honda CRF250L CBR250 how to read your ECM fault codes
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 лют 2021
- no need to spend $$$ in a dealer to find out whats up with your bike, follow this easy how to and diagnose whats up with your honda.
each code consists of long and short flashes, under 10 are displayed as short. 10 and above are long.
in this video you can see 7 short and a gap, then 1 long with 2 short behind it.
so i have a fault 7 and 12.
i found a link to the full shop manual on thumper talk and the manual gives you the code numbers.
easy peasey!
Cheers Tom. I helped Nung sort an injector on a Husaberg , caused by bad fuel. Hansom job.
Cheers mate, i try to help out when i can.
@@theravedaddy any advise on a 2017 crf250l that been sitting for a while and wont start? replaced fuel. spark good, injector sprays, starts with engine start spray but dies immediately. any clues?
@@derekmau6295 if it sprays fuel but wont run it sounds like the ecu isnt being told the engine is rotating so id do a fault code check and check for a signal from the crank position sensor. That should be on the left side in with the alternator, i cant remember right now as im 10,000km away from my bike!
Nice video
Any chance of a video on the radiator fan
Mine doesn't seem to work on my 2014
Fuse, switch, wiring issue - HELP
Hi, any idea on code 23?
My bike, is running rich (black soot on spark plug) and wont idle also cutting out at junctions, also using a lot of fuel.
I’ve changed the o2 sensor and no difference (calculated 48mpg last night)
I’ve temporally fixed the idle by adjusting the screw…
Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated
Ive no idea what a 23 is because its not in the manual and i couldnt find it online. Ive had high idle issues caused by the grey temp sensor on the back of the cylinder, ive got through 2 of those now even tho they measure ok on an ohms test. Ive also had the ivac motor fail to set its self correctly even tho it cycles properly. Ive got a very sooty exhaust but the bike runs ok. Have you got a fuel controller? Ive had 1 of those go bad so i junked it and run without one. Its not easy to check the injector spray pattern but ive replaced that too when i had a black smoke issue. That code is a 12 but ignore 12s, every crf ive looked at has a 12 stored on it!
I'm checking DTCs on a 2019 model. The port where I need to jump seems to be in a different location than earlier models? Anyone have a clue where it might be? It's not at the front of the bike. There is a similar port near the rear of the bike?
Im not familiar with the 19s but the Cbrs have the plug under the seat. Is it hidden under the left side panel? It has to have easy access so it cant be too far away!
@@theravedaddy Yes, it was under the seat. The red connector is even marked "MIL" which solved that! Thanks for the video!
@@happymcmasters9903 happy it helped. I put tech videos up inbetween the weird ones... :)
I have a 2013 the fuel pump wont prime and no spark
You'll need to do the basics first, read the fault codes (if any) check the fuses and then go through it step by step with a multi meter. Its usually a poor ground or connector, especially on older bikes. You can find the workshop manual by google searches, it shows you the fault codes and test sequences.
Okay about that I got the bike with this issue the previous owner already bought a new harness, key switch and ECU still no fire wen I got it I changed the stator ,kill switch and coil but in the process of worrying about no spark I realized the fuel pump never kicked in
I read on a forum that these bikes different from regions I dnt kno if they previous owner got the right key switch to match the bike and how do I tell which region the bike came from Soo I can order the correct parts
Anyway I can send Yu a video of what the bike is doin
Good info, HD....
I pop up a few info vids here n there, when im not arseing about in the jungle. :)
What year is ur bike ?
2014 M
@@theravedaddy thanks alot man. Got it to blink! Do u have any idea what code 11 is! I cant find it
@@user-ck7si1os9u yup, search google for 'crf250l workshop manual' if you get directed to 'thumper talk' download the PDF of the manual. In section 4 you'll find a table of fault codes. 11:1 is ' faulty VS sensor'. Is your speedo working? Its the speed sensor on the top of the gearbox. Its a push fit once the locking bolt is removed but mine was very hard to lift out.
what part number of ECU are you using?
38770 K33 T53 is the one im using. The temprature overheat light doesnt come on when the ignition is switched on but apart from that it functions great.
@@theravedaddy so in short it is plug & play? I bought one from bikerzbits because I have a 286cc project and I'm worried if there's any trouble if I'll plug the said ECU. By the way, what's the power of that ECU?
@@magzvlog1949 yup, plugs right in and away you go. The only difference is no red overheat light on start up. My 286 was running so lean before the mod that it was overheating badly, the expansion tank would start hissing on extreme high climbs. No issues at all now and a huge difference in power right off idle. The price of these in thailand is half of a stand alone and a local experienced tuner advised me that theres no noticeable power difference between them on the road.
