My amazing audience seems to really enjoy when I travel around and see new sights and eat great food. So I decided to create a new mini series about traveling from Canada to Jacksonville, Florida.
We’ll start in Buffalo New York, fly to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood airport, spend a day and a half in Jacksonville, Fly to Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina then back in Buffalo where I'll be stealth camping in the parking lot.
This is part 7 of my trip to Florida where I'm headed home back to Canada. I'm starting at Jacksonville International Airport and headed to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, NC where I have a 2 hour layover. While in Charlotte, I'll look around the airport and find a couple restaurants to eat dinner at. I'll first grab some food from Wow Bao and then hit up a seafood place called Phillips Seafood. After I eat I jump on a plane headed back to Buffalo where I'll sleep in the airport parking lot for the night.

All I can hear is someone else conversation. I can barely hear you. The little soup crackers are called "Oyster Crackers." What you are eating is not a Crab Cake. Crab cakes are not deep fried balls. They should look like a patty.
The audio is awful during the actual food review. Highly suggest investing in a lav mic.
The old guy does his best what he could do. I love his videos.

I’m honestly a little confused by this series. Is it an airport food tour? I never really understand why you went to Florida to begin with. Was it a family vacation?

Been watching you for years now ken, but what is happening with your content?, it seems like you literally do not care about the stuff you post on this channel now. How did you go from awesome stealth camps / actual food travel videos / exploring random mom and pop shops around towns in canada, to this? you basically went to florida to eat in airports, looking like you hate every single minute of it. you seem SO much happier on the vlog channel these last few months

I understand you came to Jacksonville to visit a viewer, but no one takes a trip w destination Jacksonville.....there is literally nothing there. At least go a smidge farther to St. Augustine,,,oldest city in US w so much history.

The "Bao" in Wow Bao is pronounced like B + out without the t. There is a movie in 2018 called "Bao", apparently it's very good.
Bao are Chinese Steamed Buns, filled with a variety of Sweet and/or Savory items. very much sandwiches on the go.

Phillips is a Baltimore based restaurant, its definitely a tourist trap as any true Marylander would not consider this as real seafood

Bao is pronounced bow, like bowing before the king, at least that’s how I’ve always heard it pronounced.Those pot stickers look amazing. Really good food is always a surprise when you’re eating in an airport. Airline travel is not what it used to be…in other words, enjoyable. I still enjoy tagging along vicariously though so thanks for including me.

I also am not a crab cake fan. But I do love crab.
The Dallas, TX (DFW) airport has a restaurant called Pappadeaux Seafood. They used to have crab cakes on their menu but do not anymore, Sadly. They were the best crab cakes I have ever had. They were 90% crab and 10% panko bread (only on the outside) instead of 90% breading and 10% crab. It came with crispy onion straws and capers. It's probably been 3 years since I have had one but I think about them often lol.

Lived in Charlotte for over 60 years. Never heard of neither one of those restaurants I guess they’re only at the airport.

Missing the stealth camping , Ken. The airport restaurant sampling is ok but really enjoy your reviews at various eateries in small villages because it gives good advertising for mom n pop places. Love Charlotte. Downtown n Southend are great. Always have fun there. Lots of construction. Booming downtown(they call it Uptown). I’m gonna say downtown lol.

I fly frequently and hate that most sit down restaurants close or run out of food by 8pm. You'd think with all the people in and out of there flying waaaaay past 8pm they'd stay open and also be more prepared.

I always wonder if the food at these airport restaurants is made in house. My guess is that the soup comes frozen in a big bag and the apps are frozen, too.

I would love to see you do a big "super" trip to Dallas-Fort Worth where you got your modern city in Dallas and Western city in Fort Worth. Of course the huge airport of DFW. My wife and I really enjoyed this series.

I clicked on here cause I had a stopover at Charlotte airport. Curious what other people get. I ended up getting Bojangles. And from other comments. Looks like it was good choice. I wanted to the Carolina BBQ pit. But the menu there didn't seem very authentic Carolina bbq. So I skipped it.

Enjoyed the vid, Ken! Just so you know, downtown Charlotte is not a safe place to go. If you do get mugged there, there's a good chance the police will do nothing. Well, last I heard anyway, which was a year or 2 ago, from friends who live in the area. Wherever you go, stay safe.
Downtown Charlotte is very safe. Despite it being the biggest city by far in the state. Several other large cities in the state hve much more crime(NC in general is pretty safe). Some of the areas folks in NC would call risky r not. They just haven’t been anywhere that is really dangerous. They don’t know what unsafe is.
I like the airport food reviews but I can definitely see what people are saying that it seems like Ken doesn’t have the most energy although to play devils advocate he’s traveling which is very tiring in itself so he could just be tired

Wao Bao has a ghost kitchen in my town, and we've always liked it.
