𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 that Kerala's Vizhinjam port has an ancient & glorious history..? It was once a world famous port before it was constantly attacked and destroyed by the Pandyas & Cholas of Tamil Nadu kingdom. Many ships from many foreign countries like China, Rome and Arabian countries came to this port for trade. Black pepper, which was found only in Kerala, was in great demand and attracted more foreign traders. The Periplus of the Erythraean sea, a Greek travelogue written in the 1st century AD, mentions the port of Vizhinjam. It is also recorded in the Peutinger table. It is certain that the new Vizhinjam port will bring great progress to India.❤️

Kerala gov contribution 5500 cr for this project, adani contribution 2500, and central gov gave 800. Total budget of around 9000cr for now seeing 1st phase. Phase 2,3,4 are yet to be constructed by 2028-2029 deadline and further adani group will be investing 20000crore more for the total completion. This semi-automated port has a natural birth depth of 20-24meters which no other ports in india have which can bring in the worlds biggest motherships like MSC IRINA & ULCV( ultra large container vessel's )easily. This port also stands in a strategical point of just 10 notical miles from international shipping route which will help reduce whole indias logistics cost and boost our economy.its India's first transshipment port!!China owning one of the ports in colombo - srilanka tells the importance of this port in future geopolitical conflicts)

There is a six-lane express highway currently under construction, which will significantly improve transportation. The highway from Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai is expected to be completed before 2025.

Phase . Full port completion by 2029 , by then the road connectivity would be ready to Tamil Nadu . Rail link via tunnel should be ready by 2030 too .
But primarily it is a transshipment port , requiring road infra for only allied activities.
The state govt is too snobbish to help the centre with land acquisition.
Hope my amazon packages will be cheaper after all this big talk....

The project was indeed initiated by congress cm oomen chandi with the coordinated work of adani...even adani himself praised and remembered oomen chandi in the inauguration too...ldf government has nothing to do with this project
