Doug's Model Railway
Приєднався 7 кві 2023
I have been putting videos and pictures of my layout on FB and having some nice comments so I thought I would try my luck on here.
My interest in railways both model and the real thing began when my father bought me my first train set at 4 years old and it has been with me for the whole of my life.
I was a trainspotter in the 60s traveling the whole of the UK to find steam and then as the years have gone by I have been lucky to travel the world, USA, China, South Africa, Russia, Germany to name a few to video steam, which hopefully will appear on another channel shortly.

The latest addition to my fleet. This Silver Fox Class 119 DMU is wonderful! The paintwork and lining is excellent. A worthy addition, and not the last. Thoroughly recommend Silver Fox. Totally satisfied.

I love my Sonic A5!

The Sonic A5 is a lovely model in every way. I have slightly weathered it to give a workman like appearance. Here we see her coming off shed, going to the station before taking out a local consisting of Gresley Suburban stock. If you enjoy it please Like and Subscribe - its FREE!.
Nice layout . I’m intrigued . How did you do the 127? Looks really good
its a Silver Fox Kit. Excellent!
@@DougsModelRailway thanks for coming back . Does it run on a Lima chassis?

Thanks for sharing! Your layout and railway room looks a lot like mine with exposed beams! Could you tell me what size it is please? I have 15x8 to play with and have not been totally satisfied with the present design that l’ve built into it? Well done!👍
Thank you. I am very lucky, the loft is 35ftx25. My advice - get a bungalow!
That's some serious track laying, flawless, good job 👍 thanks for sharing
Nice variety of trains love the scene with stored loco’s & breakdown crane 👍
I really enjoy seeing your railway keep up the good work
Thanks Doug, another great session. I don't remember Britannia's myself, they didn't travel my patch. But good looking machines. I've seen Britannia herself in preservation though. 👍👍👍
Great stuff Doug !
Brilliant!!!👏👏👏
t time with
👍👍👍
Superb layout❤ Regards Elizabeth
Wow amazing layout 👍🏻and I thought I had lots of locos with 105🤣
Nice looking railway.
Hi. Bloody hell thats a big layout. Lots of loco's too. I think that I would not leave that room for some time. Really nice.
"Come on," Gordon called to the coaches. "Come on, come on, come on. The passengers rely on me to be on time."
Good one Doug !
Fabulous collection!!👏👏👏
Love the Silver Fox models, too. Got some great Irish outline locos from John.
I really love British diesels from this era. What is your favorite steam locomotive and diesel locomotive?
I think the LMS Coronation and the Deltic
oooh this is a nice one Dougie! I've been looking for a green period DMU for Burslem, I'll keep my eye out for these! Looks a really good runner...
Very nice indeed 🎉
Very nice, thanks for sharing. Dave
Lovely models, but a pity thet they don't have sound. (and steam Haha)
Love the coffee pot 😊
Thank you for showing us this video, I love the Southern & the Bulleid Pacifics, even the rebuilt ones.
Great video! I have to say the southern railway Q1 is my favorite locomotive of the southern railway. By the way, do you have any models of the American S160 locomotives?
Thank you. No I don't have an S160. I'm very particular in that I only run locos that were running 57-68.
@@DougsModelRailway well in that case any S100’s? I think those ran postwar for quite a while? Any of the original a1 peppercorn locomotives?
No, as I said I am very particular, nothing before 1957. Yes I have A1s, they are in my other videos.
@@DougsModelRailway I thought that some s100’s stayed behind after dday and were being used by BR at that point? I know that they inspired a steam locomotive class that was used on the ex-GWR
My apologies Lucas. By the S100 you mean what we refer to as a USA Tank! Yes they lasted until the end of steam on the Southern Region in July 1967. Yes I do have one which will appear in the videos.@@lucasquintanilla1673
While not being a Southern fan, the Bulleid Pacifics have incredible sense of presence, which carried through well into the BR period. Thanks so much for sharing, I do find myself just looking at all the superquick models though, and the graceful permanent way curves you have created.
Thank you. I'm very lucky in that the loft space is 35ftx25 so plenty of room !
nice video, reminds me of a junior school outing from Southampton to London the day after the end of steam, with row upon row of steam engines to be seen as we went through Eastleigh.
What a beautiful layout. Well done! I could watch this all day! Liked and Subbed! Cheers, Andy
Bloody brilliant 👍
Beautiful scenes from your layout. Greetings Joe 😊
I have a 4sub set be it in brass kit form to make, just been sitting in my loft for years😢
Got to confess Edward, I was lucky to buy my 4SUB at an auction!
Great video. Thanks
I can never understand why nobody has produced a model of the 4-sub (Queen Mary) suburban stock. These were the backbone of commuter travel for many years.
Agreed, and the 4COR! I was lucky to pick up a kit built 4SUB. Have you seen my video entitle SR EMUS?
@@DougsModelRailway I will look for your video. I was aware that someone was making 4-Sub kit models but my advanced age and skills were not enough to take it on.
Lovely layout mate a pleasure to watch cheers 🥂
Great ! Assume the C2X is a kit built loco. Are you going to get any of the EFE booster loco's Doug ? I have the black livery BR version running currently , all the best Stewart
Hi Stuart. Yes to both! The C2X is a kit and I have a BR Green Booster. very nice model.
Nice session. 👍👍👍
Looking good Doug, from Doug.😁👍
Ever since I was little and my neighbour had a book with train pictures showing green coaches (I grew up in the Midlands in the seventies and only knew blue and grey and maybe maroon) I’ve had a thing for green coaches. I’ve got a full set of Maunsell olive green coaches for my railway and a matching King Arthur to pull them. Despite being a firm western and midland modeller, it’s amongst my favourite trains to run.
Just wondering what make are the coaches, especially the buffet?
They are Ian Kirk kits
@@DougsModelRailway thanks
Wow excellent
Nice one Doug, Stewart
Great video, greetings 🚂👍🙋♂️
Good one Doug; I'm modelling from the other side of Bournemouth - Brockenhurst in 1961 or thereabouts, so it is good to see another layout from roughly the same era, and roughly the same area. I'd be interested to see more of your layout. Did you build the turntable
Hi David As you will see fro0m my videos, I run all regions, I have no favourites I love them all! In a Southern phase at the moment so more videos to come. The turntables are Fleishmann.
Your lay out looks very good.good video .
Nice one Doug, those USA tanks are a great model like you I have the green livery one as well as a BR black as well, look forward to seeing more from your layout, Stewart
I enjoy your railway very much hope to see more tony
What a fantastic layout!
What an amazing layout, well done sir. So much to see, the attention to detail is first class. I shall be watching again . 👍🚂🚃
Nice running session. Is that a Lima 33 on yhe push pull ?? Had a couple myself many years ago. The lads in the goods shed have overloaded the meat van i noticed lol 🤣. 👍👍👍👍
