Another example of astrology in the Bible is the angel with the face of a bull, lion, eagle and human. Its a reference to the fixed signs taurus, leo, scorpio and aquarius.

I am so happy you made this video. People like Stephen Hawking could maybe benefit from Astrology. Maybe part of the problem he's experiencing is due to the fact that he has 0 water in his chart. I get so sick of Neil Tyson DeGrassee bringing up this damn Ophiuchus in his rants about Astrology. I've never understood peoples attitude about something that's not fighting them. People act like Astrology is asking you to stop believing in something. Astrology is not about a belief. It always made ma laugh when people will go against astrology and say it's "woo woo" and then go say how if you lie some god that they never seen will judge you. Its great you get to choose what you believe in, but i'd rather believe in something that doesn't judge me for tiny things. I watched a video the other day about a guy "disproving astrology" he walked around asking people their signs and would read from a book aloud and ask them if that sounded similar to them. When in reality he was reading about a different sign. It was so frustrating to me to see someone with such a bold opinion and no knowledge. Great video!!
I love the part about astrology, mediums, and the bible. I have always felt that my former religion, Christianity, "opened me up" to all types of spiritual ideas and practices - spirits, ghosts, mediums, psychics, angels, etc - and now that I am a non-Christian I found it interesting that religious folks are so anti- practices that are a part of their own tradition but cast under a different light i.e. prophet vs medium, body work (reiki, etc) vs miracle healing, ghosts vs demons.
Astrology is the first science, the only real scientific science to find out who you really are. My sun sign didn't change but my ascendant did after I did a sidereal natal chart. My moon also changed as well as houses for several planets. For me, the tropical houses did not suit me and I was frustrated constantly trying to find me. Now that I have discovered my actual planetary influences the pieces have fit and even your, Alyssa, your videos make much more sense because I can relate to each video because I have an accurate natal chart.

Ophiuchus is more than just data collection. Scorpio is actually data collection and research and Ophiuchus is the transmutation of that information so that Sagittarius can have that enlightenment.

I have studied Astrology for almost 5 years and mostly tropical. But lately during this transit Neptune Rx, I realized what I didn't before about sidereal. And Ophiuchus as well as Cetus.
Tropical Astrology is a LITTLE arbitrary because, LIKE YOU SAID the signs are changing every approx 1800 years. However, in the other direction. So by approx year 2600, what is originally Pisces Sun for example will become Aquarius. Not Pisces to Aries. I believe that is a misconception.
The reason I say that it's kind of arbitrary,(considering what I just mentioned) is because we are choosing to move the signs forward and then define them based on our assumptions and perceptions on the mythologies of the constellations, since Western doesn't base it on the constellations.
ALSO! Ophiuchus is part of Scorpio, rather than Sag. In MYTHOLOGY, Ophiuchus was killed by Zeus because he kept healing people and saving their lives and it infuriated Pluto because he was no longer getting dead people to guide and getting bored. So he had Zeus kill him.

I used to be very much into astrology. I once had a chart reading and often followed my horoscope. However, I also developed an interest in astronomy and then realised that the universe doesn't always work in a predictable fashion and that there are in fact many dwarf planets and comets out there at the edge of the solar system that we are only yet discovering.
The fact is that constellations don't actually exist in reality. They are only arbitrary symbols that we attribute to the stars as we perceive them from Earth, e.g. what appears as a scorpian, scales, ram, lion etc. simply do not exist in reality and would actually appear very different if viewed from another perspective in outer space.
Astrology certainly maps planetary movements accurately and there's merit in that. The art of creating charts is certainly quite detailed and precise. However, the signs are simply placeholders in the sky which date back to ancient Greek mythology. Geocentrism, (of Ptolemy) progressed to heliocentrism, (of Copernicus) which was then superseded by the theories of Galileo.
Eventually, after the theories of Newton and Einstein we came to our current understanding of the universe.
I'm not suggesting that the movements of planets have no affect on us at all, rather I'm saying that astrology's frame of reference (i.e. constellations) are archaic and arbitrary; they are based on mythology.

How do you feel about Vedic astrology? I read that the signs in western and vedic are the same, but the definitions of them are just swapped. Kind of hard to really pin down what something really is, because for example in Vedic Im a Capricorn and in Western I'm an Aquarius. And I was listening to a video on the traits for vedic capricorn and it sounds a lot to me like Western aquarius. Any thoughts? Also the same with vedic scorpio and western sag. I mean it's hard though to decipher for me anyway because I find aquarius and capricorn and scorpio and sagittarius pretty similar. It's just kind of confusing. Not sure if what that person said was true or not, about same signs and swapping the descriptions. Any thoughts?
Straight up certain signs rule certain HOUSES. Astrology is not based on physical star placements. The knowledge of Astrology originally came to us from the ancient Sumerians which is from the Annunaki. Good video 👍

I love how you talk about needing to understand astrology before you can decide. It was put into my life really young, about when I could first read but no one else was interested or believed so it made me doubt it, too. I put it away for years until about 19. I started studying it deeper for years & was blown away by all the time I had wasted before. I even ran my own channel for a while a few years ago. Its actually this account but I don't make vids anymore.

“What is it that distinguishes the Vedic system of Astrology from what we in the West consider ‘normal’ Astrology? Why is Vedic Astrology considered superior to Western Astrology?” Although there are many differences between the two systems, this article will look at three major ones.
The first, most obvious, and possibly most confusing difference is that each system uses a different Zodiac. The Sidereal Zodiac is the actual, observable, ‘scientific’ sequence of ‘signs’ based on the fixed pattern of stars that we see from planet Earth. This is the zodiac that Vedic Astrology, the astrology of India, uses. Western Astrology uses the Tropical Zodiac which has the same sequence of signs, but instead of being based on the fixed, observable pattern of stars, the Tropical Zodiac is figured from the location of the Sun when it crosses the Vernal Equinox (around March 22), which is the midpoint of the extremes of the Sun’s apparent (as seen from the Earth) travel from North to South during the year. In other words, for the Western Astrologer, the Sun’s position on the ‘first day of Spring’ designates the beginning of the zodiac’s first sign, Aries.
Since all this stuff about signs in the Heavens is really just a human fabrication, why should it matter which system we use? It matters because what we are trying to do in Astrology is to have events here on Earth indexed to a dependable constant: the fixed pattern of the stars. Now we come to the important point of distinction: the Tropical Zodiac is not referenced to the permanent pattern in the Heavens! That point above us where the Sun is midway on its journey from solstice to solstice moves a tiny bit each year. It goes backwards by a bit less than 1 minute of arc every year, due to the slight wobble of the Earth on its axis. Although the two zodiacs coincided about 2000 years ago, today the Tropical Zodiac is approximately 24 degrees (nearly an entire sign!) out of phase with the actual, observable, positions of the stars.
Thus, because the Western Astrologers refuse to actually look up at the Heavens, their interpretation of the planetary positions relative to the backdrop of the stars has not been consistent. This becomes a problem if you are going to rely on centuries of past accumulation of observable data based on the signs for your analysis (and prediction) of events on Earth. Actually, Western Astrologers acknowledge this weakness in their system by putting much more emphasis on Aspects: the actual degree distance between Heavenly bodies, which can be measured without regard to the backdrop of the stars. Vedic Astrology, in contrast, has a very highly developed system of analysis that emphasizes the signs, their meanings, and their relationship to each other, the planets, and the houses.
The next important distinction between these two systems of astrology is that whereas Western Astrology (generally) regards the Sun and its position as the primary factor for interpretation, Vedic Astrology chooses the Rising Sign as the primary significator. Instead of saying that everyone born within a 30 day or so period shares the same characteristics by having the same ‘Sun Sign’, Vedic Astrology wants to know which group of stars was on the Eastern horizon at the moment you where born. The Rising Sign has been found to give a much more specific ‘snap shot’ of an individual than their Sun Sign. This may make Vedic Astrology less popular at parties since you will need to know the actual minute of birth of the person you are hitting on, and then have a computer with Astrology software handy in order to look it up. But it does have the advantage of referencing each House in the birth chart to a particular Sign, which is the basis of analysis in the Vedic System.
A third major distinction between “regular” astrology and the one from India is that Vedic has numerous techniques of determining the strength of any factor under consideration. Over the centuries, the mathematicians of India concocted numerous formulas for evaluating the relative power and weakness inherent in planets, signs, and houses depending on their positional relationship within a particular chart. This becomes especially useful in making predictions, since the Astrologer is not just being asked to identify what it going on in the Heavens, but also the likelihood that it will translate into something significant in a person’s life.
Western Astrology approaches the subject of prediction with some trepidation, due to the lack of such techniques of evaluation. About the only one it uses is the applying aspect vs. separating aspect, where the planets that are in a mathematical relationship with each other are either coming closer together (getting stronger in relationship) or moving apart (weaker).
In Vedic Astrology, there are mathematical formulas for everything, for all situations, for all elements within a chart. The Vedic astrologer has many tools for determining whether or not the mix of energy patterns indicated by planets amongst the stars is going to manifest or simply remain a dormant potential.
All of this makes Vedic Astrology much more complicated than Western Astrology. But that’s more like what life is like, isn’t it?

I just found this AND I agree with you...I was born under Sagittarius with a Virgo rising, however I am INFLUENCED by Ophiucous, and maybe it is by my personal choice, but I am influenced by Lillith, the phases of the moon, the ticks upon the American stock market...those do NOT change the core of my being...however, I accept my duality and the influence of Ophiucous, so I look at BOTH as well as Virgo for astrological reasons.

I didn’t know that one but I read an article where a guy studied the constellation stuff and I bet he knew all about that but calculated it and broke it down to 24 constellations that are valid but broke it down farther to 21 constellations that the planets actually pass through …there is Ophiuchus who cannot be denied and then there are 8 other energy signs unaccounted for that have influence .. it makes you question everything entirely means there are people with the energy being lead astray

I find astrology really interesting, yet I have to agree with how the social experiment mentioned that we all tend to just blindly believe everything that we think is supposed to be about us. I think it's really important to question everything including astrology. The one thing that makes me skeptical about astrology is that, from what I know, there doesn't seem to be any true science behind it. Now I believe that if we (somehow) conducted a global survey in which everyone would put down their birthdate, time, place as well as choosing a few words that they identify with in each aspect of life that the planets deal with in astrology, we could get somewhere in proving/disproving astrology. Obviously this would be a bit far fetched of a survey to conduct, but I really believe that we need conclusive data before we can truly be convinced that something is correct or incorrect.
I don't even bother to start a conversation about astrology or Tarot by saying "you don't have to believe in this, blahblah...", I just explain my thing and let people react how they react. Easier for me. Awesome video ^^

Reallyyy though, I just wanted to say I'm super exited for the ninth house video, but I understand why it might take a while (in top of just life in general). There has been a pretty large theme this last week, with women in particular, feeling really stressed, depressed, or chaotic. I don't know if it astrological influence or something else but, I just wanted to let you know you are loved& not alone in this tough time!
Clear path to purpose...exactly why I was lead to astrology. Finding natal chart being fundamental across all channels. How important it is that I discover my ascendant/rising. So down to day, month, hour, minute of birth and latitude and longitude. What I find is in that exact time our Sun was directly within the constellation Ophiuchus, the Sun travels through this star map for 18 days. Thus the Sun was in Ophiurius in the 12th house and Neptune was in Ophiuchus in the 1st house. It was not in Sagittarius or Scorpio.
We can decide and modify, as did Babylonians 3k years ago to assume the 12 as we know today. Mathematically it was neater, more convenient to leave out Ophiuchus. 4 seasons, 4 elements, 12 signs, 12 months, 12 hour rotations in our 24 hour clock, 12 inches a ruler, 12 in a dozen, 13th floors skipped in buildings, 13 segments on all turtle shells + 28 circumference segments which is the number days the moon cycles, 13 full moons a year...
Point I'm making is there are things to be questioned. Especially for those whom see the importance of astrology, however a specific and outnumbered few are dismissed within this "factual" unquestioned "perfect" 30 degree division. Keep in mind Jesus 1 + 12 disciples...i do not buy into coincidences. There is more here than has been taught, believed, established and it is folly to not question, seek, find...
Perhaps a select few are meant to go it alone, in ways, on their path...as Jesus KNEW he must as he KNEW the truth. I'm not proclaiming I know this and that to be fact or perfect...I'm just not going to dismiss the Suns actual path through our universe. Might want to look into that path and where "Aries" falls...hmmm, Sun does not cross over or near Aries...yet it crosses directly over / on Ophiuchus. It's all very intriguing, interesting. It's up to each to study, to question...as Romans 12:2 do not conform to the pattern(s) of this world but be transformed by the renewing of the mind...
I love and appreciate you for your videos. This video made my day especially because just yesterday I was on set discussing astrology with my other cast mates and everybody was pretty much into it (more so their sun signs) except this one 19 year old Cancer girl. Now, I'm a Cancer as well and it was so interesting to watch this crabby, blunt, high maintenance girl complain about how Astrology is a joke and shouldn't be taken serious. Of course I had to keep peace on set because we had to work with each other allllll day but I did keep pointing out to her when she was acting like such a Cancer. And she hated it but couldn't help but agree with what I was pointing out to her. She was cool until she disrespected Astrology! Haha. Anyways, just had to vent that and let you know it's so refreshing hearing others take on the actual research they've done. THANK YOU.
I'm jewish and as a kid i was told astrology was "evil and not real" but as i got older many of my more spiritual teachers and rabbis said astrology was 100% real and affected personality but that we should not rely on astrology to tell our future because G-d is the divine being and through prayer etc we have the ability to change our "luck"(constellation). There are actually different signs for the different months and they're the same as western astrology, pisces falls during the month of "adar" which is regarded as the luckiest month of the year. In western astrology pisces is also considered lucky....etc etc its interesting stuff. There is A LOT more talk of astrology in the jewish religion they ever delineate the characteristics of those born under different signs, "one born under the constellation of the sun will achieve eminence, and one born under Venus will become wealthy and immoral. One born under Mercury will be wise and have a retentive memory. One born under the Moon will suffer evil....".
Just typing this so you know that not all religions believe astrology is bad they just tell most followers that because they don't want them to rely solely on astrology and ignore the power of religion and prayer.

I love this video! I used to get offended when I saw negative shit about astrology until I realized....who cares! All I know is nothing has helped me understand myself and my purpose on this planet like astrology has. It's such an amazing tool that a lot of people are missing out on...their losses.
Ptolemy talked about how the zodiac draws from the solstices and equinoxes only and that astrology was originally tropical. Sidereal astrology came later. Not to say that Ophiuchus is necessarily meaningless, but it is a newer idea.
I don't necessarily think astrology is evil, I love astrology. I'm a leo sun with virgo moon and taurus rising, and 5 retrogrades. But I feel like people shun astrology without reading or thinking twice about it, and follow what others say. I would wonder why it could be bad.. and I feel like our purpose here on this life is to figure out who we are on our own, instead of reading the answers online. I feel like that makes life too easy, and takes away our purpose to grow on our own. When we're born, we grow through experiences and figure out what are our strengths and weaknesses are. But after reading astrology (I'm 21), I find it harder for me to communicate with people because I'm always thinking in my head "ok i'm a leo...how should i answer this" and I would try to change what I previously wanted to say, to something more like the qualities of a leo. And I can't be myself because I'm always asking myself "did you say that because of your virgo moon.." "did she ignore you because you're acting too much of a leo?" and it starts taking over my thoughts. And I can't get to know anybody like I normally would before astrology, now I always try to figure out their sign. Instead of loving the person for who they are, I feel like I'm only seeing them as a sign, instead of treating everybody equally. I feel like i said that wrong..I'm not very sure how to explain it. Well, for example. Alyssa Sharpe, when I first saw her face on youtube, I thought she was a beautiful woman, and she looked nice. I had that vibe from her eyes and smile. I felt like if i met her i could get along with her. But after learning astrology, I start judging people, instead of thinking what i thought of Alyssa Sharpe. And sometimes I would be judging them negatively, like "he's so angry...and in a rush..must be an aries" and I don't want to jump to conclusions if I don't know the person. I could be wrong and it's probably a Pisces on a bad day. I guess it's just me, I don't know if anybody else understands where I'm coming from? I would love to hear other peoples thoughts :) Maybe my virgo moon is making me over-think lmao

Hey have you ever seen Zeitgeist? It's on Netflix and it's really interesting because it basically talks about how the Egyptians used Astrology first and then created stories about the sun rising and falling everyday and then all these religions took those stories and made their own versions of them. So basically religion was created by Egyptians and people just copied the fuck outta their stories. I dunno it's really interesting because to me, Astrology is waaaay more logical and sensible than any religion and I think a lot of people put faith in it like it is a religion. I know it's mine, but I'm also not a religious person so I guess it's easier for me to believe science (and fate destiny karma too). If you haven't already you should check it out it's really cool. Alyssa, I have a burning question, and I was wondering if you'd please answer it in either a video or in the comments. Is astrology fatalistic? Like, when I look up my natal chart and see something things about how I am, if I wanted to, can I change those things about myself or does these things in my natal chart indicate that they're fixed and I can't change or improve who am and what I want? I'd really love to know, please. I get anxious about astrology because I often times think that what's written in my natal chart shows that these things are fixed and can't be broken out of or improved on.

Why the hell wouldn't God give us the universe as a tool? I have had the struggle of finding my understanding of God and I know what I believe him not to be thanks to the religion I grew up in. Now, I have a loving and divine image of who God could really be with Astrology in my life. I truly believe that God wants us to understand ourselves in that we might also understand him. Whoever tapped into astrology and made the observations surrounding themselves was probably as close as someone will get. This is why I keep watching :) you've really inspired me. All the best! Hey, I've watched this video a few time since it was posted. I love your videos. My mom has been teaching me astrology between 2005 (age eleven) until 2013-ish, and since then I've had to teach myself more because she no longer could. She hasn't gone to the astrology meetings from Aquarius Group Of Astrologers, of Kansas City because her work schedule changed. She stopped researching and practicing, and became limited in what she could tell me. And the group itself recently bit the dust. I am saying this to establish how deep my connection to astrology is, and because what I am about to say. For the past few years, I thought I should challenge my personal beliefs and hear other's arguments against them to keep myself honest. The Amazing Atheist is one of them. His earlier stuff is good, but his recent stuff isn't so much in my opinion. Scishow and Scishow Space are some others that are good. I listened to a lot of people both for and against the metaphysical. I recently came to a conclusion and wrote this on my fb page and will share it with you. (it's gonna be long, I'm not gonna lie):
"I saw the first episode of X-Files, season 2, "Little Green Men" last night. Scully meets with Mulder after making sure no one followed her, because they were booted out of the X-Files and they aren't supposed to talk to each other. They are trying to figure out how to bring the X-Files back, and they discuss a case currently being investigated about a signal that was received that was more powerful than the "WOW!" Signal. They discuss a man named George Hale who built a telescope, which was only possible through him seeing elves. Mulder has been questioning his own experiences and decides that just his memories are not good enough and that he needs solid evidence to hold onto, and that Scully taught him that. He suggests perhaps George Hale didn't really see any elves and that he was crazy, and Mulder compares himself to Hale, but in his case he's seen little green men instead of elves. He questions whether or not he just imagined his sister's abduction. Scully replies to Mulder: “Mulder, even if George Hale saw elves in his mind the telescope still got built. Don’t give up.”
I think it's important to have a healthy level of skepticism. I think everything should be questioned even if you hold it dear. You don't have to abandon it, it's just my opinion that you need to question it once in a while to keep yourself honest. And once in a while allow others to give constructive criticism to your view. If it's not constructive and they are just trying to make you feel awful, then just ignore them no matter what. But I also think it's important to believe in something fantastical if it helps you do great things. There's nothing wrong with believing in something if it feels right to you. If it feels right, it's right. If it feels wrong, it's wrong.
Maybe there is no afterlife, or maybe there is. No one can prove or disprove its existence. My college astronomy teacher told me: "science doesn't prove or disprove anything, it just gathers information for or against a testable hypothesis. The only thing that can be proven or dis-proven is math." We would not be able to make technological and scientific discoveries if no one questioned the validity of what was currently scientifically known or what we currently recognize as reality within the scientific community. We would not make these great advances if everyone thought to themselves that everything we have discovered defines the way things definitely are. Science is constantly being updated to fit new discoveries and if no one questioned the limits of sciences we wouldn't constantly make these new discoveries. Science is a good thing-- but if we stop questioning what it has defined for us, we stop updating it. That's actually the nature of science. We need people to be creative and try things no one else has yet, otherwise we stop making progress.
Whether or not there is an afterlife, if there are souls, if there is a god or many gods, is uncertain. We don't have very good evidence to support it. Or disprove it. But if believing in something great and unlikely helps you not only get through the day, but make you a better person and bring something great and productive to this planet then it is okay to believe in it. It's okay to believe in the elves as long as that telescope gets built, and who knows, perhaps George Hale was really seeing elves."
