I think Thorn Pelagos 39 can join the list of the best Ali classics. Titanium, high beat, tool free bracelet links, comfortable with great legibility. And on sale for less than 150 EUR. I usually dislike small and light watches, but this was so well made and proportional that it became my favourite daily.
Yes, I bought the Titanium SHY-036 with blue dial/bezel, earlier in the year. My wife liked it, so I gave it to her. The 39mm was just a bit on the small side for my 8 in wrist. During 11.11, I went for the slightly larger THORN SHY-037, at 40.5mm. A no date "sub" in Titanium case/bracelet, with 300m rating, He escapement, and slightly domed sapphire. For under US$138, I could not pass it up.
A bunch of bangers here! Those Seestern's looks awesome but so does the Addiesdive. Aesop has made a great dial on that watch! The year is virtually over! Thanks for sharing Jason!
I have both the Seestern S435 and the S446 for the better part of 2024. Terrific purchases...no regrets. The S435 in S.S. with blue dial/bezel. The S446 in S.S. with black dial and red GMT hand.
@@mutawi3i It is but its also relative. 200€ is a lot of money for say for example a meal (Check out the Palace Lounge at The Rubens at The Palace in Westminster or The Ritz London in Mayfair and see what they charge for things.) while at the same time not being a lot for buying a car. A friend of mine bought a beat up ex mil Land Rover Defender for 200 pounds. I guess the point that I am trying to make is that when you spend that 200 Euros on a watch you can expect something with a solid track record that is well made and reliable and has a good reputation while not being a cookie cutter diver.
It'd be a shame not to have one for each holiday right? Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day...I think that fair haha!
12:20 I can attest that the Seagull ST2108 movement in the Sugess Moonphase Master watches are indeed a true 29.5 day moonphase function. :) I own the more classic version of this watch, same movement. It is also a 28,800 beater too.
Great selection! Watchdives is doing great stuff, love the new logo. Maybe they should change the name... We've had some great branding recently : Baltany, Militado, Boderry, Hruodland, etc. and some terrible ones : Mystery Code, Welly Merck, Berny, Tandorio, Rdunae, etc.
SD for 40 is crazy, it amazed me how they managed to sell for 60 now 40, insane, i love the case shape and the lume is fantastic, definitely a great mod base....MCode, i just cant, they need a logo for sure....The AD i do like but not a fan of the font, but again seriously cracking value....Aesop, I've never had ine in hand but i know i should....i like that WD has gone with a logo, im going to have a proper look at there website now....a fantastic list all round my friend....🏴⌚🏴⌚
@briancolyer8483 the diver logo they have definitely wouldn't work. I think they'd have to go back to the drawing board and think of something completely new, maybe like WM have, an AD logo maybe
I like that Sugess with the pointer date! Very cool. Haven’t seen that one before. I got the $40 addiesdive with the light green dial (that EVERYONE is talking about) in the 11-11 sale and it’s a good looking watch but that bracelet feels like a cheap tin medieval hair pulling torture device. I can’t handle it. I guess I’ll have to swap to a leather band, but it’s not going to look as nice. Thanks for the list!
Everyone including myself haha! I think it'd definitely look solid on a leather band. The issue with that type of bracelet is it's always going to be the first thing they cheap out on.
no one ever mentions the Cadisen version of the Breitling Top Time Deus Ex Machina! Its scalloped bead blasted case sides with polished top and bottom accents that adds more drama and that swan neck seagull plus square chrono pushers to me make it the best of the lot. anyway.
The Steeldive SD1970 comes on a bracelet, and it's not a bad one, but it looks weird on a bracelet, and I think the original came on a strap. I believe the look they were going for was like a flat pebble strapped to your wrist, so it looks way better on a strap. I have mine on a black seatbelt-style single-pass NATO, with the thick section flat across the bottom of my wrist. It's nice in hot weather because I can wear it tight enough for it to stay put without it getting clammy or sticking to my wrist.
Hey do you have any recommendations for automatic watches with red dial. Secondly, are there any dress watches you recommend around the 70 pounds mark?
Thorn make a lovely little dress piece around that price. Red dials, I'd be looking at San Martin, they have a few that have a bit of something about them
I picked up a Pagani Design 1701 (speedmaster moonwatch) this time last year. An insane watch for the money.Would be tempted by the Daytona but the Steeldive Captain Willard at that price could be a winner!
There are some lovely watches here but there are too many sales and too many choices. I just bought five watches in the 11.11 sale (25 watches still on my list) not buying new ones on Black Friday - that will be for gifts for others on Amazon. I need to know the best watches at the right time in the right sale.
I had 45 watches before 11.11...an additional 4 were ordered at that time, with 2 of the 4 already received: THORN SHY037 (40.5mm no date Ti SUB with Ti bracelet, NH35). Baltany S206070 Solar Military Chronograph with Calendar (Epson VS71 Solar Movement) ------------------------------------ A Sugess ST019 (Model S387) mechanical pilot Chrono (Orange, black, creme dial with orange strap) and a Tandorio SKX no logo with white mother-of-pearl dial; both should be arriving soon. The later watch I will mod for fun. I REALLY do not need another watch...but I do enjoy collecting and daily wearing these watches. My dad left me another 70 watches when he passed, but those I keep with mom stateside and I rotate use of them with my nephew and brother-in-law. Some I have also gifted to my nephew, dad's only grandson. I guess we've all become watch enthusiasts in the process.
@JasonTheWatchGuy 5 other UA-camrs confirmed it, during the 11.11 sale I ordered the WD 1960s black and yellow 🟡 dial . 46€ no brainier with a jubilee bracelet
Your kitchen confuses me, why are there only tiles that go up where the oven is? It would drive me crazy, I'd want the entire thing tiled :P edit: I just realised, you're in the UK so you likely have a brick wall not plasterboard / drywall there :D
@@JasonTheWatchGuy Totally off topic I know. I'm sure there's a line of tiles that runs along the bottom. Otherwise crap goes all over the wall in a kitchen lol
I just can't take the addiesdive seriously. Looks so classy apart from that awful font across the dial. They really need a decent logo. As for Mysterious Code.....less said the better
I just dont think their logo would suit this watch, the diver and tools crossed over. I know where you're coming from but I just don't see the solution
@JasonTheWatchGuy no their logo would not work. Would be WAY worse (I don't mind it on dive watches). They need a new / Second logo for this type of watch. Like WatchDives and Welly Merck have done.

Even better! I should have know Seagull have that capability as I've just received one of their moonphases.
Great balance between new and classic Ali hits. Best regards

At least Welly Merck have seen the issue and updated to WM. Not perfect but certainly better!
Love my Addiessive... absolutely beautiful. The bracelet isnt great, but certainly fine for the price. This will be getting lots of wrist time.
I'd consider it on a leather band, think the dress aesthetic would work with it
I just got the Hruodland F025 and it's a beauty! Defo worth a look.
From what I've seen, Hroudland are absolutely quality! Hope you wear it in good health
@@JasonTheWatchGuy Cheers mate!
Yeah I got that in the 11.11 sale too, arrived today and on my wrist now ... Love it when the light hits that dial.
Fantastic job as always, Jason. Certainly a great selection which will not break the bank. Thank you my friend.

I think a rubber band would be my choice in fairness! Just works for a diver and most Seiko divers
