You're really recording your commentary as you paint? That's amazing, and the hallmark of a natural born teacher! I really love the one brush idea. It really helps one to stay focused instead of getting distracted by having an extra 2 or 3 brushed in the other hand.

Thank you so much for saying you use Liquin original to bind when you use thinner. I have started using thinner in my first layer recently because it makes things so easy. You just saved me so many upset buyers in the future 😅😂
Lovely, sunny painting as usual. Hey, I won a prize yesterday in a small town plein air competition which many hours of watching your videos helped me achieve. You should be proud cuz I just waltzed in there 3 hours before stop time and crushed it, lol. You just got yourself another Patreon supporter. Best wishes and thanks.
This was amazing! I would be terrified of that scene but you really helped me feel better about attempting it. The cars are so rad, love them! Thank you!
Really enjoy watching your brush move and the energy in your paintings 😄 I would have totally taken out the smaller brushes. Good to see what you can do with just one brush! Thanks Michael 👍🏽
Thanks Danny! Yes, alizarin original is a superior color. It's mixes so well with other colors, it's not overpowering. It's as irreplaceable as ultramarine! I wouldn't use if for glazing but in mixes it has a lightfast rating of 2 which is good enough for me.
I always look forward to your videos. I learn something every time. Ex: using Liquin helps paint bind to panel. Using odorless mineral spirits will break down the binding. What do you do when you paint indoors? I know you've said you don't use Liquin inside because of the smell. Wonderful video as usual. Thank you so much.
As always, a great final product (as well as great instructional information)! Wondering how much Liquin you're using in the paint...it seems like the initial layers tack up quite quickly and you're able to cover easily with subsequent layers...can you share this with us? Looking forward to next Sunday as always! Thanks in advance....
Thanks Charles! The amount of Liquin varies depending on how loose I want the paint. I use more in the beginning stages and less as the painting progresses.
Good harmony. Try using two sets of primaries: cool and warm…that is a cool yellow such as cad yellow light and a warm, that could be mellow ochre…you have a good cool red try adding cad red for warm…your blues are warm and cool…my thought is using the cool blends for background and warm for foreground. You are progressing with each painting. William
That's really interesting and useful regards the odourless spirit Vs liquin use, thanks for that. I don't know why I struggle so much with mediums, you make it nice and simple. Also do you just go ahead and stand in the middle of the road to paint?! 😅
Very nice painting, sir! I love these as well. // I'm just wondering if Leonardo da Vinci tried to paint, maybe, over the old Mona Lisa 1 to create the current version Mona Lisa 2? That would be cool too. I just hope that art historians, you know, keep their Liquins at home! Greetings from the EU!

Thanks! Yes, I’m sharing my thoughts as I paint.
Nice work Mike. I was squeamishing with bigger brush watching you paint those cars.
But you pulled it off.
boy did i learn a lot from this one. The importance of not rendering each object is really apparent here. Thanks again bro!
Thanks Ariah! Heading south soon 😊🤙

Never was drawn to street scenes, how ever that was amazing and very helpful and informative, thank you, I think I’ll have to give it a go!

Your videos are always eye-opening experiences!
Awesome plein air painting always ❤️❤️, and love the way u mix the colors, it looks natural and fun just to look at it
Thanks!
Great tip with the liquin preventing flaking off of paint! I will try that. Thanks. And amazing result for this challenging scene and one brush
Your simplification of everything is such a joy to watch and encouraging to TRY!! Thank you!
Thanks for all the tips.
Your videos make me feel both relaxed and excited to go and paint. Fantastic work 👏
Lovely! Using the same brush all along remind me when we drive with the empty tank to see if we can arrive with what remains LOL.
Thanks Martin! Yes, I almost ran out of gas lol

It's so tempting to grab a small brush. You'd probably be surprised at what you can accomplish with a larger brush!
you haven't used Burnt Sienna in this work. Very unusual for you. great video as always.
My next painting I'm going to try limited palette. Looks challenging but fun.
Wow - you make it look easy. Great flow and commentary Michael👏
Thanks Lesley!
Thanks Michael your videos are much appreciated a big part of my journey and really have expanded my paintings.....thanks again Dan
Thanks Dan! Glad you're finding my videos helpful :)
Love the bird song!
Me too!
One hour? Four colors? One brush? Dude.
It's been a long time since I've used a four color palette. It's a lot more flexible than I remembered!
Loving these street scenes you’ve been doing lately!
Wonderful experience, great outcome. Thank you, Mike.
Thank Dennis!
Well done Michael!
Keeping it simple works for me too.
Nice work as usual
Thanks Roger!
Thanks digging out the pthalo blue
Nice street scene, Michael!!!

Lovey painting! Is there a reason why you favor original alizarin as opposed to the permanent version?
Thanks Danny! Yes, alizarin original is a superior color. It's mixes so well with other colors, it's not overpowering. It's as irreplaceable as ultramarine! I wouldn't use if for glazing but in mixes it has a lightfast rating of 2 which is good enough for me.

Thanks Amy. I use a mixture of 1 part OMS, 1 part stand oil, 2 parts linseed oil, when painting inside. Or I'll use Gamblin Solvent Free Gel.

Really like your street and urban paintings. Do you ever use Liquin rather than MS to do a wash?
Thanks Doug. I don't do a wash with mineral spirits alone unless I'm painting on canvas. I always use Liquin to thin the paint for the block in.

I want to get more into outdoor oil painting but it takes so long to dry. how do you keep the finished paintings protected when transporting them?
I use a wet panel carrier. You can make them yourself or buy online :)
cool
