The real musicians are not appreciated enough in this digital era. Shout out to Terrance Martin for being a master musician that keeps musicianship and creativity alive.
As a former 8 instrument musician and a lover of all shades of orchestra, this interview and Robert Glasper have been the most fulfilling reminders that true musicianship is not dead.
Yall need to get Eric Roberson on the show!! Hands down one the best to ever hold a pen and Terrance Martin is correct about his shows… he knocks em out!
Thank You J Valentine & Tank!! Not too many people I can tolerate talking so damn much.. but I can listen Terrace & Glasper speak all day. Top 5 episode faSho.
I'm glad Eric Roberson received his flowers today. He is a great artist. My favorites by him are "The Moon", "Lessons", and "She". Another great show guys!
You can tell how creative this man is by all of the breaks/chapters in the You Tube recording. 2.5 hrs that pass like 20 min because he takes you on a journey. LOVED learning more about this music legend.
This was a conversation that I thought I didn’t need however one thing I have learned from watching R&B Money Since the beginning is that just because the person may not be familiar to you still give it a try & a listening ear & learn .Thanks to Terrance Martin for being Transparent in his Journey & now I know why the Core is so important ❤
Masterclass right here. I damn near broke out a pen and a pad. Terrace been that dude. I had the privilege of meeting him after a R+R=NOW show in DC a few years back, and he’s so humble and kind. Much respect to his genius ❤❤❤❤
I just love R&b. I love music I do not come from a family that plays instruments nor do they live music as much as I do. I'm just learning to play the drums. lol, But music is my soul. Thank you for making the music you do.. you just have no idea how much I appreciate you all. The people that get the opportunity to be apart, I wish I could. All of you are amazing thank you
This episode is the shitttt!! Terrance such a vibe this coulda went all day for me! I’d love to sit around and hear all of his stories musically and personally!
This is amazing. I’ve been playing Terrace and Alex Isley’s ‘I Left My Heart in Ladera’ album all week, so it’s so dope to see this timeless legend finally get an episode on one of the best podcasts ever.🔥🔥🔥
I respect this brother’s musicianship and his accomplishments! And his belief and appreciation for Cincinnati’s own Arin Ray. Let’s get it!! #TwoKings‼️
I have loved every single moment of this episode. I've never heard of him but I'm locked in now. What I respect to the utmost is the phone call to the parents to come get their baby. In a world where far too many adults will see the pitfalls and still let these babies fall off a cliff it is so good to know there's at least one person that thinks "if this were my baby......."
Enjoyed learning more about this young man. Got a little lost at times, but what I love is that these two make everyone so comfortable to be themselves and tell their stories. It's beautiful.
My generations coltrane. Love Terrace martin since first here my dear mixtape and 3chord fold mixtape. I still play 3chord fold religiously. Velvet portraits is one of my favorite albums of all time. Thank you guys for having him here blends jazz, hip hop and r&b masterfully.
Being from Cali, this whole interview had me cracking up! He is so Cali! I love down to earth musicians. He’s awesome and talented. So happy I got to hear his story
Bumped into Terrace at Burbank airport apparently both coming from the Bay Area, him coming from a gig and me doing a gig in Pasadena. And the bulk of our convo was his love for Oakland. Terrace is a representation of Californian musicianship. The Bay and LA have very different styles, but Cali and the whole west coast has a sound that no matter where I go in the world I’m so proud to flaunt my Cali swag. And Terrace embodies all that represents! Peace and love from the wesside
This podcast is so important. Thank you for bringing such great talented artists to our attention. But when that Top 5 comes it takes me out every time🤣🤣🤣 I start to sing it and then instant burst out into laughter. Love this show!❤
Terrace Martin’s two drink minimum is probably one of my favorites I hope he makes more stuff like that.. but definitely love the album he did with Alex Isley as well… he’s too versatile
Just made it to the point of 'To pimp a butterfly'. That album is 🤌🏾 I have to go listen! It's been a while. As soon as I'm done here, I'm on it! Thank you J and Tank for this podcast! I was late but I'm here!
Still vividly remember hearing TPAB the day it came out and the chills I got as I went thru it! It’s pretty crazy that a lot of so-called “hip hop heads” overlook it and think GKMC was the superior album. I honestly think TPAB should’ve been the one that got Dot the Pulitzer instead of DAMN. But he deserves it either way.
Thank you for giving Terrace Martin his flowers. This was really good. Now that I've seen Terrace and Robert Glasper, I really hope Chris Dave, Derrick Hodge, Spanky and the like get some shine on this beautiful platform as well.
I'm so happy you guys let him come after cancelling ❤❤❤ because he's a wealth of knowledge just seeing and hearing him go back in time remembering his journey is valuable as always Thanks J & Tank ❤️❤️❤️ you guys are the greatest 💐💐💐
Another one! I like this guy, he's the truth. Hes had a heck of a journey with great stories. His top fives were amazing! I love me some Faith, she doesn't get mentioned enough. And FINALLY somebody says the late, great Jesse Powell!!! Good look my brotha. 😊👏🏾❤
Maaaaan this is one of them ones! As an Atlanta artist i can say ive always had so much respect for LA . They are MUSICIANS! We might outwrite yal on the song side but LA got the instrumentation on LOCK! And its so incredibly deep and sophisticated. Terrace, 1500, james, kamasi, iman omari, name it. These guys are incredible on the recording and instrumentation side and i realize i need to get to LA for at least a year bruh its DIFFERENT out there!!
I really appreciate this podcast for giving these artists a space to speak and reflect and just be because it really seems like these artists don't get that opportunity that much. Terrace Martin really needed to speak it seems like. Credit to Tank and J for being who they are for these artists because it's all love every episode. One of the most necessary and best podcasts in a minute.
you betta tell yo story before they tell it and F*%k It up!!!! , know your craft ! I wrote so much notes . bro is a musical genius 4real - appreciate yall❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥

That album is bananas & next time you see Bossladie on a tour, I'll definitely be her saxophonist!🤘🏾
I hope Alex Isley will be up here in the near future. 🤞🏾🤞🏾
