I really liked doing this, I hope you all enjoyed it! I will say...I will change my thoughts on rapier...I place it at a low A...an A- seems better than a B. I also would put SnS at a solid CD. LET ME KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT EVERYTHING!
I respect your personal opinion, but if you want to do more. Try maybe in a more objective way. Rate each weapon in different categories like damage, burst potentiel, survivabilty etc etc. Instead of an overall score focus on each category and choose the best weapons for survivability etc. Then maybe make an average of all categorys and see where each weapon end up, just for fun 😀
Fire staff D tier, Sword and Shield - A tier easily, SnS have some CC, stuns, gap closers, perma block builds, light/medium attack animation cancelling into a skill that causing to even jump further and have more mobility because of this exploit
There are perma CC builds, but most of them can be easy to get out of or dodge. What I will say is maybe it could move to B, but this weapon is not really in the PVP war meta at all because it takes awhile to setup one target and lacks significant burst.
@@LemoniGames I think SnS + Great Axe is also an deadly combo, because if played well, they can easily catch up everyone, in a war maybe B tier then, but it depends, playing sns is either baiting people, kiting, perma blocking, perma cc but in the end its hard to counter them while playing with fire staff build Now look what fire staff have, like you said, it have nothing special, bow is better in any situation. The one mobility skill, Burnout - it feels like it takes a second to cast this skill, after casting character also is "freezed" for a sec or so, so its still poor mobility compared to melee guys and you need to spam dodges to get out. Light and heavy attacks slows you down and makes you easier target to focus from range projectiles. Also no stun with fire staff, no any other cc, no determination mostly while using fire staff, so people can easily interrupt you when you want to cast burnout and eating that damage What burnout should have is determination after cast, to have immovability to CC for a brief time, this 1 sec cast should be deleted to make it instant after use, not like a cast time skill and maybe an aoe stun or root after use, then I would put Fire Staff into a B tier maybe
@@MrKaniu47 The only thing with Fire Staff is that it can easily ME stack, and flamethrower is busted haha! But still a valid point. Many Fire Staff players don't use burnout. It is definitely overshadowed, but it has AoE and burst. SnS is great for CC and mobility. But you lock down one target, you have long cooldowns, then nothing else. GA or GS are great pairings, but the weapon itself is kinda meh.
Awesome vid. I've never played New World, but I really want to get into it once my work schedule clears a bit. Thanks for giving me some insight on what's in the meta right now, appreciate it!
As a healer I can relate to your comment about the life staff. It sux to be a healer on the current meta. Most people that complain about the healer being very OP never played healer on this meta. All the additions to the game (good additions) make up for a terrible gameplay experience with healers. Also, with this heartrune meta, with detonate and vines being very much used, the healers (especially single healing) have a terrible experience with stacking the heartune. So people will vine and detonate on you while you wont be able to have that ability on activation at the same speed. I would remove the casting time on lights embrace or maybe add grit to those abilities in order to make healing more effective. It is getting harder and harder to enjoy playing healers nowadays, with all those problems, and also with the insane damage those dex users do to us.
I feel like a list like this just really depends on the game mode. For example in arena FS and BB is top tier thru and thru. Flamethrower for example is just dumb broken in arena especially with entomb saving you when your getting ganked.
This is fair--I think PvP mostly focuses upon War in the sense of META since it is the only real competitive mode we have. With that being said, FS drops way down imo.
FS needs to be in D tier and I've been maining it since launch lol It needs light and heavy attack buffs to give you more ranged potential to compete with bows a little better and keep distance but still do a lot. I often feel like as fs ig even though both weapons are "ranged" you pretty much have to play 5 inches from the clumps to do anything which is why it's so bad in wars. Yes great at stat padding but no burst it's all just throw stuff watch big numbers and roll around. Melee weapons get sticking power and consistent damage output not relying on CDs, Ranged bows and muskets get high mobility and their light and heavies can hit harder than a fireball lmao
That is a valid opinion! It is definitely in a tough spot. I think the one saving grace it has is if you start to get ME rolling you can have some crazy damage, but it is 100% more difficult!
I run spear sns medium. And it works. The amount of hate messages I get in wars and opr about my build is nuts. I eat greatsword and bb players all day long. It's so under rated combo
@@LemoniGames why do people think that it offers so much team utility and disruption. I do perfectly fine in wars and get asked by others to join as merc to help them with it

I personally wouldn’t categorize the SNS as a D tier weapon. Any melee player knows how frustrating it is fighting against an almost instant stun, and ridiculous stagger hit boxes that are barely related to character spacing. It could just be that all the SNS players I play against have shitty ping and the desync is real, but I would personally put it in B tier and up.
Everyone need to keep in mind competence and latency when it comes to any weapons, all melee weapons are dead when experiencing latency, I keep hearing people crying about GS being OP but I dance around 90% of GS users as a healer or as a counter GS people need to “get gud” learn how to dodge, when to dodge, and when to block. GS=BB can be crazy OP with the right players but the majority of people using it aren’t using it well.
This is factual. The one thing I will say though is that even with dancing around, a GS user has ungodly gap closing and homing ability. They lunge farther than they should and you can charge up a heavy that will hit someone from a mile away. That mixed with its high damage, passive anti-heal, slows, roots, rends, guaranteed crits, etc. Make it kinda crazy. Especially if there are 2 GS players, or even 1 while being shot by dex, it is just GG.
The burst currently makes.healing very difficult not sure on the fix, i think the next heal weapon should balance against the LS maybe heal through melee or something like warhammer DK for example.
I think I actually agree with most everything. Obviously, these things are very dependant on what game mode you are talking about, but overall it is fairly representative. In that context, I think they need to look at IG/VG/GA (specifically) as the core mechanics of these weapon thrive too much in large scale groups where people are clumped (wars). Your commentary on the lifestaff really highlights a fundamental flaw with combat right now (damage - espcially burst - is WAY too high and healing has to be basically broken good to keep up). There are a lot of FPS games that have longer TTK than New World, which is just so janky. I think the biggest issue with Rapier being the only back bar options for healers has more to do with the armor weight system being garbage. If you could actually be a heavy armor healer you would see a lot more build diversity there. Probably the biggest issue with the S tier right now is the lack of counterplay to most of those weapons. And I know corelation isn't causation, but all those S-tier weapons exclusively run light armor...just saying.
I'm glad you agree! I think that the game is generally in a decent place in terms of actual balance (Other than GS and some aspects of Musket), but ME really exacerbates the power of the weapons. With the Lifestaff...exactly! There is no way that it can keep up. Don't get me wrong, if you pressure a healer and have someone chasing them, yes that makes sense that they can't heal. But the amount of CC and mobility some of these dive builds have, mixed with dex burst, and then detonates and such...it is near impossible at times. This also highlights the defense-heavy war meta. You have players who can play comfortably and pump out damage while sitting in the fort, and not enough can be done to push through in a lot of cases. This is a great point regarding armor weight. Right now, if you aren't light there are two issues. You either do not do enough damage or healing to keep up and be effective. Or...you are not mobile enough. It is crazy to me that in most cases as a healer in medium in heavy you will probably die more than light because you can't escape lol. I am really interested to see how the incoming balance patch mixes things up.
Okay I’m totally a agree with Lomoni but Every weapon is S+ if user is know what to do that being say musket = rat Great sword = cat BB is nasty if ur close to Bb see u in lobby

But if you look at something like sword and shield, yeah it can be great...but the margin of error and damage output make it far below something like a GS.
As a spear main I respectfully disagree with this tier list and I have vids 1 v Xing as proof (against respected pvpers as well, not noobs) I am happy that the general community thinks spear is dog tier though :D
SnS in PvP is a monmster why you out it so low? leaping strike, shield rush and shield bash and ytou kill everybody :D you can mix it with great sword, war hammer or spear with light armor.
Also this list makes it seem like the game is super balanced since most things are S or A lol. Tbh if I was in charge I would only really nerf musket. And then make tactical smart changes to the other weapons
Idk about that...I think there is a rather decent sense of balance in the game to be honest. I think ME is just nuts and really makes Dex crazy. GS needs some tuning along with musket.
@@LemoniGames I would drop the scaling on musket to being both 0.65 cap mortal empowerment to 10% max with only 1% more damage per stack. I would also make attunement melee weapons only.
