yes thank you Stephen...lets face it, no matter where in the world you may find yourself everyone has a team that you support...bad or good times, your team is your team. Cheetah rugby may not be the strongest but there no doubt that we are among the best and toughest ...
Interesting and constructive debate and opinions here. For what its worth I think that this experiment has the potential to be very successful for the Cheetahs. At the very least its keeping the team alive until they get back into the Southern Hemisphere league. However, if it plays its cards right and if more teams arrive from the US and Easter Europe into a multi-section international league, they could corner the market for Summer Rugby in SA. I wish them the best of luck.
Well done cheetahs to all the negative comments from the other south african franchise supporters you dit not want the cheetahs and kings in the super rugby comp now that they found a new home we still have to listen to you attacking these two teams and how much better youre teams are. Stop being so negative and give them a chance or would you rather see them completely removed from rugby. And other than the bulls I dont see any of the other south african teams have to much to boast about in terms of super rugby trophies get. All south african teams needs our support including kings and cheetahs.
Peter186 compared to other South African sides like the Blues and Sharks they're rubbish. They were getting slapped up every week in Super Rugby so they have never really had a big fanbase. That's the reason they went to the Pro12, they were going nowhere where they were, same can be said for the Kings, but even in the Pro14 it can't be hidden how shit they are.
What do you reckon South Africans make of the two teams joining the league? I for one dont like the idea at all and think its a bit of a mess. The Pro 14 doesn't have the same cash as the English or French leagues but its as competitive and probably better rugby. I reckon the addition of the two "reject" south African teams devalues the league
Fin .Reilly It is now an international league, not a european league anymore. The fact that the South African sides have literally nothing to fight for because they can't compete in european competition besides the league (which neither of them will win) makes the whole move pointless! There needs to be more professional Rugby leagues, but there simply isnt enough teams. Truth is the Cheetahs and the Kings don't belong anywhere.
South Africa's economy is struggling especially in cities like Bloemfontein, people don't generally prioritise going to the game because they can't afford it. Plus the people are conservative and take a while to get accustomed to change, if the Cheetahs do good people will start to notice and get involved. By good I mean finals or semi's.
Aidan McGunnigal The first few seasons is treated like a test run for SARU, to see if it is worth it financially to move teams up north. The Cheetahs and King's can qualify for other European competitions after 3 years in Europe ( when the international season kicks in 2020) So there's is motivation. I'll expect more teams to move up in the coming years and if the King's fail to impress they will be switched with a team like the Sharks that have shown interest in joining the competition.
cheetahs !!! my heart and soul...keep it going boytjies...

The Cheetahs are such a good team, I really don't understand why their attendance is so poor
