Those Breakaway Cannons are very good. I've been using them for a few years on my 15ft rods here in the UK. Helps with casting distance too. Norman from Breakaway UK is a really nice guy. Beware of imitations & fakes online - there are a lot out there. £10.32 here in the UK direct from Breakaway tackle, so at current exchange rates, 12.83 of your US Dollars! 🎣🎣👍👍
I mounted mine to where the bottom of where you wrap your line is level with the Top of the spool works better for Me That way But definitely a Finger Saver for sure With slinging 8oz weights and big baits

Africa some rod have then already attach when you buy the rod .
I bought two of them
Cast Cannons
Get them on Amazon they are $ 16.00
And you wrap the line twice on the cannon
There's no good way to intall that contraption unless you glass it on like an eye.
Tape is tacky, and it won't last.
Actually the electrical tape is easy and works great. I haven’t had an issue since I installed. And the break saves my finger like a dream.
