Everyone's hair is different, which I know you already know 🙃 with that being said...this is my 2nd journey and what I have noticed is that...my 1st journey I had small to medium sized traditional locs and by my 6th month most of my locs were budded and were mostly fully loc'd by my 8th month , my ends had not yet rounded fully. On this journey I have micro to small locs and I am 8 months loc'd and I am only about 75% budded, and a lot of my locs are still soft. I was told that larger locs, loc faster because there is more hair shedding and falling into the shaft to create the budding/locking process vs smaller locs there is less hair shedding so the process takes longer...which I guess when I did the comparison it makes sense
@@ameliedomori5412 Good to know! I think what’s helpful is thinking about how by next year this time, they should all be locked and if it happens faster, that’s cool too.
Thank you so much! I think part of why my parts are staying is because I interlock a little more often than I’ve heard some people talk about. I interlock every 4-4.5 weeks. I do not pull it ridiculously tight so I am not putting more tension on my roots or my hair, but it is helpful to do that maintenance before the roots get so wild that you can’t see the parts. At least that’s what works for me.
So I have traditional sized locs , I’m 8 months in & I would say that about 75% of my hair is locked but only 25% of that 75 are fully locked lol! When I say fully locked I mean the ends are locked. I started with 2 strand twists & my hair is definitely 4c ... loved the video 🥰

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! 🙂 That does make a lot of sense.
I'm 11 months in and am almost fully locked. I have 180-190 locs so I agree.
Love your locs 😍

@@ameliedomori5412 And thank you! ☺️
I’m 20 months in and my hair is still doing the “curl situation” LOL! I think it will be like this for a few more years 😎
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! 🙂 Some have said that smaller locs lock slower. Do you think your locs are larger or smaller than mine? 😃
Ava Ness I have sisterlocks so they are pretty small
Your locs are coming along great. I love that your parts still look good. My parts are slipping away.

That’s awesome! Thank you so much for watching and responding. I hope your locs continue to flourish!

@@aVAness Always a pleasure! Thank you for reaching out to me on my channel earlier! =)
I am in month 22 and not completely locked.
Oh wow! Good to know! Do you know what your hair type/curl type is? Like 4a, 4b, 4c, etc?
Your not weird I did the same thing with my loose hair lol
Just checked out your channel! Congrats on starting your loc journey!
