I didn’t see it as a comedy when I was a kid and had to watch it because we only had one channel in New Zealand and tv was compulsory it seems but it’s very funny almost a laugh a minute
@@danrobinson572 Yes they went to Ireland and left her with the pub owners - you see it was her father but the girls mother was dead and he had only recently married the other lady so Lucille wanted to stay with the Walkers who were like an aunt and uncle to her - i think her father died too after that so she ended up with no real parents
@@williamf4544hey werent just married, they had a baby, Christopher before moving to Ireland. Her father, Frank Hewitt, died on a visit back to the UK for Elsie's marriage to Steve Tanner. Frank was killed when a truck fell on him as he was trying to fix it, i think the truck belonged to Len.
Why don't you go back and tell them when the mission hall was built, Emily, to kill a bit more time? You must know, from your friendship with Mr Swindley! 😂😂
Talk about the big fat pot calling the big fat kettle black! Len & Len Jr. The pudgy handyman with nearly the personality of Home Improvement's Tim Allen's silent partner Al, I think his name was!
Elizabeth Ross-Watson only the first 13 eps we’re actually live love.... and then after that only special anniversary episodes were live throughout the years
Lucy Badman Oh really - and yet she was one of the most popular performers on the show. Not bad for ‘shite acting’ and she is still remembered. Who are you again?🤣
When purchasing clothes from a store like Gama did everyone have to have it taylored to fit? Couldn't you just buy your size? Geez why wouldn't Val cut the tag instead of just telling someone your tag is out in the back knowing it's Val's job to make sure they look ok as they go. And why couldn't Sandra just nudge the announcer to tell her to skip an outfit. And 1 before the interval she had them wait & wait when she could just go to break. Obviously the drama of these issues makes up the meat of this less than exciting episode. They can't all be great masterpieces! The episodes regardless of quality are still treasured, for all one can learn so much about the past!
Elsie and Dennis were a hilarious double act!
Written by Jack Rosenthal, hence the beauty and wit of the dialogue.

Especially when Jack Rosenthal's on scriptwriting duties!

That girl who had her hair done. Did her parents go to Ireland and leave her with the salon owners. Do they come back for her or not?

Not surprised Charlie shut up when he realised he was talking to Irma and Sandra's fathers as well as Lucille's guardians!
I can understand why Pat Phoenix was upset when Philip Lowrie left the show. They were so good together.
Hilarious episode. Couldnt stop laughing at the mannequin parade 😅

Always stressful watching Elsie...so much anger. 😣
Caroline G and shite acting 😾
@@Lucy0809 Pat's acting would've been better if she slowed down a bit. Less tripping over her lines.
