Your video reminds us of just how few of the LNER's Big Engine types survived into preservation. I guess that's to do in no small part with their near zero representation at Barry scrapyard (unlike GWR, SR & BR Standard types that now dominate the preservation scene). Still need to get myself a Peppercorn A2!
I entirely agree Stephen. I understand when Pegler bought Scotsman, he also bought the boiler off 60041. What a shame he didn't buy the complete loco! Still at least we have a number of A4s and Blue Peter.
@@DougsModelRailway i’m not sure if this 100% counts as LNER since while they were designed by that company they weren’t actually used until the takeover by BR but the A1 peppercorns did in the end get represented even if not a single one survived. I mean we have quite a debt to the people who built tornado, considering they allowed the preservation community to fill in a gap that was left by the demise of the original A1 peppercorns. In fact, they are actually building a new LNER locomotive specifically the P2 class and the new example will be named LNER 2007 prince of Wales.
Lovely!!! Thanks for sharing Doug. Cheers, Bob
Thoroughly enjoyable Doug great filming mate,Stewart
For a much smaller staion than Birmingham New Street, it has a very intensive service, lol 🤣🤣 👍👍👍👍
