I address that exact issue in this tutorial. Never a good idea to try and focus stack when things are blowing around. You can almost always find gaps in the wind in which to capture the images. Regardless the goals of using a low iso as possible, a fast enough shutter speed, and the right aperture for that job is the point of the video.
@@JSnowPhoto even if you wait for gaps in the winds, things within your scene like leaves, petals, stems, branches etc do not return to the same location from exposure to exposure. I just have not had very good success with scenes that have grasses, leaves etc unless it is dead still like early in the morning just before sunrise before the air starts to stir.
@ it is inevitable. They never will be in exactly the same position but still better than shooting during the wind. The point of this video was to show you A. How to choose the best settings for a scene like that, and b. How to fix the issues that occur from things not blending well during the focus stack. There is no software that will EVER blend the images perfectly. You will always have to fix artifacts yourself manually one way or another. If you didn’t watch the video in its entirety, I would watch it again.
Very, very nicely done. I'd love to see you render this same stack in Helicon! With more tools regulating the algorithms, it theoretically could be better in some situations, BUT I find the editor to selectively select specific images for specific details (as you did here) confusing.
Thanks a lot Tim! I should do a video on helicon as well. I dont know why but about a year ago I noticed photoshop began doing a much better job over helicon and I stopped using it. Usually the horizon gets screwed up in helicon.
Thanks for the tips.
I've heard of focus stacking with macro photography, but not with landscapes...very cool, can't wait to try this out
Thanks for putting the time into making these tutorial videos. I know they are a lot of work, but I appreciate them. Especially this one - loved it!
Well I appreciate that!! And you for watching! Thank you!
Nice demo!
Thank you!
awesome video brother the focus bracket king
Thanks brother!!🙌🏼🙌🏼
Great video as usual. Thank you.
Awesome video! Thanks!!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't especially if there is lots of movement due to the wind force.

Thanks Bruce!!
