Thank you so much Squash Skills for this excellent explanation of let and stroke. Your demonstration with Jethro as the perp is very helpful. Interference is sometimes very subtle and difficult to understand at best. I will be passing along your advice and recommending your channel, best regards.

What if you have swing interference, that you can, like you say just about play a shot. But then that results in a poor shot? Is it up to you then to ask for a let? The referee might say “you chose to play the shot”

Depends if Jethro has made an effort to clear. If Jethro clears and Striker goes through him, it's unavoidable and a Yes Let.

Except: the scenario at 5:05 where the player denies your best line - that's where today's refs will give a no let and tell you you took the 'wrong line'.

I know what you're saying and I think you're correct if the ball is going back left corner fading away but if it doesn't have enough width and the ball is mid court, not tight and the player is onto it quickly then it could be a stroke
