Living life, 1 adventure at a time. Im mostly out in thailand where i do varied motoring based hobbies, modifying, restoration, destructing and thrashing.
The world 'situation' has halted many projects due to circumstances out of my control ie parts etc.
So most of my new content will be offroad biking around the excellant trails of north thailand with some odd bits thown in between.

MT09 GEAR INDICATOR FAULT- READ DISCRIPTION
Ive had a problem with the 1st gear indicator for a while now and recently 5th too. In this video ive taken the switch out and tried to diagnose the fault but im a bit wrong. I explained it in part 2 but i was slightly wrong again! The new part 2 explains the fault EXACTLY as more issues occured while i was stripping out the sillicon holding the wires in place*
*plot twist, it was ONLY the sillicon holding the wires in place, you'll see that in part 2.
#MT09GEARSELECTOR #GEARINDICATOR
Part 2 which explains EXACTLY WHAT THE FAULT IS is in this link but its getting ZERO views -thank you you tube, you really do get off on screwing up my channel.

hey there . I wanted ask you something about my bikes problem since i ve seen your videos you know a lot about this bike. Basicly i have 2013 crf250l on 50.5k kms about 500 kms ago bike got some weird idle behavior. Once it gets warm and idle drops to normal it skips a beat every 5-10 seconds sometimes it almost dies and recovers from there or it just dies(rarely). Other than that bike runs fine no issue with accelerating smooth on stable rev and higher rev band. This behavior sometimes get worse and affects my launch it cuts the power and stalls. i have video on my profile for better understanding if u can check out and help it ll be much appreciated
@@bora4705 ill take a look mate, they can have some odd moments sometimes. Im just going through mine as ive left them for 3 months, luckily all 3 started instantly but theyre covered in mold!
@@bora4705 i saw your bike stumbling, they do stutter on idle due to emmissions being very lean..... but not that bad! You'll need to read the fault codes first then do some simple resets which are in the online workshop pdf file. If thats no good you'll need to measure resistances on the temperature control switch below the throttle body and the O2 sensor on the left side of the head. Try that lot first.
@ thanks for the advice i ll check them in a free time and keep you updated
@@theravedaddy so i got code 12 at ecm i cleared it and then checked it to see if it comesback but it didnt. Other thing that i didnt mention, before this problem started i took out all the plastic panels for paint and used bike only seat and fuel tank on it for a while and the problem started in that time i dont know if it related with problem
@bora4705 a 12 seems to pop up on all bikes including mine so ignore that. Its usually a lean condition that causes stumbling, the mixture is controlled via the switchon the cylinder head under the throttle body and the O2 sensor. Youll need to do ohms tests on them and check for any air leaks but an air leak will normally cause the idle speed to raise as the ivac motor tries to compensate.
Thanks for the video. Think I might make a similar one as well. Glad I found you on here thank you for posting this 🙏 greatly appreciated I also shared it on a crf 250 group page should get u some views

OMG... an RD400 in Thailand 😮
Did you ever find out what was the problem? I don't see another video on this?
Very interesting. I'm getting an oil mist out out of my weep hole, which suggests I need a new oil seal, but looking at the arrangement, I guess I'll need to fit a new water pump mechanical seal also, as it looks like I'll likely damage it to get to the oil seal - what do you think? P.s. I'm also in Thailand 🙏
Yup, to get the gearbox seal out you have to knock out the water pump seal too. Luckily they're not expensive here so do them both at the same time. You reminded me ive got to take a seal set back to the uk as my crf back there is also misting oil on the frame tube.
