That situation was disgraceful. I like Lewis but he and everyone else who attacked Golota for that should have seen the bigger picture. Do they really think a man who fights for a living, a seasoned warrior like Golota would have left the ring out of fear? Without even contemplating what might have been happening, the commentators and everyone else branded Golota a 'coward' (not that they would ever enter a ring themselves) I felt sickened when some fans even started throwing things at the man. Golota knew he had a life-changing injury, he knew leaving that ring would make him alone, he knew it but he made the right decision. Those fans were inhumane scumbags who cared more about their tickets than a man's life. I love boxing but this side to it- I hate.
Im with you on that one man... These fans want blood. Like yourself, I have an appreciation for 'hit and not get hit' style, or fighting smart. That's why I love watching the Hopkins the Wards and the Mayweathers. High boxing IQ and they set examples stating it's not cool to take punishment. There really is nothing cool about taking punishment, you aren't just losing a game or a match, you're losing braincells and ultimately your life. Nobody wants to walk around not being able to finish a sentence without stuttering or not remembering their grandchildren. Fans should understand this, boxing makes me sick sometimes.
Alessio Roma- Well said! I too often have a love-hate relationship with this sport. Some fans can't seem to differentiate between boxing and gladiatorial games.
Young, hungry Tyson was a great and devastating fighter. But he also had a close fight with a one-handed Tony Tucker back then. He also was frustrated and couldn't get Bonecrusher Smith out of there in a snooze fest. He struggled a bit with Tillis and Green. Not one of those guys was a great fighter, yet somehow you think he was unbeatable? He had only one way of fighting and he was under 6' tall with short arms. He was very beatable, even as good as he was.
@@joeblough261Every fighter struggles, especially since they are fighting way more experienced fighters early in their career. Like Mike Tyson said, no one is unbeatable or unstoppable. Keep in mind that Tyson was finishing being a teenager or barely an adult and obviously became champion really fast in his career when he fought them. He partied heavily and trained less and even said it himself that he underestimated Tucker. The likes of Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, or Roy Jones Jr even said that Mike Tyson had the most potential to become not only the best heavyweight of his era, also the best overall p4p fighter of the 90’s.
@@joeblough261 Well…when Bonecrusher Smith felt Mike power he was holding mike the whole fight, wasn’t able to give a single good punch except one big right hand and Mike was unfazed…holding for his dear life,Mike didn’t struggle smith was just able to survive 12 rounds with him by holding and running Didn’t struggle either with Tucker,it was a good fight and a display of the greats skills of both going to the decision,Tucker touched mike with a good uppercut in the first round but not a menace,Tyson outjabbed him the whole fight and wobbled him many times,Tucker had a good chin and he was well trained for this fight Tyson also trained like 3 weeks prior to the fight and was very psychotic (thanks to rooney he was still focused) Struggled with Tillis, did you see the fight ? Tyson always initiated the offense first, display of insane headmovements and footwork, wobbled him like ten times and put him down,Tillis was in a top shape and Tyson was also injuried this fight,he just didn’t knock him out like the 3 others the main thing when y’all say tyson struggled it just mean that he didn’t knock them out like he used to do,but still won pretty convincingly and he was still learning at the time just look at the ribalta fight after the tillis fight,Tyson just became better and was improving very fast, the Tillis fight gave him some experience. He can beat any HW ATG under Rooney between 86 and 88 IMO
This was when Lewis understood that Tyson was finished and that he could win against him. Because we ALL know Lewis would have been knocked out 15 years earlier.
+Norwegian733 True, I was like 11 when I watched the Lewis/Tyson fight, back then I didn't really have a concept of the ages or differences or the differences in the reach mattering, things out of the ring affecting fighters, I just expected Tyson to be badass and knock anybody out. Was fucked up to see Tyson bloody and KO'd lol. At least I kick Lennox ass with Tyson on fight night though
Norwegian733 Exactly my friend he avoids him until he's doing drugs has NO interest IN fighting n was just washed up,his mojo was gone ,he no longer cared he just done it for the money cos he was in debt,he just wanted the money.
Norwegian733 FALSE, when Lennox Lewis who is Older than Mike Tyson , said to Mike in his 20's, when are you going to fight me? Mike gave Lennox the Back of Avoidance. Lennox Lewis never ran or hid from Mike Tyson the 🦁; Lennox sought out and hunted Mike Tyson. Lewis destroyed Evander Holyfield twice convincingly and Destroyed Andrew golota much more faster than Tyson, Lennox destroyed Razor Ruddock with ease, whereas Mike Tyson struggled with Razor Ruddick in two fights. Ex heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield said that Lennox Lewis was his his most difficult opponent that he ever fought, an opponent, Evander Holyfield never said that about Mike Tyson. The hardest hitting man in boxing at least in the top two George Foreman said that if Lennox Lewis was during his time, Lennox would have given Muhammad Ali and many of the Top heavyweights of their time hell, Roy Jones said that Lennox Lewis is one of the greatest Heavyweight Fighters that he's ever seen. Please redo the math.
Lewis was the daddy and Tyson knew it. That bitch Tyson avoided Lewis like the plague for several years. Just like he ducked Foreman and Tua. Basically if you weren't washed up or you weren't a bum, Tyson wouldn't fight you. He only fought Holyfeild because Holyfeild was washed up at 35 years old coming back from losses and bad performances and Tyson still got smoked by an old Holyfeild. He even got smoked by James Douglas in a classic 'when cherry picking goes wrong' moment. I mean c'mon... James Douglas? really? and this was a young prime pre-prison 23 year old tyson that got destroyed by douglas. Tyson was stripped of his wbc belt in 96 because when it came time to fight the number one mandatory challenger for the belt 'lennox lewis' Tyson said heeeeeelllll noooo! like the bitch he was, he also paid Lewis millions in step-a-side money, basically like a prison bitch, paying lewis not to kick his ass.
Finding the truth behind Golota quitting responsibly; really makes you wonder on the impacts of Razor Ruddock lasting 7 rounds against Tyson, and going the distance in his 2nd fight with Tyson.
I totally agree that Golota did the right thing. Above all else...SAVE YOURSELF. Im an RN and I saw major symptoms of a major concussion. When he fought Tyson at the Michigan Palace of Auburn Hills he was injured BADLY. Not just the lacerations. His speech and blinking was indicative of a concussion. He got hit REALLY HARD the first round and he was feeling the effect on his brain. He KNEW he was really injured and was apprehensive to go on bcz he was secretly protecting his well-being. Im glad he didnt keep fighting bcz he might have died. He did the right thing. Golota is a good fighter and protected himself irregardless of the cowardice imposed by others. He saved himself. GOOD JOB GOLOTA.🥊😉👍
Gołota was headbutted in quite a cheeky way during that fight. The headbutt went straight after a punch so it was missed by a referee. He (Gołota) didn't say anything during the fight. In normal circumstances Tyson should have been disqualified. It was a dirty fight, unfortunately. After the match, it came out Gołota suffered several serious injuries including a fracture and a herniated disc. It's a history now.
Boxing is a very tough sport- but it has to be a sport. If fans, pundits, trainers and boxing people in general sanction it to be about 'fight even if you might die' then basically we have a modern version of gladiatorial games
@@HOODCHRYMER The Tyson who struggled vs poor versions of Lewis in Mitch Green and Bone crusher. Hell, way past it Pinklon Thomas was rated the #1 contender in Tyson's Prime. Tyson fought poor and past it fighters in a transitional period between two golden ages. We are in a transitional period once again hence Tyson coming back and testing the water. There is only Fury and possibly AJ stopping Mike or any other past great being champ in this era.
I love the little guys who"bring it"(Joe Frazie, Tyson), but I reckon that, on his best day, Lewis could PROBABLY beat any heavy in history on their "best day".
lewis beated the lot , won from every oponent he ever faced , did not duck anybody , always said 'i dont mind who i am gonna fight next ' , and acted upon that . he IS what boxing needed . and we mis him !!!! according to george foreman he might be the greatest of all time . amen
Everyone has the fight their own fights. No one else can speak for Golota or make health related decisions for him. A good fighter is not just standing foolishly in the way of danger to impress others, it's knowing when to accept defeat.
Atleast Tyson tried to go out with a bang by fighting Lewis eventually (besides good money). Lewis was a scared chicken when asked for a rematch with klitschko. And now he keeps on justifying that he would have won if the fight went on....
Relatable to who? I don't hate Mike Tyson and I think he has come a long way as a person don't get me wrong, but call a spade a spade the guy was an absolute viper at times with serious demons. I think even he would admit that. Pretty sure he had bipolar disorder. Whereas Lennox was a gentleman outside the ring.
Exactly! I saw the exact same thing, except than the last time Lennox went to sit down, he had no legs left (fatigue). We'll never know what would have happened if the fight went on. However, it's very true that Lewis was getting more and more to Vitali. ;)
just watched it and now im telling you that mike tyson is great. i've seen & watched all 58 fights carefully and its obvious how skillful he was. he wanted a rematch and he said that straight after the lost. watch tyson vs berbick & then tell me how & why hes overrated.
Lewis is the most underrated boxer of all time. I love it that Tyson supporters are saying he avoided Tyson in his prime, when in fact it was Tyson that avoided him lol.
Lewis, on the other hand, was in it for the long haul. He went back to the Olympics and won Gold and had a steady rise to the title and managed to stay under the radar. Although, I do think there was a slight advantage with Lewis: he had his mother by his side throughout and stayed relatively under the radar for a long time, while Tyson seemed to become a stressed out paranoid as the years went on and D'Amato and Jacobs were out...which happens given what he was going through at his age.
He beat many fighters considered very good. Holmes and Spinks are great fighters, but he's beaten a lot of other good fighters as well: he deserves a lot of credit for the two Ruddock fights. He's no coward but he let the frustration get to him easier that night because he knew he was up against someone good with a lot of skill and heart. Holyfield is the undisputed champion of heart, he has TOO much, he'll probably die in the ring because he will never give up his dream.
I've heard a lot of people claim Lewis was ducked by Tyson in 1996.Citing the $4 mill step-aside fee Lewis was paid to allow Tyson to go ahead with a planned match with Seldon instead of defendin his WBC title against Lewis. What is less discussed is that Lewis turned down 13.5 mill guarantee offer to fight Tyson before accepting the $4 million. This was before Lewis faced Ray Mercer. The Mercer fight did not improve Lewis value or perceived chances against Tyson at that time one iota.
Tyson admitted after his fight with Lewis that he cannot beat him for being so skilled and accurate and never got interested in a rematch. How can a G.O.A.T say these things? 😁😁 😁
Mike is my all time favorite fighter and it pains me to say this but i just can't see him ever beating Lewis even in his prime, i used to think he would but the more i study lewis the more i doubt mike could of taken him. Mike never fought a 6ft5 250lb power puncher who was also a great technical boxer with an elite defense in his prime.. he simply didn't! I think Lewis would of taken him out with jabs, inside clinches, right hands and uppercuts, Tyson was always vulnerable to uppercuts from start to finish of his career and lewis had the meanest uppercut in the game.
Adrian you obviously don't know anything about boxing. Mike Tyson's jaw was solid as it gets. He never got dropped from one punch like Lewis did twice. Tyson never lost until late in the fight and against hall of famers. You talked about Tyson losing 6 times, but you don't know what you're talking about. He lost 1 against Douglas, but no one on the planet thinks Douglas was better. He lost 2 to Hollyfield, 1 being a KO the other a DQ, He lost 1 fight to Lewis, after he was already well past his prime and above +50 pro heavyweight fights. The other two loses were when he was an old man who was only fighting for money. So, he really only ran into 2 fighters that he couldn't beat: Hollyfield and Lewis. I don't count Lewis because as I said, Tyson was 36 years old and already at like over 50 pro heavyweight fights. The truth is, Hollyfield is the guy that Tyson couldn't beat: and Hollyfield (as well as Lewis) is a hall of famer, one of the best to ever live. You clearly know nothing about boxing...
Golota was headbutt really bad. It fractured his cheekbone, made his whole arm numb, and slipped a disc in his neck. Ref never said anything about the headbutt. If a boxer is hit with a low blow, they’re given as much time they need to recover, if they don’t recover they stop the fight with no ridicule. Goleta’s doctor said it was good he quit, could’ve been hurt really bad.
had nothing left. A lot of credit should be given to Klit for giving Lewis one of his hardest fights and standing up to his punches though, but consider this: Vitali had been in training for a year prior to meeting Lewis, anticipating a potential bout with the champion; Lennox, after prepping for the smaller and faster Jirk Johnson, had just 2 weeks to change his training and add weight for the much bigger Vitali. Despite this, Lewis at his worst still beat Klitschko at his best.
Don't disrespect the youngest heavyweight champion of all time. Tyson was undisputed world heavyweight champion for 3 years. He saved boxing in the 1980s, when interest in the sport was dying. As a 215 pound heavyweight, he threw 4 punches per second. He has the record for the most round 1 KOs. The latter part of his career was tumultuous as it was tragic, but at least he was honest with himself about his feelings about the sport. That said, if Lewis ever faced a pre-1990 Tyson it's KO as usual.
Lennox is a top-notch dispatcher of mere mortals Tyson is one of Mike Vick's pitbulls Lewis is a dominant champion with class second to none Tyson is a once-great has-been overhyped for 80% of his career Lewis is a complete boxing package, size, strength, reach, skill, technique, patience Tyson was a fast, powerful, ferocious animal Tyson is a dog Lewis is a lion
i only watched this vidio because it had tysons name on it i totaly 4got all about lenex luwis and in a couple of more years ppl will 4get he ever exested but iron mike on the other hand will live 4ever , lenix can talk all he wants 2 but hell never be rememberd as one of the greats
Lewis was ducking fights and got in there with Hassim Rhman who knocked him out and Oliver McCall knocked his ass out cold. Then after he barely survived and won in his fight with Vital klitschko. He promised a rematch to boxing fans and toklitschko. Never happened Lewis avoided it and retired, he knew klitschko would beat his ass. He fought a Mike Tyson when Tyson was 10-12 years past his prime, Prime Tyson would have destroyed Lennox Glass jaw Lewis. He also fought an Old Evander Holyfield. Mike Tyson never ducked a fight he was not afraid to face anyone now all champions try to avoid each other and fight 1 time a year. 1960's threw the 1980's fought 3 to 4 times a year, I would love to see a championship tournament of all the guys that hold Heavyweight championship belts to get to one true champion. Deontay Wilder looks like he is the future king if the other champions will fight him.P.S. Lewis was a champion in the Era where there were not any top quality heavyweights.
+9th Marquess Lewis avoided Tyson for years until he was burnt out n addicted to drugs and alcohol, I don't know we're your sources r coming from but I have journalists as friends and associates, Fact, lewis sat down with his legal team and Don king to try make an effort for lewis, tyson fight, lewis pulled out and as a result he had to pay so called hush money n when it came out lewis tried to twist the story n say tyson was afraid to fight lewis in 96 when he was 29, yeah sure, he said I'll wait for another 6yrs to fight lewis doesn't make sense, Tyson is afraid of nobody,
Tyson avoided Lewis for 7 years, facts. Lewis beat all the top names in the 90's, you name them, lewis beat them, Klitscko/morrison/Tua/Briggs/Grant/Mason, all in and around their prime, they had a combined record of 210 wins with 200 kos only 4 losses between them, lewis beat em all. He also beat the likes of holyfeild/mercer/tyson/bruno/tucker/rudduck/golota/ect ect, the only top name he didn't fight was riddick bowe and that's bowes fault for avoiding lewis. Lewis was number one heavyweight in the 90's, proved it time and time again. Tyson was the laughing stock of the 90's, got beat by james douglas lol and also got smoked by a 35 year old past prime holyfeild. also lewis raped him like a bitch
Come on, anyone that steps in the ring is not a coward. Would you get in the ring with Tyson, even now??? I know I wouldnt. I think calling Lewis a coward is a bit of a stretch.
@dunlap15 Douglas was not a 'fluke'. Douglas trained with dedication and fought with belief. Tyson showed up woefully out of shape, was completely unprepared and paid the price.
Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe.. then a plethora of very good heavyweights like Mercer Briggs Golota Ruddock McCall and lads like Bonecrusher Smith and Witherspoon from the late eighties then the Klitchkos in the early noughties. Enjoy this golden period for heavyweights. Who was the best of them? That's debatable, but none of the fighters I've mentioned are bums. On their day they could beat anyone. I respect the fights they gave us, the ones we crave now. IMO the top 4 read as above are mine!
Lewis is still a name that can draw. He's got a great record... two losses only and both were avenged. But there's a major difference between being good and being entertaining. I'd pay way more to see Tyson spar than Lewis fight. People would rather still see Tyson lose than Lewis win.
Haye reminds me a lot of Lewis: exciting, polite and willing to take on the tough challenges from day one. Let's not forget, Lewis was fighting world class boxers like Gary Mason, Tyrell Biggs and Razor Ruddock very early into his career.
@Dar41683, Tyson lost to Douglas when he was 23 years old. That's when it was all over. If you want to mention Ali. Then why not mention George Foreman who said Lewis was the greatest boxer of all time, let alone his era. We can all quote people. Lewis had a career from his 20s to 38 years of age. Whereas Tyson ruled for just 3 years, went to prison, came back and started biting holyfields ears because he was losing. Tyson was not passed it at 23, he was found out.

The one fight I hated that Lewis lost was to that guy nicknamed "Rockman" in 2001. I'm American, but wanted Lewis to beat him. Most of the crowd in that fight were making out to be USA vs UK. I didn't see it that way.
I wasn't 'comparing' anything. I was suggesting the ability to garner headlines isn't necessarily a good thing. And I dare say I know a good deal more about boxing than you if you think Lewis "ducked" Tyson. He did no such thing.
@rdsnuke Oh and Lennox either sues for his belts or takes belts from fighters rather than being patient and fighting them. (i.e., Bowe, Tyson) He finally got his chance at Tyson and yes won, even though Tyson wasn't the same man he used to be. I only wish it had been about 10 years prior. Woudla been KO by Tyson.
True, but it was after prison. Tyson didn't want anything to do with Lewis after prison. He wasn't the same after Spinks, after he left Rooney, let alone when he rusted away in prison. Tyson may act crazy, but he isn't stupid. He needed to make money and Lewis would always be there down the road if he needed him. He actually stood a better chance to win with the version that fought Bruno in the second meeting, but even then, it would have still been a punchers chance.
man when Muhammad Ali and Tyson were boxing people in china wanted to see their fight....most famous boxer's all over world are Ali and Tyson nobody else..
Tyson in my eyes and in a lot of peoples was heavyweight boxing, imagine if Cus was around to longer to protect him I think Tyson would have been unbeatable.just a shame he attracted some bad people around him, fucking sharks.Glad he's in a much better place these days.
Check the facts people!!! Tyson and Lewis spired when they were kids. It's obvious that both fighters became professionals around the same time. Where was Lewis at when Tyson was knocking chumps out for the first 5 years of his career. Why did'nt they fight before he went to jail. Mike in his prime used head movement, went to the body, and was a patient fighter who did'nt waste his punches. Mike would've exposed him in his prime. Too much time in jail away from boxing killed him.
I'm a huge Tyson fan....but had he and Big George fought in, say, 1990 or so...I don't know about that one. Some people laugh at that, but most boxing experts (stuff I've read, etc) say that Foreman would have beaten Tyson. Keep in mind that George is freakishly powerful, and Tyson's "in your face" style is perfect to absorb a few of George's bombs. It would be a great fight, but my money is on George. Holyfield said a foreman jab feels like getting hit in the face with a telephone pole.
I think multiple division champs get too much credit. Look at Toney and all the low weights he won at, the guy is a natural heavyweight but slimmed down to fight smaller guys instead of guys his own size. You are talking about going up by 7 pounds between divisions and look at the difference in weights that happens in heavyweight fights, sometimes it might be 30 pounds. Its just a way to pick easy opposition by changing division.
lewis should have understand that tyson was arrested 38 times when he wasy only 13 years tyson he had a rough life and his guardian died when he was still young in his carrer whe he died tyson when off and started the mad tyson persona
most people lost to tyson before they even stepped in the ring, he was a bully, but who did he really beat? can we say the like of Pinklon Thomas were great fighters? And Holyfield owned him in each fight. Tyson knew Holyfield wasn't scared of him and wasn't up for it with the results we saw.
totally true. i talked to bobby stewart as he lives close to me & he said that if tyson was constantly in shape mentally, physically & spiritually there's no way anyone on earth could beat him.
I think you're forgetting the fact that the Tyson "snoop" is talking about is the Mike Tyson from the 80's, not the Mike Tyson of the 90's. Tyson was the youngest HW champ, coming from the Olympics, who next to Michael Jordan was the new face of sports. He was a hero back in his Cus D'amato days, before he was taken over by promoters and criminals and the death of his father figure, D'amato.
@Dar41683. Yeah Tyson was the youngest to win the Championship belt. But it's like if he was fighting now in the heavyweight division. In the late eighties, the division was WEAK. Then came along Bowe, Holyfield, and Lewis. But by then Tyson had already lost the title by a bum. Tyson was just a hype machine. He beat bums. He along with Don King paid Lewis $4 million and his belt not to fight in '96. A GOAT does not give up their belt. A GOAT avenges at least ONE defeat.
No Lewis claim to greatness is that he BEAT everyone in his era. EVERYONE. Lewis is a 3x World Champion, only Holyfield and Ali did that. Type in "Lennox Lewis Greatest of His Era". Educational to ppl like you.
well lenix is a great man for boxing but, mike tyson definitly deserves credit for being a verty acomplished and tough fighter.. he may be and when he fought lewis he was too far out of his prime to compete with lewis but hey thats like saying ali fighting lennix right now.. different time frame
@rdsnuke Tyson lost his desire to fight I think before he even went to prison you see he didn't train vigorously he just wanted money he wasted away his talent. If tyson trains i dont' see any of those boxers beating him. He went 8 rounds with Lennox and he was clearly out of shape and out of form. Ali is the greatest of all time period 2 legit losses vs Norton and Joe. The caliber of boxers was way better then the era or Lennox
That punch with what Tyson send Golota to the floor was really lucky. Lucky because if not that punch he clearly would lose 2 first rounds. Andrew trainers were just idiots making this fight. Golota was after car accident and for the rest of his carrer couldn't use one hand propely (but he got 2 Titles). Problems with carrer of Golota is that he was very sick and he haven't good doctors for revive his hand or revive his chin (he couldnt take a lot of hard punches because disc to the brain went sh it ) A lot of fans of boxing dont know that facts. In 90's he was a beast, a lot of top fighters didnt want to fight with him.
+MrFacepalmStudio And in the fact the only one who fought with Golota in full health was Riddick Bowe. Golota vs Lennox was 1 year after Golota vs Bowe second fight. Before that Andrew didnt fight "to be in shape". Lewis punched him in back of head, Golota informed judge, judge stopped the fight. Bowe punched Golota in back of the head so Golota punched him in his balls.
+MrFacepalmStudio hhhhhhhhhhhh, first of all lewis beat knock the shit out of Gallota before he gets frustrated and hitting peoples balls. as for mike tyson, in the 90s is the Golden time of tyson. Gallota is no where next to tyson or lewis, stop giving fancy facts here.
kahil mohamed I wrote exaclly all the same as you, but when Lewis won againts Golota he became number one. Its fact and its true. Prime Golota clears all nowdays Heavyeights. To confirm this lets back to middle 2000s, old past prime Golota without left jab he nearly defeated all champions. He was after car accident where he could lose his arm. Lets back to 90s. Ray Mercer ducked Golota, so Golota was going to fight Lewis. After 2 wars with Bowe he had too long pause. I heard about doctor giving Golota lidocaine, doctor payed money for this but its history. Golota after 2xBowe was most dangerous man in Division. If he was better in 90s then Holyfield, Foreman, Holmes, Morrison, Tucker, Mercer, Witherspoon, Norris then how Lewis vs Golota wasn't for being number 1? Golota was the only white guy in top tier and by his position he oppened the doors for another guys from East.
Yes, but Tyson threw away his career and ability after Spinks. He went from being a "great" talent and loved by many to falling off a cliff and being despised more by the public. Tyson didn't have to leave Rooney and Cayton and go with King. He didn't have to flush his career/talent down the drain. If he wanted to retire after Spinks which he kind of said after that fight...he should have.
Golata should have been praised for saving his own life

Nathan Hazlett Absolutely, agreed.
Shit man could not agree more! Those "fans" should be put in the same situation as Golota, see how they feel about it.
Right, attack golata for ending the Carter of bowel through low blows

NO ONE COULD HAVE BEATEN A YOUNG, HUNGRY TYSON.
YOUNG HUNGRY ALI WOULD SMOKE HIM
Young, hungry Tyson was a great and devastating fighter.
@@joeblough261 Only an old 90's Foreman, prime Lennox Lewis and Ike Ibeabuchi could beat a prime Tyson. Maybe Liston too
@@joeblough261Every fighter struggles, especially since they are fighting way more experienced fighters early in their career.
@@joeblough261 Well…when Bonecrusher Smith felt Mike power he was holding mike the whole fight, wasn’t able to give a single good punch except one big right hand and Mike was unfazed…holding for his dear life,Mike didn’t struggle smith was just able to survive 12 rounds with him by holding and running
Didn’t struggle either with Tucker,it was a good fight and a display of the greats skills of both going to the decision,Tucker touched mike with a good uppercut in the first round but not a menace,Tyson outjabbed him the whole fight and wobbled him many times,Tucker had a good chin and he was well trained for this fight
Tyson also trained like 3 weeks prior to the fight and was very psychotic (thanks to rooney he was still focused)
Struggled with Tillis, did you see the fight ? Tyson always initiated the offense first, display of insane headmovements and footwork, wobbled him like ten times and put him down,Tillis was in a top shape and Tyson was also injuried this fight,he just didn’t knock him out like the 3 others
the main thing when y’all say tyson struggled it just mean that he didn’t knock them out like he used to do,but still won pretty convincingly and he was still learning at the time just look at the ribalta fight after the tillis fight,Tyson just became better and was improving very fast, the Tillis fight gave him some experience.
Norwegian733 amen to that
Norwegian733 Exactly my friend he avoids him until he's doing drugs has NO interest IN fighting n was just washed up,his mojo was gone ,he no longer cared he just done it for the money cos he was in debt,he just wanted the money.
Lewis had the same background as Tyson but retained dignity, they even trained together and roomed together in 1984 as teenagers by the way.
Boxing is a very tough sport- but it has to be a sport. If fans, pundits, trainers and boxing people in general sanction it to be about 'fight even if you might die' then basically we have a modern version of gladiatorial games
Tyson would've indeed eaten his children if he fought Lewis back in 80s
He might have eaten kids but he'd not beat Lewis.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV he would have
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Definitely would have. 86-88 was the most dangerous Tyson.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV ok keep dreaming 👍 Lennox would die vs Tyson 80s
I love the little guys who"bring it"(Joe Frazie, Tyson), but I reckon that, on his best day, Lewis could PROBABLY beat any heavy in history on their "best day".
Melt
lewis only fought people he knew were past it,fact
tysons gotta be one of the saddest stories of boxing corruption he would of been unstoppable but he let too many people jump on for the ride
Don king screwed tyson.
Lennox Lewis showing great understanding and humanity there.
lewis beated the lot , won from every oponent he ever faced , did not duck anybody , always said 'i dont mind who i am gonna fight next ' , and acted upon that . he IS what boxing needed . and we mis him !!!!
according to george foreman he might be the greatest of all time .
amen
Even today people are still upset with the Golota and Tyson fight.
Most of them don't know the whole story.
He broke his back and orbital in that fight
Everyone has the fight their own fights. No one else can speak for Golota or make health related decisions for him. A good fighter is not just standing foolishly in the way of danger to impress others, it's knowing when to accept defeat.
Atleast Tyson tried to go out with a bang by fighting Lewis eventually (besides good money). Lewis was a scared chicken when asked for a rematch with klitschko. And now he keeps on justifying that he would have won if the fight went on....
Mike Tyson is way more relatable then Lennox and he will be remembered long after Lennox has been forgotten.
No. I have not forgotten Lewis. How can I? He's the GOAT of all heavyweights.
However, it's very true that Lewis was getting more and more to Vitali. ;)
just watched it and now im telling you that mike tyson is great. i've seen & watched all 58 fights carefully and its obvious how skillful he was. he wanted a rematch and he said that straight after the lost. watch tyson vs berbick & then tell me how & why hes overrated.
doesnt matter if tyson discraced himself he was still the most destructive boxer ever
Lewis is the most underrated boxer of all time. I love it that Tyson supporters are saying he avoided Tyson in his prime, when in fact it was Tyson that avoided him lol.
The bit on Lewis Fortune to watch is the slow motion behind Fortunes head lewis fortune 6.04 of the film. That is a punch that would kill most.
"A black eye for boxing." Nice pun.
Lewis, on the other hand, was in it for the long haul. He went back to the Olympics and won Gold and had a steady rise to the title and managed to stay under the radar.
Although, I do think there was a slight advantage with Lewis: he had his mother by his side throughout and stayed relatively under the radar for a long time, while Tyson seemed to become a stressed out paranoid as the years went on and D'Amato and Jacobs were out...which happens given what he was going through at his age.
allways was, always will be, all ways has been ,allways would be allways should be!
Tyson would never beaten Lewis on his best day!
Bigger, stronger, smarter
@dunlap15
You're the one who said Tyson fought Bowe.
That would be a surprise to both Tyson and Bowe.
Im from England.. gotta be honest.. no one would ever of beat mike tyson when he was 20 years old.. he was a fuckkkkking animal.
Lewis you look great
He beat many fighters considered very good.
@Cowardzaghe I'm guessing you don't rate Calzaghe either. Who do you consider a good boxer?
no matter Wat u say about Tyson but in my place no one knows u only Tyson even kids knows him..
Tyson is the youngest to win the Championship belt ever...and hold it! Lennox wishes he could be half the man Tyson is. Tyson = G.O.A.T
Tyson admitted after his fight with Lewis that he cannot beat him for being so skilled and accurate and never got interested in a rematch. How can a G.O.A.T say these things? 😁😁 😁
Prime Tyson would have smashed this arrogant chump.
Adrian if he had a glass jaw them why did it take lennox 9 rounds to ko a washed up version of him
Adrian breaking new tyson if oficaily a bum because some pathetic youtube troll says so
@@mradamsmith9365 100% correct

I was watching this so seriously up until the moment i saw that reporters haircut 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Look at Lewis uppercut against Fortune and tell me that is joke. Slow motion replay of stoppage of Bruno. He had unbelievable power.
That said, if Lewis ever faced a pre-1990 Tyson it's KO as usual.
what a legend
Lennox is a top-notch dispatcher of mere mortals
Tyson is one of Mike Vick's pitbulls
Lewis is a dominant champion with class second to none
Tyson is a once-great has-been overhyped for 80% of his career
Lewis is a complete boxing package, size, strength, reach, skill, technique, patience
Tyson was a fast, powerful, ferocious animal
Tyson is a dog
Lewis is a lion
i only watched this vidio because it had tysons name on it i totaly 4got all about lenex luwis and in a couple of more years ppl will 4get he ever exested but iron mike on the other hand will live 4ever , lenix can talk all he wants 2 but hell never be rememberd as one of the greats
Fuck me Lewis is the man.
@dunlap15
Douglas was not a 'fluke'.
That's the one. Lewis did come back to beat in the rematch. Lewis probably didn't take Rahman seriously.

All of them have forgotten that Tyson hit golota with his head which is illegal.
Lennox Lewis is all right, he's not great.
he was quick to accept rematches when he lost but not the other way around
True, but it was after prison. Tyson didn't want anything to do with Lewis after prison. He wasn't the same after Spinks, after he left Rooney, let alone when he rusted away in prison. Tyson may act crazy, but he isn't stupid. He needed to make money and Lewis would always be there down the road if he needed him. He actually stood a better chance to win with the version that fought Bruno in the second meeting, but even then, it would have still been a punchers chance.
lol, he definately has the right face to fit the hairstyle (especially when you freeze at 1:05)
Lmfao dumb and dumber
man when Muhammad Ali and Tyson were boxing people in china wanted to see their fight....most famous boxer's all over world are Ali and Tyson nobody else..
Wow that's Pagani?
My dude had brain bleeding, a slipped disc, like damn. If you were in his position, I don’t think you’d want to continue.
you are so right
even tyson admitted that
lewis should have understand that tyson was arrested 38 times when he wasy only 13 years
tyson
he had a rough life and his guardian died when he was still young in his carrer
whe he died tyson when off and started the mad tyson persona
Nobody even knows LL outside of boxing but you mention Tyson….
most people lost to tyson before they even stepped in the ring, he was a bully, but who did he really beat? can we say the like of Pinklon Thomas were great fighters? And Holyfield owned him in each fight. Tyson knew Holyfield wasn't scared of him and wasn't up for it with the results we saw.
fuk yeah ma'am
Lewis will ever be on iron mikes level
Bullshit. Only yanks think that
Tyson while with cus d Amato would have them all Lewis, holyfield, Bowe
totally true. i talked to bobby stewart as he lives close to me & he said that if tyson was constantly in shape mentally, physically & spiritually there's no way anyone on earth could beat him.
@tubemech yeah but everyone knows that he never could beat tyson in he`s prime... just look at tyson`s knockouts from then
what Im saying is the guy he faught was not the tyson before he went to prison. that tyson was almost unbeatable under d'amato and rooney
Im 31 of age Lennox remind me of a young george foreman with his height and 🔋 do any1 agree?
@aussie20092 He didnt turn pro until 89
why dont i know what i am on about? please educate me. coz i have a different view.
No Lewis claim to greatness is that he BEAT everyone in his era. EVERYONE. Lewis is a 3x World Champion, only Holyfield and Ali did that. Type in "Lennox Lewis Greatest of His Era". Educational to ppl like you.
greatest heavyweight ever ...period
well lenix is a great man for boxing but, mike tyson definitly deserves credit for being a verty acomplished and tough fighter.. he may be and when he fought lewis he was too far out of his prime to compete with lewis but hey thats like saying ali fighting lennix right now.. different time frame
Prime Tyson with Cust and rooney in his corner would Shit all over Lennox all day.
actornwriter, Tyson fanboys don't understand reason or logic.
For what it's worth, you're right.
Sounds like MMA fights when an American fights a Brazilian lol. MMA is an awesome sport...boxing too
That punch with what Tyson send Golota to the floor was really lucky.
+MrFacepalmStudio Judge saved Lennox balls by stopping this fight.
+MrFacepalmStudio Lennox after deafeating Golota went to being number 1 in 90s.

I wrote exaclly all the same as you, but when Lewis won againts Golota he became number one. Golota was the only white guy in top tier and by his position he oppened the doors for another guys from East.
tyson wasnt in his prime when he was beaten by lennox lewis
@403766 what about the 2 gold medals ? go to wiki and u will see it
Yes, but Tyson threw away his career and ability after Spinks.
