They make your light attack chains significantly faster & with styles like chronos and handslow you can make m1 strings absurdly fast, when you do it with chronos its like youre in focus mode. The way to do this is learn the end lag with the chain punches and when you land a hit you think “one” or “punch” and immediately press light again. You can get accustomed to timing to the point you dont have to think with it. Also it makes bullets m1 chain even faster so its not boring.
You can also use focus and m1 string right after a pd, which is inescapable, as well as using focus mode after hitting an m1 to continue the combo. Also, it’s ideal to use focus mode when your opponent has a weakened block, since the m1s will deal some devastating damage

I'm a long time chronos main, I have 23,480 rt rn, I have like about 5k knockdowns with chronos and I can say that, this guide is actually probably the best guide I've ever seen, I can confirm everything that u said, u forgot to mention 2 things, but it's really not a big dealz since u probably didn't even know about them, big thumbs up from me, good job on this one
