side. Seems their pax don't want to know their on a plane. Used to be a great Ga airport.

I flew into the city center airport a couple of years ago. I was on my way to Oshkosh... I live in Utah... Must have been a navigation error. It is an awesome airport, but a bit too busy for primary training in my opinion. That was my first and so far the only airport in Canada.

Except the expensive landing fee, and now there’s a notam denying entry into their control zone for non commercial non scheduled flights for the whole summer. unless your based out of there.

The NOTAM for the summer just says you need a PPR for sightseeing and VFR flights. They activate additional NOTAMs to deny various other flights for the day depending on expected traffic and staffing constraints.
So depending on the day, you may be able to transit through.
