    This is a significant improvement to my current remote control method of my fermentation temperature... calling home and asking somebody to head down to the basement for me.

    I use this, and found the biggest benefit is just being able to control it from anywhere. I often make adjustments when away from home, like ramping up heat, starting cold crash, etc. Even if I’m home it’s just easier to open the app and make a quick change, rather than go out to the garage and fiddle with it. It’s also great to have alerts in case something breaks down, especially this winter. I’d hat to come home to a 6 gallon ice cube in my garage fermentation chamber.

    Great review. I guess I don’t have to reply to “May” at Inkbird about sending me one to review. Yours covered it so well that I don’t know what useful new information I could add on my channel. 😄

    I use this temp controller now as my main one. I love it! I have used Inkbird products for many years. They make some killer equipment. Very reliable, very easy to use. I do not use the automation side of things, but it is interesting topic you've brought up here and thank you for showing a different angle on this device. Cheers!

    Just got one of these and did our first brew, and the fermentation in a used keezer we bought. The Inkbird controlling some plant heating mats and the keezer doing the cooling kept the temp within a couple of degrees. Yeah, the app isn't the most thrilling, but it sure made setting the temp, high/low and hysteresis values pretty darned easy.

    Cheers Brian! Glad my vid made it to your recommendation list! Yes the TILT does have a fixed cell from memory for current reading. I've also been playing with the sheet to calculate current attenuation with the hope of then automating a "free rise" to d rest. Interesting and fun stuff!

      @@ShortCircuitedBrewers ya know, with a regular inkbird controller, operating it with a WiOn outlet switch would actually have better functionality, though still some limitations just not as much. Im working on a custom one for my HWH in the house, got to install a new one in a few weeks.

    You've done a grear reveiw, loving your attention to graphics with the iPhone..👍 This is where I think Inkbird needs to pay attention, I looked at this product for my brewery build. I decided to wait until more development has taken place, its all proprietary at the moment and no linking with brewing software ie. Brewsmith, Brewfather this is where the power can take place these firms are not talking to each another . We have BrewPi and all the wonder stuff that teachnology has to bring. This product in my view has lack luster, it gives a taste of what can be done, but as brewers we can have more effective systems for the home brewer market, this wouldn't take much effort on the product developer part. Its a big step forward but with little effort, given the IT market place. If we had a product that can link in with various technology, that would play a part with a powerful brewing system. We'll all be onboard with that I think, these product producers need to get their thinking caps on. Brian a great product review hats of to your impartial opionion well valued in my view, all the best and Mash On!

    • @Zandebrew
      @Zandebrew 4 роки тому

      @@ShortCircuitedBrewers A standard set is too much to ask for in my opinion as the homebrew market is small compared to big business. But talking together plays a big part in various technology and they can find common ground. As they've found common ground with the apps, a good system we'll all be onboard with that. All the best and Mash On!👍🍻

    I have just got the product and tried to set it up. I am trying to create a 'day time' and 'night time' automation for different temps. I am able to create smart automation based on the condition - time - to set the temperature value. I have created 2 of these for a day and night temp. For some reason however, these automations are not being applied to the device i have seleted it to - even though it is instructing the device to change the temperature based on a certain condition (time) the device is still regulating temperature at the set temperature on the device homepage - how can i 'apply' the special automation settings.

    As usual a very intelligent review. Sadly the bit that knocked my socks of was the reminder that more registrations & passwords need to be generated & added to the encyclopedic volume of the ones I already have. I've had enough of all that and now look forward to pursuing an old analogue existence and simpler lifestyle :-0 I think the main thing to take out of todays modern technology is that the first customers should be renamed to 'BETA TESTERS' and customers who expect things to work as advertised should wait for version 4 or later :-0
    In Australia this year they've been telling us hapless citizens to be prepared for power cuts & blackouts in some states over the summer due to increasing power supply problems, so more automation might just mean more headaches for brewers. A good review mate but now get back in the cellar and start brewing! LOL
