- 6-time world champion Mary Kom slammed the IOC’s Boxing Task Force for poor judging in her flyweight (51kg) pre-quarterfinal at the Tokyo Games. On July 29, Mary Kom lost to Colombia’s Ingrit Valencia in the women’s flyweight round of 16 bout. The boxing legend lost despite winning two of the three rounds.

the argentine judge was completely biased against mary Kom. if she lost, it was due to that judge. he gave her all 9s n gave the opponent all 10s. mary wom the last 2 rounds. how could she lose to someone who won just 1 round?

True I watched this match against khateav of Russia. British boxer didn't even tried punching for 3 full rounds and 4 out of 5 judges were in his favour. There are many matches like that. Boxing and other sports which are completely dependent on human judgment will always be biased. Who knows , to whom these judges talk with. Maybe it's all sorted out by Countries who want to win medals by secretly depositing money in judges offshore accounts in tax havens.

If only boxing was that easy. The boxers don't only train to stun the opponents but also avoid getting knocked out, you'll have to leave that kind of a opening for your opponent to knock you out and no one with that kind of a flaw in their game qualifies for the Olympic. There is also a chance of getting knocked out yourself if you're going too hard for the knockout punch because it leaves an opening in your defense. This sport is not only about offense, but defense as well.

US appealed for swimming or track relay and got reinstated. Indian boxing officials should have appealed as well for what it is worth. At least we try all options.

Current point scoring system piece of toilet paper, it makes no sense. First score board should display points. Score should be given for punch on target regardless which of judge pressed the button.
