    This helped me fix my hand mixer. The pin connecting the speed control switch came off. Didn't know how to open it without breaking the clips. But, your video helped me take it apart without breaking any clips.
    I think the switch assembly is a little different from the model shown in the video. Puttng the pin back in place was a little tricky. But, I was able to do it with the help of my wife's smaller hands.
    Now it's working great👍
    Thanks a lot 😊

      Nice work! Thats why I love UA-cam, there is so much knowledge! But you do have to dig through all the non relevant videos on that topic, that sadly are in a ratio of 10:1 :))))

      Same here! I got a slightly different model from a friend for free who didn’t bother to look into it after 2 months of use. Thanks to your video, I opened it, found the dislocate metal piece controlling the speed, put it back together again and it works! Once less thing in the landfill! Thank you!

      Same here. The pin fell off. Funny how such a small thing can mess up a lot of mixers and probably fill up landfills (like the other person said)

    This was helpful. Thank you. Not complaining, but we did miss seeing a lot of what you did inside the handle, with the controls in it, because it was out of the picture, at the top, a large portion of the time.

      @@letsfixitgarage Thanks again. No problem. For myself, I wouldn't even be working on one, but women stay sentimental over gifts, from their children, and she asked me to fix it. Without information like yours, it is difficult to figure out how to get into it, without tearing it up. You saved me from making that mistake. She has stripped out beater drive gears, both of them.

    i'd be curious if you get a kitchenaid cordless had mixer in your hands and see what kinds of internals is has. If the motor is brushless and what battery size and type.

    Where could I find gears for this model? Those hollow ones, that beaters run through.

      thats always difficult... if kitchenaid support is not able to provide it im afraid you are out off luck..

      Haven't had that kind off problem..I would suspect problem on the board.. but for that a closer inspection is needed..

    This is so hard to open, I can't get that first silver plastic piece off

  • @Busa55boy

    1 smack with a rubber hammer popped the silver cover off mine. Removed the 2 screws then another whack opened the main case. Still scrapped the machine as the electronic control had gone AWOL.

      @letsfixitgarage  3 роки тому

      Edit. Thought that the comment was on another video :D it seams that electronics are the weak side of this thing.. had problems with mine too..

    • @dilippremmohan6370
      @dilippremmohan6370 3 роки тому

      Yes.. I was also not able to push that part apart with my hands. Then I saw this comment and gave a small hit with a rubber hammer and was able to take it apart without any damage to the clips. 👍
      Thanks for sharing your experience 🙂

    Hi! My wobbles terribly and it's brend new... I'm sooo disappointed... I'll have to open it myself as we bought it abroad while on winter holidays, on some Christmas sale... I guess Europe and American models are very far apart.

      are they different in appearance or internals?

  • @Zach-sg5uu
    @Zach-sg5uu Рік тому +1

    They disguise that KitchenAid handmixer to look much better than it is!
    Yet it has creaky plastic & crappy plastic gears!!
    There’s not even grease on the gears!!
    So you’re better off with a cheaper one!

    • @letsfixitgarage
      @letsfixitgarage  Рік тому +1

      Quality plastic in its calculated loads is better than Steel.. it's much quieter..

    • @Zach-sg5uu
      @Zach-sg5uu 25 днів тому

      @@letsfixitgarage Except from all the noise of the clinking and the motor. I don’t think you’ll really hear the gears if they’re plastic or metal and greased!
      You’d have to go back quite a ways in the US to get the metal gears.
      They should certainly be greased.

      Sorry about that. I try to improve myself in future videos, but when something is stuck it's very difficult to stay in shot..
